| == Character Description ==
| | Xander Drax is a former Imperial Admiral and TIE pilot who served the Empire and Emperor's Hammer. He had been in Imperial service for nearly a quarter century before he was forced to leave the Emperor's Hammer under the threat of death. Drax had discovered his force sense during his days with the hammer, but did not chose to develope it until several years after leaving its service. Drax has been known to assist the Bounty Hunter's Guild on a number of occasions, developing close ties with bounty hunter Slagar the Cruel among others. |
| Xander is a Firrerreo, a near-human race easily mistakable for human. The main difference between then is a golden tint to their skin, and longer canine teeth. Though over 300 years old, Xander maintains the appearance of a male of his species of 35 to 40 years of age, owing to the creature he is bonded to combined with his naturally faster healing rate. | |

| === Early Years === | | == Character History == |
| Xander was born a slave on the world of Sleheyron, his mother owned by Tiranga the Hutt. Once he was old enough (5 years old on Sleheyron), he joined his mother working in one of Tiranga's Tibanna gas refineries. As he grew not only in age and size, he was eventually assigned to the fuel mines below. Years of misery were finally punctuated by his mother's death when he was 21 years old, an event that crushed Xander. Feeling that the life he lead held nothing, be petitioned Tiranga to participate in the Gladitorial Games that saw the Hutts pit their slaves together in combat.
| | ===Early Life=== |
| | 27 BBY to 10 BBY |
| |
| After a grueling training regimine, Xander entered the arena and began to do well for himself. His first battles were learning experiences, not fought to the death, but later he was entered in those as Tiranga saw his skill growing. Many would say it was his innate skill in combat, or an unfocused connection with the force, that saw him through his many battles. After facing and defeating 47 different opponents in single combat to the death, Xander decided he would leave Sleheryon. Killing several guards, and releasing an entire cell block of gladiatorial slaves to add to the confusion, Xander escaped the holding area and stowed away aboard a fuel transport.
| | Drax was born on the factory world of Fondor in 27 BBY. As his parents were both workers at the orbital shipyards, it was only natural that Xander would end up in the family business as well. By the time he first started working the docks at the age of 14, he had already decided to move on to bigger and better things. With the help of several dock pilots, Xander began to train on the yard's shuttle simulators in order to acquire the knowledge needed to apply to the Imperial Academy. For two years he worked in the dockyards for two years, helping construct many of the Empire's early Star Destroyers. |
| |
| === Making a Name ===
| | By his 16th birthday, Xander had already submitted his application and was accepted into the Academy. For training as a pilot he was sent to the Prefsbelt IV Naval Academy. While initially trained as a shuttle pilot, Xander showed sufficient aptitude to be transfered to TIE flight school. Xander graduated in the upper half of his class with both Starfighter and Shuttle certifications, and was assigned to the Imperial-class Star Destroyer Allecto. |
| Xander began to work his way across the galaxy, taking jobs as enforcer, body guard, or hired muscle. For several years he was paid to stand and look tough, throw a few punches, and perhaps break up a fight or two. For a man that had lived and breathed the harsh reality of the pits of Sleheryon for years, it just wasn't enough. Using the money he had earned, he started to look for a place where his special skills could allow him to shine. | |
| |
| That place was eventually found in The Cauldron located on the planet Rattatak. The Cauldron, like the gladitoral arenas on Sleheryon, were filled with beasts and slaves fighting for the enjoyment of others. Here, as a free being, Xander entered the games as one of the only non-slaves to participate. Fighting for himself, and betting on himself to boot, Xander cut a swath of blood across the field of combat. As time went on, he began to see his opponents moves before they made them, know what they were thinking before they did. It was his first real conscious brush with the force, tainted though it may have been. As the fights became repetitive, Xander soon grew bored. Taking his newfound wealth with him, Xander began another search, this one for more knowledge of this newfound power within him.
| | ===Imperial Service=== |
| | 10 BBY to 6 ABY |
| | |
| | Drax was first assigned to shuttle missions upon arriving on the Allecto, but was put on a list for possible transfer to a starfighter unit. He would first fly shuttles in support of the Imperial occupation of Dressel in 10 BBY. His shuttle group was responsible for evacing many of the wounded soldiers to orbital hospital ships. He would spend 4 years in the shuttle corps before transfering to the 136th Imperial Fighter Group aboard the Allecto. |
| |
| === Descent into Darkness ===
| | In 5 BBY, Xander would see his first major action as a starfighter pilot during the Battle of Bryx. His squadron was first responsible for helping enforce the blockade of the planet, and later eliminating targets that were escaping the orbital bombardment. Once the invasion began, his squadron was assigned to protect descending dropships. He scored three kills during the engagements against Governor Carigan starfighter forces, his first combat kills. |
| |
| After years of searching, Xander had uncovered much. With the incomplete knowledge he possessed, he taught himself to focus his talents, leaving him with an incomplete and spotty knowledge of the force. His studies uncovered information on the Dark Lord Freedon Nadd, ruler of Onderon, and armed with this knowledge Xander set off in search of him. Unbeknownst to Xander, Freedon Nadd's spirit had been destroyed millenia before, but he was traveling a path once taken by Darth Bane. | | After several tours of duty, Xander had been made a flight leader in the 136's 2nd Squadron. The 2/136th was one of the best squadrons aboard the Allecto, having the best fit-reps and combat statistics. Xander would later take part in the Second Battle of Mon Calamari. The Allecto had been docked in the shipyards above the planet for repairs in 1 BBY, but along with many of the other ships at the yards it was sabotaged before the battle began. However, the fighters of the 136th fought valiantly during the battle, allowing their damaged ship the time to limp from the shipyard and escape. |
