Salinas Ker, also known as Firecracker, is a female Human-Epicanthix bounty hunter, bare-knuckle boxer, and the daughter of the first Arch-Priest of the Nekros Coven; Solas Night-Thorn. Born in the criminal organization the Azure Serpents, Salinas was initially trained by her mother in the art of infiltration, before discovering her skills in combat during an altercation with another member of the Serpents.
Biography
Early Life
Salinas was born to her single mother Salira Ker on Troiken. She never knew her father as a child. At an early age, she was initiated into the Azure Serpents and trained by her mother to become an infiltrator. When a young member of the Serpents tried to rob the girl, she made a show of putting the boy in his place. Despite being three years younger than the boy of ten, Salinas was able to knock the boy off his feet and savagely beat him unconscious.
Following this incident, Salinas, now known as Firecracker, learned several styles of hand to hand combat and became proficient in the use of dual blaster pistols. She became prized student of one of the Serpents' lieutenants, a former friend of her father.
Years later, her mother passed away in a speeder accident. Salinas, now twelve, chose to remain with the organization, if only to learn as much as she could about her missing father. Going so far as to challenge the Serpents' leader Talon Night to a duel, with the stipulation that if she won he would reveal everything he knew of her father, but if she lost she would be forced to leave the organization.
Dueling a Master
Salinas' duel with Talon Night was short lived, after all she was a girl of twelve and he was a master wetboy with multiple decades of experience. But it lasted longer than anyone expected. She had very clearly inherited her father's natural talent in combat, and thanks to her mother's training, she was able to avoid his attacks and strike hard and fast. Unfortunately, one costly mistake later and she suffered a blaster shot to the shoulder and found herself pinned on her back in defeat. Per the stipulation of the duel, the girl would be forced to leave the Azure Serpents. She was allowed to get her shoulder healed before her departure.
As she was getting ready to leave the Serpents' home, she was approached by Talon. He told her that she had showed real promise and was without question her father's child. And out of respect for his former protege, Talon provided her with coordinates where he claimed to have heard rumors about a white-haired man with blue eyes and red face-paint.
Finding a Father
From then on Salinas traveled the galaxy tracking her father. During this time she honed her skills as a bounty hunter and rose to minor prominence as a bare-knuckle boxer. She used the money she gained through these means to fund her hunt. After two years of searching, she found conclusive evidence of a man who fit the description of her father and went by the name Solas. He turned out to be a Sith Hunter of the Dark Jedi Brotherhood. After collecting enough funds to buy a small ship and two cheap assassin droids, Salinas made her way to Yridia III. Unknowingly slipping past their scanners, she landed in the hanger of a large base she found. Inside she was greeted by a white-haired man, a bothan, and a large being she couldn't place. They were flanked by a dozen troopers.
Descending the ship's ramp wearing a heavy cloak with her droids. They stood across from the three other individuals, after waiting to see if they would do anything she silently ordered the droids to fire at the man. However just as they attacked the bothan and the other being drew lightsabers and reflected the blaster fire back at the droids destroying them. She drew one of her blasters only for it to be ripped from her hand and some invisible force slammed into her and caused her to stumble back. Standing up she found a lightsaber blade held to her throat.
The two exchanged a short dialogue where she informed him of her mother's passing and her desire to find the man known as Solas Night. At the end of the dialogue, the man revealed himself to be Solas Night-Thorn, Supreme Commander of the Nekros Syndicate, and her father. The pair would embrace before she was accepted into the group and acknowledged as his daughter.
Personality and Traits
Adventurous and carefree, Salinas is known for her light-hearted conversations, enjoying silly pranks and mocking people who thought too much of themselves. Her child-like attitude persevered even as her life tried to break her.
As she worked with ruthless people during her time in the Azure Serpents and now the Dark Jedi Brotherhood, Salinas often favors her companions for being merciful and avoiding unnecessary killing. In stark contrast to this, Salinas seems to approve when evil, corrupted and otherwise dishonest people are killed, if she believes they deserved it.
Salinas is an intergalactic explorer and skilled bounty hunter. Her nimbleness has been a frequent asset in her adventures since she was a child. She can maneuver tight spaces, discover hidden passageways and even disarm traps. She also enjoys dabbling with goods from the criminal underworld.
Salinas is also learning to speak Dashadi. After meeting the Dashade brothers Frosty and Dox within the Nekros. Despite her wild nature, Salinas has shunned promiscuity, as she made a promise to her mother that she would wait until she married before going to bed with anyone. Also she's fairly certain her father would murder anyone who tried.
