A member of Saraask'ar, Ghaarm the Elder was once a Jedi Knight of the Old Jedi Order. Turned on by his clone troopers during Order 66, Ghaarm did not survive by virtue of escaping his clones; indeed, he was gunned down, mutilated, and left for dead. Only his discovery by Hssk'osh, leader of the slaver guild Saraask'ar, allowed him to survive as a cripple. Serving the guild for years afterward, he identified Force sensitives first for the Empire and then for The Brotherhood and House Plagueis. Today, he is crippled, blind, feeble, and incapable of even levitating objects with the Force anymore, but his usefulness remains in finding the next generation of Initiates for the Ascendant House.
