The vessel was acquired by the [[starwars:Anzat|Anzat]] mercenary group [[Alpha's Omega]] in 14 ABY from a corrupt [[starwars:Imperial Remnant|Imperial Remnant]] Admiral. The mercenary group used the vessel until it was "liberated" by the [[Knights of Allusis]] in 37 ABY following the Battle of Purity Rock.

The ''The Pride of Owyhyee'' was heavily modified by [[Alpha's Omega]] after the group acquired the vessel from the Imperial Remnant under questionable circumstances. The group added secondary and tertiary sensor arrays to enhance it's scouting capabilities and spot enemies from greater distances. The vessel's shield generators were upgraded and the hull was reinforced to improve survivability in combat and a second tractor beam projector was added to better trap the vessel's quarry.

| The interior of the vessel was heavily modified by Alpha's Omega to support the group's mercenary activities. Sensor shielded cargo compartments were added for smuggling, a sizable brig was installed to hold captives and the ship's conference room was upgraded with state of art holoprojectors and communications equipment for mission briefings. The rest of the vessel was left in it's original condition, including the stock blue paint job, to allow the ''The Pride of Owyhyee'' to blend into system traffic or pose as a patrol vessel when needed.

| The CR92a Assassin Class is the more militarized successor to the ubiquitous [[starwars:CR90 corvette|CR90 Corellian Corvette]]. The Assassin class, like its predecessor, has an excellent array of sensors which give the ship an edge during patrols or scouting missions.<ref name=Foot01></ref> The Assassin Class design maintains the standard compliment of Turbolasers though it adds a photon torpedo launcher<ref name=Foot02>CR92a Assassin-Class Corvette [[starwars:CR92a Assassin-class corvette|Wookiepedia]]</ref> and a tractor beam projector to the arsenal<ref name=Foot01></ref>. The tractor beam can be effective at stalling or hindering the escape of fighters and even small freighters. Assassin Class corvettes also boast stronger hull and shield ratings than their CR-90 counterparts.<ref name=Foot02></ref> Another addition to the Assassin class is the inclusion of a docking bay. The docking bay is capable of holding multiple starships, depending on their sizes, which allows the ship to be used as a small carrier should the mission dictate<ref name=Foot01></ref>. These upgrades allow the Assassin class to be far more effective in combat while maintaining the CR-90's versatility.

The Empire christened the vessel ''Emperor's Cutlass'' and placed the vessel into service as a patrol vessel in the [[starwars:Anzat|Anzat]] sector. The ''Emperor's Cutlass'' remained stationed in the Anzat sector until the entire sector was absorbed by the remnant faction [[starwars:Greater Maldrood|Greater Maldrood]] after Emperor Palatine's death in 4 ABY. The warlord and former High Admiral [[starwars:Treuten Teradoc|Treuten Teradoc]] ordered the ship's name be changed to ''Cutlass''.

| Having acquired the ''Cutlass'' at a substantial discount, Thett Omega set about contracting the various modifications that would make the vessel more suitable for Alpha's Omega operations. Once all the modifications were complete the vessel was re-christened ''Omega's Cutlass'' and entered into the organization's small fleet. While it was the ''Omega's Cutlass'', the vessel remained in constant use by Alpha's Omega for a variety of missions and support roles. Most notably the vessel was used in raids on civilian shipping, kidnapping operations, infiltration, and as a support/command vessel for ground operations.
