"Shikyo Keibatsu" can be translated into either "Death Penalty" or "Death Punishment".
"Sagara" was inherited from the manga series, Rurouni Kenshin, after the street fighter, Sagara Sanosuke.
"Rurouni" was also inherited from the series, as it meant "wanderer" or "vagabond".
Shikyo's TIE is nicknamed Hitokiri in rememberance of his journies in Arcona and his past as a loner.
There are two cross-shaped scars on Shikyo. One is on his cheek and the other is on his back. The one on his cheek was created by his former fiancee as well as one of the assassins who killed her. The other came from Combat Master, Dalthid.
