Salem was born to a wealthy family of four including him.
Salem's parents were politically involved, his father Rajju Agonis was in the Senate and mother Sheema Agonis was in politics herself.
Salem's sister Shakati was a force-sensitive and joined the Jedi Academy on Yavin 4. Salem himself was attending school studying to be in politics and follow in his fathers footsteps, as his father was adamant on Salem going into politics and carrying on the his family name and great status in the political society. As Salem obeyed his father's wishes in becoming great in politics as his father was, deep inside Salem had other ambitions and other dreams that his father wouldn't approve of. Knowing this Salem was very confused and lost, behind all of this faking around to make his father proud and pretending to have a great desire and passion to be in politics as his father is Salem craved more than a life of that, he wanted a life of his own, on that he could carve himself and make his own ways and own decisions in his life, not what other's such as his father wanted. Through this confusion, anger, and frustration, Salem started to take his first steps down a path of no return, the path to the dark side.
