The Consul's Coven is a select group, hand-picked by the Consul of Clan Scholae Palatinae, of those who excel in particular areas and wish to further other members' understanding and ability.

Fictional

The most obedient, cunning and skillful of the Clan Scholae Palatinae were summoned to the planet of Judecca; home world of the Clan’s seat of power. There, in the confines of their fortress, they met in secret with the convened Clan Summit to discuss the shortcomings of an aging Clan. It was not a mutinous act, but a necessary one. An evil meant to be kept secret until properly revealed -- for if they acted too quickly the two Houses might reject the changes. So upon the world of Judecca, in the deepest shadows of an unknown hall, the Elders mapped out a hierarchy that would usher in a new era for the Clan.

Discussions were heated, each Elder and Leader pointing out the strengths and weaknesses of the new plan proposed by the Summit. In the end, they came to an agreement that would allow for expansion or the ability to remove the concept. Once discussions were closed, Dakari Tamalar and his aide stepped out from the shadows; endorsing their work by placing their identity with it. The conclusion had been made, an initial six positions would be created and implemented. Each new ‘Officer’ would have a dynamic list of duties and responsibilities to the Clan and her members. If, at any time, a Consul deemed additional positions were needed - he alone - would be given the authority to create these positions. And thus began the Consul’s Coven - his elite cadre meant to mentor, advise and, ultimately, be the experts of their chosen field.

And thus the Consul’s Coven was solidified and implemented during the Sixth Great Jedi War. A time when the cohesive nature of the Brotherhood was undetermined and the Clans looked inward for strength and prosperity. For the six officers became heralds unto their given factions, communicating new developments and organizing that which was in disarray. Providing the Clan Summit a much needed respite and reinforcing the membership’s belief in their Leaders.

Historical

Upon his induction as Consul, Dakari recognized that his command structure lacked the flexibility necessary to fulfill the Clan’s needs. In a move to alleviate the demands he plucked from the Clan several men and women. These individuals would act as an extension of the Summit’s office - unofficial servants of the Consul, acting on his behalf to bring pertinent information, training and news to the Clan. Each was picked based on their ability, familiarity and expertise with a given facet of the Dark Jedi Brotherhood. Appointed as extension of the Clan Summit, these individuals are granted the responsibilities of being a role model and authority within the Clan. In the absence of authority, it falls upon these individuals to uphold the rules of conduct set before everyone.

In addition, when these individuals are called forward, it will be their duty to respond to the demands of the Consul. The demands of this position require an individual to complete any projects handed down from the Consul, maintain records, provide accurate and up-to-date information to the Clan and monitor the channels of communication within the Clan (IRC, E-mail & Message Boards). It is not a commitment to be taken lightly, thus the applicant is hand chosen alone by the Consul -- and his advisers, if he chooses to have a second opinion. And the length of service is indefinite, running as long as both appointed and appointee deem it appropriate and beneficial to the Clan.