| |
| A fate similar to Bane's befell Xander, with some unknown force dragging him off course, his ship crashing on Dxun. Fighting through the jungle, Xander was being inexorably pulled to Nadd's tomb. Entering the tomb, Xander eventually uncovered a holocron that had been left there by Darth Bane. Activating it, Xander summoned forth the spirit of Bane, the same spirit that had been guiding his journey.
| | Once the Allecto had completed repairs at Kuat, she was then assigned to Admiral Tarkin's Fleet. As part of her duties during that time, she was assigned to rendevous with the Grand Moff himself in 0 BBY. During that mission, Tarkin's shuttle and the Allecto came under attack by three squadrons of rebel fighters. It was only by the quick action of the pilots of the 136th that the Grand Moff was saved and the Allecto escaped destruction. Due to his actions during the engagement, Drax was promoted to the rank of Captain and given command of the 2/136th. He would remain in this position for several years, when he would once again garner recognition for his actions. |
| |
| Bane demanded to know the fate of the Sith order, but with the order working behind the scenes, Xander knew nothing. Deciding that the order should be preserved, Bane passed on his knowledge to his new "apprentice". Much of Xander's growth in the Dark Side took place during this time, and when he left Dxun a year later, he was a far more powerful being. But he was not a Jedi yet.
| | The 136th was assigned beside the famed 181st Fighter Group in what would become known as the Battle of Derra IV. Though tasked with a tertiary roll backing up the 181st, Drax hoped before the engagement that there would be action enough for all of them. When they arrived, in system, the Imperials and Drax alike were overjoyed to see that they had underestimated the size of the Rebel convoy. |
| |
| The thing that had fascinated him most was the Orbalisk armor that Bane had worn, and it's strange symbiotic relationship with its wearer. Taking one of the beasts to study, Xander decided to come up with a better version of the armor. Knowing that the constant battle between symbiosis and being overwhelmed by the Orbalisks was the biggest problem, Xander decided to have the problem removed. Traveling to Cartao and enlisting the aid of Spaarti Creations, Xander spent the vast majority of his remaining fortune on a re-engineered version of the Orbalisk. The new entity would be far smaller, a tiny version of its original. They would still join together in colonies to form their living armor, but now it would be millions instead of hundreds, like living nano-technology. And each one would have within it programming to maintain a certain amount, never to overwhelm its wearer.
| | |
| | During the engagement, Drax and pilots of the 136th were responsible for the destruction of several starfighters and two transport vessels. With the death of the 136th's commander during the battle at the hands of X-wing fighters, Drax was promoted to Major and given command of the Group. However, after nearly four years of constant combat assignments, the 136th was assigned to relive the 57th Fighter Group on the new Imperial holding of Bakura, under the overall command of commander Pter Thanas. |
| |
| The overall protection was decreased, and their ability to enhance the wearer's force ability was virtually eliminated, the living armor was now in a truly symbiotic relationship with the wearer, as opposed to a controlled parasitic one. And with them being tailored to fit Xander's specific genetic profile, they would be useless to another. So on that day, Xander donned the colony of "Orbites", and has been wearing the living armor ever since. The one unforseen consequence, that would not be noticed until years later, was that by nature of the Orbites symbiosis with his Firrerreo physiology, Xander's aging virtually halted.
| | They would be there a year later when the Ssi-Ruuk attacked. Elements of the 136th were on the front lines of the inital combat, and the group was decimated in early engagements. Having fallen back to Bakura itself, the 136th was facing a last stand when Rebel forces arrived in system. This was the first many of the Imperials had seen of the Rebels, Drax included, and he had to admit that their sight was a welcome one in. After the Ssi-Ruuk were defeated, Drax and the remainder of the 136th attacked their rebel allies, but were eventually defeated when Thanas defected to the Rebellion. Drax and the surviving members of the 136th were allowed to leave the planet peacefully. |
| |
| === The Dark Brotherhood ===
| | Upon their return to Coruscant, the 136th was decommissioned as a unit and its pilots assigned to other squadrons. Drax was assigned to command the 2/54th that was stationed planetside. After years of shipboard and backwater assignments, Drax found his time on Coruscant exhilarating. The large city planet reminded him of his home on Fondor, and he began to see the appeal of then Imperial Center. All of this changed, however, less then two years later. |
| After centuries of hiding in shadows, avoiding the gaze of the jedi or other sith, he was drawn into the Dark Brotherhood by one of its warriors. A member of Clan Taldryan, he studied for many months before the great schism that split the Brotherhood in twain. Being a relatively new member, Xander stayed with the brotherhood in the Minos Cluster.
| |
| |
| But, as the years went by and he became more and more disenfranchised with the Hammer and its 'Jedi', he was approached by a member of the one true Brotherhood. Finally deciding to leave the pretenders and journey back to his true brethren. He has been expanding his formalized training in the dark side ever since.
| | It was at this time that Ysane Isard would, in affect, abandon the planet to the rebels. Drax would participate in the Battle of Coruscant, but quicly saw it for what it was. After the shield collapse, the token resistance possible given the weak defenses the planet had been left with offered no hope of victory. After hours of battle, Drax gave the recall signal to those craft under his command, and they returned to their base. Drax knew that his pilots would have little hope if they did not get off planet soon, so he stole one of the base's Lambda-class shuttles, loaded up his pilots, and fled the planet. |
| |
| Having found it hard to find his place within the Brotherhood, Xander has bounced from clan to clan. He has served in Taldryan, Plagueis, and has now seemingly found a home in Arcona.

