Explanation
Journeymen ranks already have established requirements as created by the MAA Staff. The information you've provided is already available on the wiki, found in the various pages relating to competitions, ranks, and promotion guidelines. Aside from the superfluous fiction (which is better suited for an email sent post-promotion to the member directly), what is the point of this (and all the other "Career Path" pages) being on the wiki? The DB wiki is not a replacement for emails or unit websites. --Shadow Taldrya 16:48, 22 March 2013 (MDT)

We do not set up additional requirements for the Journeymen, we simply want to make utilize another way to inform our members about some basic things. Yes, it means doubling some guidelines, which already exist, but want to make sure that HSP members may reach the information easily. Also, we are trying various platforms to save the documents prepared for the use of our House, in order to find the best platform for this task. We believe that at least general overview and Equite Paths may be located on the Wikipedia, for the sake of keeping House identity documents in one place. - Xantros
First of all, please don't delete Shadow's discussion comment or Corin's response. They're sort of useful to have as a means of clarification. Second of all, if you wish for HSP members to reach information easily, may I recommend utilizing Google Drive or e-mail? Bringing the wiki site into the mix can actually complicate access to information, adding another external outlet to Journeymen's long lists of things to check out. Putting up the guidelines on the wiki, in my humble opinion, also makes the wiki appear a little sloppier, since the wiki editors do seek out simplicity and uniformity in requirement and guideline articles. I would highly encourage you to move these articles off the wiki and set up a Google Document or e-mail, to send out or share to any potential newcomer, without the need for them to scramble to an extra website. That, and a Google Document will allow them to always have the guidelines on them whenever they check their e-mail. --Ronovi Tavisaen, 10:30, 31 March 2013 (MST)
The wiki is meant to be the collection of Dark Brotherhood information. Putting it elsewhere would meant someone, somewhere along the line, will not have access to it. As such, the wiki for the situation is perfectly reasonable. An extra website? The wiki is far too fundemental a website to be consider "an extra website to have to look at". Why do we host the Journeymen guidelines here? Why do we have the Covenant here? Simply because it is the primary source of Dark Brotherhood information, and to expect that certain information should not be on here, you would need to scour most of the wiki away. That being said, this project is nowhere near complete, and early complaints/queries should consider this. --Archangel 12:12, 1 April 2013 (MDT)
The concern is not that it is going against the purpose of the wiki, nor is it saying that the wiki is simply an extra nuisance for Journeymen - far from it. The difference between the Scholae Palatinae Paths of Career and the promotion guidelines, however, is that the promotion guidelines are the universal guidelines for the entire Brotherhood. Ergo, they're placed here, on the DJB-wide wiki. But they're also placed in different parts of the site, as well as distributed in different formats to Journeymen. All that Shadow and I are saying is that the information posted on this page is unit-exclusive promotion advice, which in my humble opinion is far more suited for the Scholae Googlegroup where a select group of Journeymen can access it without it causing confusion or mix-ups for the rest of the units. You may think that comment is silly - after all, anyone knowledgeable enough can look at the Scholae Palatinae title and know it's not for them. But it's about organization, and it's about orderliness. We do need a sense of uniformity here, so unit-specific messages can be distributed directly to the unit.
That, and I totally agree with Shadow about the fiction - the wiki is meant to be encyclopedic, not for storytelling. --Ronovi Tavisaen, 13:18, 1 April 2013 (MST)
