Despite his parents protests. Kaayn would frequently leave the homestead unattended. On one such occasion, he wandered outside of the settlement. As night approached, he was attacked by a group of slavers. They took him to their staging ground and secured him in a makeshift prison with a small group of blue skinned humanoids. After four day, a group of Harakoans led by a Twi'lek assaulted the camp and freed the human child and the Harakoans. |

His parents eventually agreed, and Kaayn was taken by the Twi'lek to a remote location in the grasslands of eastern Owyhyee. In addition of the normal jedi curriculum, he was also introduced to the Harakoan culture, traditions and language. Through his training he came to respect the culture of the Harakoans and eventually gained the respect of the tribes he visited. |

Kaayn has never met a mirror he didn't like. For a Jedi, he is vain, arrogant, and has a bit of a hero complex. He insists on being the center of attention, which is apparent by his highly polished armor that he wears under his Jedi robes. He insists on getting credit for his accomplishments.
