Eiko Lanzer*

At a young age, Aran Tonor was sent to study at a small Jedi academy. In his later years, he was declared a Grey Jedi and took up residence on Ione, where he played a pivotal role in the life of Eiko Lanzer. He was proficient with the use of his own lightsaber and a student of several different martial arts, assisting a local studio with the instruction of Dulon. All information on Tonor comes from his one-time student, Eiko Lanzer
History
Before Ione
Little of his history was relayed to Eiko Lanzer, leaving large gaps in Tonor's recorded history. He was born on the planet of Ralltiir in or around the year 29 BBY. He studied under several Jedi at a small academy described as being "close to his home," either on Ralltiir or in a nearby system. He achieved the rank of Knight at a young age, owing partly to the drain on Jedi forces during the Clone Wars and the need for strong leadership in the now-underground academy.
The academy began to mix with smugglers and other individuals seeking to hide from Imperial power - it was in this time that Tonor began to learn Dulon and several other martial arts from the individuals who frequented the academy. With the influx of different ideas and philosophies, the order within the academy began to crumble - after developing a relationship with a female smuggler, Tonor was separated from the academy and branded a 'Grey Jedi.'
There is evidence that Tonor moved frequently in the following years, disguising himself and disappearing from all official channels. At some point, his relationship with the female smuggler dissipated, leaving Tonor to continue his travels alone. He eventually settled on Ione.
On Ione
Tonor integrated himself into a local Dulon studio close to his apartment in the lower districts of town. He supported himself by giving lessons at modest prices and taking up investments in local entrepreneurs.
Eventually, a group of students formed together to create what was known as "the core of the studio," formed from Eiko Lanzer, Jaina Dabrini, Barrett 'Hound' Kerit, and 'Fox' Lian. He invested significant time in tutoring each individual in Dulon, as well as working outside of the studio to help Eiko develop his potential as a Force-Sensitive. He was known to lecture and philosophize often during a lesson at the expense of physical study. After teaching Eiko the basics of sword-based combat, Eiko stole Tonor's heirloom katana and rushed to the door of the apartment - Tonor tried to give chase, cutting off three of Eiko's fingers, but was ultimately unable to recover the weapon and adamantly refused to discredit Eiko in the eyes of the other "core" members.
The studio saw a decline in membership several years later, forcing Tonor to relocate. He chose to return to his homeworld of Ralltiir.
On Ralltiir
To this day, he instructs Dulon at a small studio that he founded near to his birthplace.
Character Details
Personality
Tonor acts the part of the quintessential instructor - he is methodical, calm, and reserved in his actions. He is deeply analytic, constantly taking in his environment and thinking. This preparedness has not, however, led him into cynicism. He remains deeply compassionate, forgiving, and accepting of other views. He is staunch in his own beliefs and will discuss them at length with any interested party with respect.
