| Yridiae, properly known as Alpha Yridiae, is an F0-class, main sequence star with a surface temperature of 7,200˚K. The surface is yellow in color. The star has a record history of a very active magnetic field with numerous sunspots near the star’s equatorial latitudes, some reaching field strengths of 5,000 Gauss. Astrophysicists estimate the star’s age to be approximately 3.7 billion years old with a total projected lifetime of 9.6 billion years, after which the star is expected to shed its outer layers and become a white dwarf.
