This is a glimpse of the real life person behind Tier-Avis Nami.

Childhood

I was born long ago in 1978 in Wisconsin, where I grew up loving all manner of sports and all manner of video games. An only child until I was 17, I grew up with a vivid imagination to keep me occupied and thus developed a love for reading and writing. In 1983, at the young age of 5, my life changed forever when my grandmother took me to see a little movie called Return of the Jedi in the theater. This sent me on a lifelong journey to collect all the Star Wars action figurines that I possibly could. I never, however, owned the Millennium Falcon, something I regret to this day. I did own the AT-AT, which was very cool. I have always had a man-crush on Boba Fett, the only Halloween costume I ever used more than once.

Adulthood

The rest of my formative years were spent as many others had spent them: friends, parties, sports, chasing girls, hours of Final Fantasy video games, avoiding arrest, etc. I graduated from high school and went on to graduate with a degree in Regional Geography for the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay. I have yet to use that degree. I am currently an Assistant Produce Manager in a large grocery store chain that dominates Wisconsin.

I am a married man of five years to my beautiful wife Kimberly, a talented therapist. I have a young daughter named Claire that is becoming more of a handful every day, but is the light and love of my life.

Character

The character Tier-Avis Nami was born of a fake name I gave myself long ago and my Cherokee heritage. A friend long ago become fascinated with Greek culture and gave himself the name Themisticles. I laughed and made up the name Tieravis, and it stuck. I use it as my user name often because it is never already in use. I hyphenated it here to make it even cooler. To pick my DJ race, I looked for the SW race that most closely mirrored Native American culture and found it in the Kiffar race.
