Overview
In Boral’s early days, Arcona's terraforming project was nearly abandoned after a series of dust storms and abnormal cosmic phenomena battered its fledgling settlements. One defensive array designed to shield workers from the harsh cosmic rays and electromagnetic radiation from Dajorra — designated Halveris-4 — somehow stayed operational despite these conditions, holding back storms that would have destroyed what few crops and greenhouses remained.
The survivors named the growing settlement Halveris, in honor of the thin, cracking shield that didn't break when they needed it most. "Halveris holds" has become a rallying cry for settlers pushing into the harsh zones even today.
Nestled inside a wide impact basin produced by asteroid impacts of the distant past, where the terrain was originally stable enough to anchor the first shielding arrays, Halveris stands as the first of Arcona's colonies on the Selenian moon Over the last two decades, the colony has grown into an efficient yet vibrant expanse of shielded domes, solar harvesting towers, and terraced hydroponic structures.
The buildings are made of smooth durasteel with a minimalistic design, featuring cutting edge, translucent solar mesh panels woven into their exteriors. Thick vertical shoots of Acrocarpous mosses and Selenian Echeveria grow up the sides of walls, carefully maintained by Halveris' more agriculturally inclined inhabitants to complement the colony's holistic atmosphere. Color-coded pathways guide foot traffic through the settlement, and floating drones often carry out maintenance or distribute environmental data via holograms.
