Early Life

Born in Northern California, Tracie was raised in Riverside, California. In middle and high school, she was extremely active in extracurricular activities.

Tracie medaled with the Martin Luther King High School winterguard at Winter Guard Association of Southern California championships in 2000. She was also very dedicated to the choir program, as soprano section leader of the chamber singers for four years and the first KHS student to be accepted to the Southern California Vocal Association honor choir. She also received several service awards in the choral program, for leading sectionals, doing graphic design, and otherwise filling needs left by others.

After leaving winterguardguard, Tracie joined theatre, becoming a member of the International Thespian Society, Trope #6209, and serving as assistant musical director of her senior year musical, Damn Yankees, among other roles.

Tracie graduated from KHS in 2003.

Journey Through College

Riverside Community College

Tracie entered Riverside Community College in Fall 2003. During her time at RCC, she was active in the Dickens Carolers, an award-winning a capella caroling group for luxury hotels and private parties and the RCC chamber singers, performing Durufle's Requiem with them at Carnegie Hall in Spring 2004. She also began to find her voice in writing when she joined the staff of the national award-winning campus newspaper, Viewpoints, quickly climbing from opinion writer to lead copy editor, a position created specifically for her in the editorial staff.

Tracie received her Associate Degree in Arts from RCC in spring 2006. She also completed California State University transfer requirements during her community college career, allowing her to transfer to any California State University as an upper-division student.

California State University, Long Beach

Tracie then transferred to California State University, Long Beach in Fall 2006 as a junior. She enrolled as a music major, with an emphasis in choral education, as she decided several years before she wanted to be a choir teacher. However, her time at CSULB was very unpleasant, and it was with much emotional stress that she changed her major to English, Creative Writing emphasis for the Spring 2007 semester.

It was probably Tracie's part-time job as a Cast Member at Disneyland, operating the Indiana Jones Adventure attraction, that got her through that year. She dropped out of CSULB at the close of the Spring 2007 semester and moved to Nevada to live with her father.

After moving out of state, Tracie was accepted to University of Nevada, Las Vegas, but did not attend. Instead, she took a year off of school, before finding out that the local college, just across the state line, recently gained accreditation for a 4-year English program.

Dixie State College of Utah

Tracie transferred to Dixie State College of Utah and enrolled in Summer 2008 as an English major, Professional and Technical Writing emphasis.

Tracie has also found a home in the vocal music program at DSC. Her skill in choral singing was quickly recognized. Tracie was given a choral music scholarship in her first semester at DSC for joining the chamber singers and two lower-level choirs.

In spring 2009, Tracie enrolled in voice lessons at DSC and her voice truly began to truly blossom. She was identified as a lyric spinto soprano and trained properly in classical and musical theatre styles. She competed at the National Association of Teachers of Singing Las Vegas chapter student auditions that semester.

Despite the fact that she is an English major, Tracie received a coveted music department talent scholarship for the 2009-2010 school year, in addition to her choral scholarship, and began teaching voice lessons privately in fall 2009.

Tracie moved to St. George, Utah when she began attending DSC, but maintains Nevada residency.

As of this writing, Tracie is in her senior year at DSC as an English major, Professional and Technical Writing emphasis. She is currently picking graduate programs to apply to, her number one choice being the Master of Arts in Writing program at University of Nevada, Reno. She plans to remain active in vocal music and is currently preparing for competition with NATS in spring 2010. She performs as often as she can, most notably at recitals and monthly at a local church, which compensates her for her time and efforts.

Tracie will graduate from DSC with a Bachelor of Science in English: Professional and Technical Writing emphasis, in Fall 2010.

Miscellaneous

Tracie has a cat named Killer, who stays with her father in Nevada. She is also active in Wheel of Time fandom. She hopes to become a published author one day, possibly writing memoir and creative non-fiction.
