The Forest Beasts of Ptolomea are a pack of powerful monsters left behind in the Cocytus System by the Infinite Empire. Long, fast, and camoflaged, they were awoken by Pacre Datship leader, Emperor Vanis, in 39 ABY. Following the death of one of the pack, Imperial Scientists began to analyze the remaining corpse. It was given the scientific name of Elincium Decepticus, named after Elincia Rei for her incredible efforts during the Monstrosity event.
History
Sometime around 30,000 BBY, at the height of the Infinite Empire, many of their best scientists took up residence within the Cocytus System, turning it into a multi-planet laboratory to study the mysteries of life itself.
On the predatory jungle world of Ptolomea, the Infinite Empire researched animal relations and camouflaging abilities. To this end, they created a mammal/reptile hybrid pack of beasts. Citizens of Ptolomea have long cautioned against venturing deep into the wilderness of the planet for the specters of the jungle would kill before you even knew they were there.
One of the beasts was killed by Archangel, and the others disappeared into the jungles of Ptolomea following the reversal of the awakening ritual.
Description and Abilities
A pack of five beasts, these hybrid animals’ natural coloring matches the thick green plant life of the planet. With their skin a glimmer, they each show the capabilities of changing the color tones of their reptilian skin to further blend in with their direct surroundings. For this reason they prefer to roam in the deep jungles and forests, and not out in the open. Their claws easily cut through the more common building materials of the planet, and their jaws can crush through the armoring of many of the ground vehicles on the planet.
As a pack, each of the five beasts move with a near hivemind like level of communication. Initial scans indicate a secondary communication system by ultra-high frequency pitches.
