This page archives the awards that were previously awarded by the Wiki Staff to DJBWiki users for their work on the project.

Awards

The Editor's Award

The Editor's Award was awarded to individuals who display particularly fine decisions in general editing. Sometimes, expert text removal is the most effective editing.

The Working Man's Award

The Working Man's Award was awarded to those who work tirelessly and endlessly on the more laborious or repetitive of DJBWiki tasks.

The Minor Award

Minor edits are often-overlooked, but essential, contributions to the DJBWiki. The Minor Award is awarded for making minor edits of the utmost quality.

The Random Acts of Kindness Award

The Random Acts of Kindness Award was awarded to those that show a pattern of going the extra mile to be nice, without being asked.

The Award of Diligence

The Award of Diligence was awarded in recognition of a combination of extraordinary scrutiny, precision and community service.

The Tireless Contributor Award

The Tireless Contributor Award was awarded to especially tireless Wikipedians who contribute an especially large body of work without sacrificing quality.

The Anti-Vandalism Award

The Anti-Vandalism Award was awarded to those who show great contributions to protecting and reverting attacks of vandalism on DJBWiki. For more information on fighting vandalism, please see DJBWiki:Vandalism.

The Award of Good Humor

The Award of Good Humor was awarded to particularly light-spirited Wikipedians who, by their unshakably good humor, consistently and reliably lighten the mood, defuse conflicts, and make the DJBWiki a generally better place to be.

The Resilient Award

The Resilient Award was given to any editor who learns and improves from criticisms, never lets mistakes or blunders impede their growth as DJBWikipedians, or has the ability to recover/finish with a smile.

The Graphic Designer's Award

The Graphic Designer's Award was awarded to those who work tirelessly to provide DJBWiki with free graphic files, either original or a version of a known design (e.g. a country's flag).

The da Vinci Award

The da Vinci Award was awarded to anyone who has enhanced DJBWiki through their technical work (programming and tools, bot building, link repair, Mediawiki developers, etc.).

The Copyeditor's Award

The Copyeditor's Award was awarded for excellence in Copyediting.

The Special Award

The Special Award was awarded to a user as a gesture of appreciation for a specific reason, when there is no other Award which would feel as appropriate.

The "What a Brilliant Idea!" Award

The "What a Brilliant Idea!" Award was awarded to a user who figures out an elegant solution to a particularly burdensome bottleneck or problem, or who identifies a means to improve DJBWiki in a profound way.

The Award of Diplomacy

The Award of Diplomacy is awarded to users who have helped to resolve, peacefully, conflicts on DJBWiki.

The Invisible Award

The Invisible Award was awarded to users who make significant and helpful contributions to the project, but have kept to the background without seeking recognition or reward for their work.

The Quote Award

The Quote Award was awarded to users who submit quotes which are picked by the Wiki Tribune to be featured on the main page. Note: This award will not be back dated to quotes used prior to this award being created

The Motivation Award

The Motivation Award was awarded to users who

  • do wonders in "gee-ing up the troops" either through general motivation of Wikipedians, or
  • motivate Wikipedians by way of tools, competition, and other such things

The Rescue Award=== The Rescue Award was awarded to people who rescue articles from deletion.

The Writer's Award

The Writer's Award was awarded for writing a large number of articles/edits.

The Guidance Award

The Guidance Award was awarded to users who help others locate valuable resources, information, or assistance.

The Red Link Removal Award

The Red Link Removal Award was awarded to editors who show diligence in removing red links in articles by creating new articles, correcting the links to connect to appropriate existing articles or deleting links to articles that should not exist.

The Wikilink Award

The Wikilink Award was awarded to users who either add useful links or remove unnecessary links in articles.

The Admin's Award

The Admin's Award was awarded to administrators who made a particularly difficult decision, did a tiresome but needed admin task, cleared some nasty backlog or just to show an administrator that you think they are doing good work in a particular area of "the job" and that their work is appreciated. To be used when other, more specific, Awards do not apply to the reasons at hand.

The Teamwork Award

The Teamwork Award was awarded when several editors work together to improve an article.

The Award of Integrity

The Award of Integrity may be awarded to those editors who have shown to be a person of integrity and honor. Or, more simply, a stand-up guy/gal.

The Copyright Cleanup Award

The Copyright Cleanup Award may be awarded to those contributors who have gone the extra mile in clearing up copyright concerns on DJBWiki.

The Curator Award

The Curator Award may be awarded to those who have a long history of improving DJBWiki by finding and/or restoring historical files (illustrations, photographs, documents...).

The Recent changes Award

The Recent changes Award is for users who have been doing a lot of helpful work while patrolling Recent changes.
