History
Childhood
Veran Long was born in Arconan space on the planet of Selen, she is the daughter of a pilot and an engineer, so she spent a lot of her childhood around ship engines or in their cockpits. She loved seeing how things worked; taking them apart and putting them back together. When she had the chance she would spend the days watching her father work and the ships landing in the spaceport. Watching and learning from her father. When she turned 10 she was often found at the back of her father’s workshop playing with spare or broken parts. She tinkered with broken droids and managed to fix a great deal of them which then went on to being used by her father to help round the shop.
When Veran reached 18 she got a job at the spaceport working on the smaller ships in the Arconan Fleet under her company. She spent a good few years working for her father till the time came for his retirement. Veran was 28 when she inherited the family business. Even though she spent a great deal of time doing what she loved she couldn’t help feeling that her talents were going to waste.
Joining the AEF
It wasn’t till the time of the 9th Great Jedi War that she got the chance to show what she could really do. With a great deal of the bulk of the AEF Fleet in need of heavy repairs they turned to the assistance of Veran's business and others like it to help repair the damage swiftly.
After the repairs to the Fleet were complete the Arcona Expeditionary Force asked her to sign up in the engineering core, she accepted on the spot. She used her determination and well honed skills to earn herself the position as Chief Engineer on board the BAC Darkest Night by the time she was thirty. Even though this is her first station she has years of experience.

Appearance
When Veran Long is not on the bridge she is normally wearing her overalls. She has pale skin which you will most of the time, find with some form of engine oil on it and dark brown hair. Despite her age she still looks quite youthful.
Personality
Veran has a loud, outspoken nature even though she knows when to keep quiet and when to talk. With the members of her engineering team she is relaxed and laid back but if they put a step out of line then she is a force to be reckoned with. Even though this is her first station she is hugely confident in her abilities and will not be made to think otherwise.
