| Jonah Kraul is an ex-Imperial officer who agreed to help the Crimson Tide attack [[Clan Plagueis]]. The Dark Jedi themselves were unaware of who he was. | Kraul was one of the few men who gladly became part of the Imperial. He started as an intelligence officer on Coruscant.. Working and focusing on his occupation Jonah with great pride and determination became a high-placed officer of the Imperial Army. Kraul on one of his last missions was to infiltrate a planet suspected of rebel activities, he was expected and ambushed due to an information leak. He miraculously survived the attack and was able together valuable information about rebel activities that shifted the what little hope the rebel’s had on planning to destroying a Imperial invasion. Jonah Kraul returned to the Empire as a hero. | | Born in 30 BBY, Kraul was steeped in the grandeur and splendor that was the newly formed [http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Galactic_Empire Galactic Empire]. He began his career as an Imperial Intelligence Officer, and rose quickly through the ranks and survived the many machinations and plots inherent in a long career in any intelligence agency, especially that of the Galactic Empire. He was ruthless and efficient, if brutal. |
|
| |
|
| Kraul found out through his spies that there was a republican sympathiser as mole on Coruscant. Jonah notified Empire of the situation he had uncovered. With this new development Kraul saw an opportunity and requested a battalion to clean up the messes and, eliminate the mole. His wish was granted and Kraul got himself a fully armed battalion of Stormtroopers and an Imperial shuttle. | | An example of Kraul’s methods is the incident on Coruscant during which Kraul purged the Imperial Security Bureau headquarters. In the course of operations, Kraul had discovered reliable information that a Rebel spy had infiltrated the headquarters of the Imperial Security Bureau. Rather than use a variety of reliable techniques to reveal the mole over the course of time, Kraul requisitioned a battalion of Imperial Stormtroopers and surrounded the building. |
|
| |
|
| Instead of infiltrating the Imperial Intelligence, asking subtle questions and spying on colleagues, Kraul invaded the building, rounded everyone up and arrested them. Jonah and his right hand, Lieutenant Mozz, ‘interrogated’ the people of the bureau for over three days without any result. Both men tired of not getting anywhere, decided to execute a few of the lower rank personnel to make an example to the rest that they where not playing games. Although the method was highly unorthodox and brutal, it had success and the mole identified himself.
| | After three days of intensive interrogation, Kraul decided to begin executing officers in the ISB. After many executions, the rebel cracked and identified himself. He, and everyone he knew, were summarily executed. Kraul was hailed by Imperial Holonet Services as a hero. Though rumors sounded in the Emperor’s dissatisfaction with Kraul’s lack of subtlety, Kraul was rewarded with an assignment as commander of the very battalion he had used to subdue the ISB and assigned to the Imperial Star Destroyer ''Nemesis'' (not related to Thrawn's ''Nemesis'', though around the same make), then under the command of General Ackar. The exploits of Kraul and his forces became legendary as the ''Iron Will'' battalion defeated all before it. |
|
| |
|
| Kraul and Mozz were hailed and thanked by the Empire. There where rumors that Palpatine did not like Kraul and never wanted him around. The mission on Coruscant was not the way the Emperor wanted things handled, but the Emperor recognized determination and eagerness of the officers as a good example for the Empire itself. So he and Vader arranged that Kraul would become the commanding captain of this battalion and was stationed on the 2nd Class Imperial Star Destroyer ‘Nemesis’ under the command of General Ackar.
| | A portion of the ''Iron Will'', Kraul’s ground soldiers, were on the Endor moon the day the Rebellion destroyed the second Death Star. General Ackar died on the exploding second Death Star over the Endor moon and many of the General’s forces died on the moon below. Kraul, his forces aboard the Nemesis and some supportig ships jumped to hyperspace and ultimately joined the assemblage of Imperial forces that would become known as the [http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Imperial_Remnant Imperial Remnant]. |
|
| |
|
| So Kraul resigned as an intelligence officer and became part of the infantry instead. It was a good position for Jonah since his men know nothing of his background, even though there were speculations that Kraul was a Mandalorian. Jonah never confirmed or denied it but, the hypothesis makes sense. Kraul loved every battle, from strategy to the part where one spills another mans’ blood. His missions were almost always cleaning up rebel activities.

|
| |
|
| General Ackar was pleased with the accomplishments of this battalion which named itself after it leader‘s, ‘Iron Will’. Kraul took advantage of the opportunity to enlarged his influence on his battalion, the general , and the entire army. The Iron Will battalion became legendary among the ranks of the Imperial Army, in witch Jonah Kraul, became the right hand of General Ackar.
| | Kraul grew weary of the Imperial Remnant and its endless bickering but remained loyal to it. Several years after the Battle of Endor, when the flames of war still licked at the galaxy, a meeting of Imperial Remnant leader was ambushed by the fleet of the New Republic. Almost no ships survived the New Republic’s attack. The ''Nemesis'' was damaged and its captain killed. General Kraul and naval second-in-command Commander Zeno, took command and ordered the Nemesis to retreat into hyperspace. The Nemesis, and Kraul, survived the slaughter. |
|
| |
|
| === Birth of the Remnant ===
| | Kraul withdrew his support from the Imperial Remnant and faded into obscurity. His crew, and of course his troops, remained loyal to him. Few, if any, among them saw the wisdom of continuing to be a part of the ineffective chaos that the Imperial Remnant had become. |
|
| |
|
| The day the second Death Star exploded, was a darkest day for Kraul’s army. Not only was another precious space station destroyed, Emperor Palpatine was killed in a battle with Jedi Luke Skywalker, Lord Vader betray his Master, and General Ackar died while onboard the Death Star. However the ‘Nemesis’ was able to jump into hyperspace with several other ships and escaped the area around Endor.. Jonah made sure he and his men remained stationed on the ‘Nemesis’.

