Koth'Ata, smaller creatures observed traveling in packs across the surface and only recently named, seem derivative of the Tuk'ata found on Korriban. They are known to terrorize smaller mining operations and speeder groups along the planet's surface, but are largely scavengers. They mostly live in caverns beneath the planet's surface.

Biology and appearance

Just under a foot tall and 18-36 inches in length, these creatures travel in packs of 10-50 depending on their food sources they can scrounge for. They are skiddish around larger creatures and tend to remain in caves, leaving only to scour for food and miscellaneous debris for their nests.

The females are slightly larger than the males and outnumber them by a ratio of 5:1. The females birthing cycle is roughly 6 standard months at which, they die once birth of their offspring so their babies have food to eat (i.e. carnivores).

The males, while smaller, are more ferocious and will go out of their caves at night to hunt. a pack of 10 can take down any creature the size of a small bantha. They go for the legs and tendons to drop them on the ground before tearing into their victims throats. After they get their fill, they tear off chunks of the flesh to bring back to the caves for the females. They also hunt for forage and limbs of plants/trees to help build their nests. Some nests have been found with pieces of durasteel from an unsuspecting land craft that was left out overnight.

They look almost identical to their larger cousins, Tuk'ata. Their skin ranges from Dark Grey (Males) to Blood Red (Females). They have razor sharp teeth and 2-4 inch claws that help them shred what they need to.

There are 4 different species that are described below.

Subspecies

• Koth'ata

The normal koth'ata is roughly 18-36 inches in length and just under a foot tall.

• Giant Koth'ata

The giant koth'ata are about 24-48 inches long and 2 feet tall. These cousins are mutated due to living around power plants and eating toxic scraps laying around.

• Mutant Koth'ata

The mutant koth'ata have a different set of lungs that allow them to breathe under water as well on land. Many have made a life of attacking lake and river animals as well the occasional boat left out.

• Force Sensitive Koth'ata

The rarest of the koth'ata are the once that have a force sensitivity. They don't have powers that they can just use, but are able to feel force sensitives with in a few miles, as well as force jump/run and higher agility do to it. Some have shown to be able to resist the force and not affected by mind control or suggestions.

The Sith have trained these to help mercenaries they have sent out to track force-sensitive beings for either recruitment or extermination.