| === Attire === | | Xander has the look of a fit, though senior, military officer. His hair, once a vibrant brown has, in recent years, gone entirely through with grey. Unlike many others, Xander has chosen not to color his hair, having felt that he has earned his years and to do otherwise would be dishonest. Xander usually wears a uniform of vaguely Imperial cut, preferring to stay away from the heavy robes that are favored by much of the Brotherhood. This preference stems from his many years of martial service, and is deeply rooted in his person. The uniform does however differ from standard conventions in that the collar and shoulders are of a deep red color, showing his allegiance to the Sith Order. |
| Xander is always covered by his Orbite armor, a dark grey mass of natural organisms that covers all but his face. Over this Xander will wear whatever suits him (within physical requirements) including his jedi robes. But, he favors a simple hoodless cloak of deep red fabric fastened at the shoulders with golden clasps. | |

| Xander tries to stay away from the focus of attention, keeping to dark corners. Most always he moves with a purposeful stride, moving from place to place and rarely dawdling. He rarely sits, preferring to stand in a rigid, upright posture. He speaks in a tight, clipped form. Most of the time his voice lacks much inflection or feeling, leading people to consider him distant and unconcerned. This demeanor is a side affect of centuries living in hiding, leaving him unprepared to form attachments to others. | | Xander most always moves with a purposeful stride, moving from place to place and rarely dawdling. |
| |
| Having such a long lifespan (and at this point seemingly unlimited baring disease or accident), he cares little for the changes and events that many others consider important. For example, during the Sixth Great Jedi War, he cared little for which of the Grand Masters were the true leader of the Brotherhood, knowing that in the long term, it mattered little who was controlling the Brotherhood for this short period of its history.

| Star Saber: "Ghest" - the Star Saber XC-02 Starfighter was a highly experimental starfighter created c. 400 BBY by Republic Fleet Systems based on a much older design that was never put into production. Measuring seventeen meters in length, the Star Saber was designed as a patrol fighter. The Star Saber's shape resembles a swooping bird of prey, with a long nose and a pair of swooping wings at each side. Four laser canons are housed below the inner sections of the wings, and a proton torpedo launcher is situated on the nose. The thin outboard nacelles house additional engines, used to give the Star Saber exceptional maneuverability.

| Kresh acquired the craft before he set off in search of Freedon Nadd's tomb, and has been making changes and upgrades to it ever since. A more recent addition to the craft was a small, more modern hyperdrive unit and a A-wing type NavComp that can store the coordinates of up to five different jumps. While the craft is an outmoded design, it can still hold its own in combat with newer starfighters in the hands of a competent pilot.
