History

Origins

The Tanduran and Dac Unified Commandos orginated on New Tython prior to the invasion of the Dark Jedi. They were at first a ragtag group of humans and Mon Calamarians. These were Tythonians that had some military experience. The were loosely organized, poorly equipped, and rarely trained. The commander at the time did not fell the need for training as there was not real thought of a threat. He would walk around Menat Ombo in his uniform like a peacock. During the initial attack of the Dark Jedi he was killed. It just so happens the when the Dark Jedi attacked, Alexander was in the Market. At the time of the attack he ran into two former members of the GADF a Human ,Eric Norgn, who was a Sniper/Scout and Mon Calamarian ,Sisus, who was a Command Master Chief. Some other humans and Mon Calamaria who were friends of the other two. The action that was seen by the Tanduran Dac Unified Commandos was minimal in the grand scope of the invasion. After the action the need for a standing Special Operations unit was seen. Since the Plank owners of the new TDUC were Humans from Tanduran and Mon Calamari from Dac it was desided that they would draw vonunteers from there. All the volunteers had prior military service of some kind. The training was tough, and it was desided that all members would be able to funtion in any enviorment. The Ducks, as they called them selves, are two separate forces. They have Rangers that are divided into different Platoons based on the Special training they received. The second force are heavy troops.

Rangers

The Rangers are light and medium armored forces, that operate in varying terrain. They are normally used for hit and fade attacks, Intel gathering, and guerrilla fighting. They are separated into platoons, based on training.

First Platoon

The First Platoon is trained to operate in wooded environments. They train in in heavy forest, light forest, and rain forest. They could also operate on the open plains. The equipment that is used is for more of a standard forest. All of members of First Platoon field personal are Human, with Mon Calamari support personal.

Second Platoon

Second Platoon is trained to operate in and around water. They are trained for Navel (water) commandeering. They also train for operation in rivers and swamps. Second Platoon takes great pride in the fact that They are the only Platoon that operates in water. Second Platoon currently only has 1 human currently assigned to it, the rest are Mon Calamarian. He was the first Human to successful complete the training, and is the Platoon Commander.

Third Platoon

Third Platoon is trained to operate in the barrens and deserts. They also are the only unit that trains in the Tundra. They operate in extreme hot and cold environments, usually in the same day. The Dusty Ducks, as they call them selves , seem to relish the barren terrain they operate in. Due to the physiology of Mon Calamarians, the unit is exclusively Human. Even the support personal are Human.

Fourth Platoon

Fourth Platoon is another unit trained to operate in a very specific area. They are trained to operate in urban warfare. They are trained to not only operate conventionally, but non conventionally. They are the only platoon that operates in civilian clothing. They excel at CQC, intelligence gathering, and Hostage Rescue. When there is a time when local authorities have someone taken hostage, Fourth Platoon is called. The Platoon is a mix of both Human and Mon Calamarian.

Assault Troops

The Tanduran and Dac Unified Commandos Assault Troops are different then the Rangers. They use Powered Armored, and Heavy weapons. They are Trained to work in Three teams of Three with a NCO commander. They can be deployed as 12 separate groups, working independently of each other. Or as a larger unit for an Assault. Most of the armor weapons was scavenged from after the invasion. They have done the best to be cohesive, but not all the armor matches yet. The Tanduran and Dac Unified Commandos first order of business to the outfit the Assault Troops in the same gear.
