Some researchers have postulated this state of affairs being artificial in nature, citing the planet’s extremely dense metallic composition and kinetic energy as potentially having been a weapon of a bygone civilization. An inertial gun, of sorts, primed but never fired. Whatever target would necessitate launching an orbiting body at, most reputable scientists refuse to contemplate.

The Wispor System

The Wispor System is located in the Galactic East, nestled between the Severian Principate and Hutt space. The system has changed hands over the centuries, having once been a thriving independent state, or at least an autonomous region. However, poor times have befallen the system and Hutt influence has grown, leaving its inhabitants effectively vassalized to the Hutts in all but name.

Still, old holonet links run through the system and offer enticing opportunities for espionage, as well as serving as a low-intensity battleground between the Principate and the Hutts.

Wispor's Satellites

There are three planets and a large number of smaller objects orbiting the star Wispor Primaris.

Wispor I

A sun scorched rock, Wispor I is a small, lumpy mass of a planet orbiting far too close to its parent sun to be habitable. Having no atmosphere and barely a gravity well to speak of, the only thing keeping the pseudo planet in orbit is its relatively high orbital velocity.

Wispor II

An industrialized, temperate world, Wispor II is a world lost in history. Hints of Imperial and Huttese architecture intermingle among its buildings, though both of older vintages. Great public works have not been had for ages, with much of the old glory dilapidating despite attempts to stave off the inevitable with haphazard reconstruction.

The capital city of Hamartia is the largest settlement on Wispor II, holding the royal palace and embassies, as well as the majority of Wispor II’s industrial base. A venerable city that has long since seen its heyday, but still retains some elegance, the city is rife with spies and espionage which is tolerated by the local security apparatus—as long as it does not jeopardize the local inhabitants or the security of Wispor itself.

Wispor II’s main export are shock weapons, made using locally sourced crystal cores that greatly amplify their power, allowing conventional weapons to be miniaturized or if size is no objection, souped-up to truly frightening levels. Still, with the relative issues of shock weapons against common blasters unaddressed, the Galactic market for even high-tech shock weapons remains miniscule.

Wispor III

Wispor III is a lazy gas giant, orbiting the far outskirts of the system. Although containing many useful gasses in its atmosphere, including Tibanna, the low purity of the gas mix makes harvesting economically challenging. Only a token operation exists in orbit, operated by Hutt-owned enterprises.