|
| Kraul became General of Ackar’s army. While a rather large part of the army was destroyed on the surface of Endor. The group called the Imperial Remnants was being formed. This group also fell under his command. | | Kraul and Zeno had dreams of rebuilding the Galactic Empire with a rightful heir to Palpatine at its head. The pair decided to seek a remote system to plan and effect their dreams. After years, Kraul decided that conflict was needed to keeps his forces battle ready. He allied himself with the [[Crimson Tide]] and was rewarded with title of Admiral of the Crimson Tide forces. The alliance with the Crimson Tide has presented Kraul with an opportunity to train his forces without much risk to him or his forces as a whole, at least so far as he can perceive. |
|
| |
|
| Although Jonah was not happy with the developments among the Remnants. They took heavy losses all over the galaxy, every commanding officer tried to succeed another and they all had a different idea’s of what needed to be done with the heritage of the Empire. Kraul grew tired of this . Still, Jonah remained loyal to the Remnants.

| Several years after the Battle of Endor. There was a meeting of vital importance for the remaining imperial officers of the Outer Rim. Unfortunately the gathering ships were being ambushed by a republican fleet. Practically no ships survived the ambushed or were not taken over by republican boarding parties. The first imperial vessel being hit was the Nemesis, the bridge was heavily damaged and the ship’s Admiral Negosha, dead from severe injuries. Kraul knew that the ship and the other vessels were doomed if they would stay there. So he and the second-in-command Zeno to jump the ship into hyperspace. It was one of the best possible choices Kraul could have made, and the ISD II survived the slaughter.

| The ‘Nemesis’ never returned to Imperial Remnant space, but instead decided to follow its own course. Kraul became more important on the bridge ever since Negosha died. Together with the loyal commander Zeno, Jonah ruled over the ship and the entire crew. None ever questioned the defection of Kraul, because he convinced them that the Imperial Remnants would sign their own death warrant in the end. The Republic was too strong as an opponent and as long as the imperial officers were unable to unite themselves, the Empire would not be reborn.
| |
| | |
| Kraul and the ‘Nemesis’ disappeared for many years, every now and then there were rumors that it re-appeared after a long absence into known space. The only thing Kraul truly wanted was to construct an entire new Empire with a rightful heir of Palpatine as the new Emperor. No longer was there mere blood thirst and simple cruelty.
| |
|
| |
| Instead, Kraul adapted to the new situation and environment and changed his strategy. Kraul & Zeno agreed that they needed to find a remote solar system where they could hide. From there they would be able to start a project to rebuild a new and improved Empire.
| |
| | |
| Ever since the ‘Crimson Tide’ had been active in the Acarr system, unidentified sources have claimed that the ‘Nemesis’ is back with a vengeance and allied with the pirates. None can confirm these rumors so far. The fact pirates wore imperial armor during a mission on Eden and that an Imperial Star Destroyer jumped out of hyperspace just after the space battle above Byfrost was over, raises suspicion. The only thing people can suggest is that he allied with the pirates for the army. Kraul had a Super Star Destroyer, and Calliban had a good size of troops.

| During their alliance, the leader of the Crimson Tide. Calliban Crimson, asked Jonah if he would helped them fight against Clan Plagueis. Jonah himself had no real reason to attack them, but was hungry for a good fight, and knew that dark jedi would give it to him. He agreed to help Calliban, taking control of the pirate fleet, and they secretly made their plans to lay waist to the planet.

| *Distinguishing marks: Kraul saw many battles in his long career and because of that his face looks extremely battered and is filled by many scars. This gives him a grim look. He is probably the only general that wears the amour of a Stormtrooper, although this particular one is modified and partially painted black.
| |
| | |
| *Phobias: Suffers from paranoia-attacks because his distrust towards others is extremely strong and this makes it difficult for him to follow his own strategy. Always there is the fear someone might backstab him or betray him in any other way. The only officer he trusts is the commanding officer of the ‘Nemesis’, Commander Zeno who succeeded Admiral Negosha. When he gets angry and frustrated, he easily eliminates his opponents through brute force rather than searching a political solution. | |
| | |
| *Military Rank: Former imperial intelligence officer, former commander of the Galactic Empire, former general of the Imperial Remnants, vigilante general of the defecting army ‘Iron Will’, which deserted from the Imperial Remnants for having another strategy to restore the Empire than the Remnants.
| |
| | |
| *Character information: The general is what one may call the true face of the enemy. Although the Emperor has been dead for more than ten years and the Empire itself is long gone, Kraul still remains loyal to its ideals and values. He’s a tall man with an exceptional strength and despite his age still in good shape. Unlike during his younger years, the general is now well aware of the political game and adapted himself to that game ever since Negosha died. He knows that it is probably the only way for him and his army to survive. Although he showed the talent to learn from his shortcomings, he still rather shoots his enemy down rather than to talk things through. Shooting one in the back is always an option and he still hates the rebels as well as anyone affiliated with the new Republic. One should never trust him, because he always follows his own hidden, strategic agenda.
