Jhonario awoke in a Republic med room.  The bed was cold yet soft.  The mattress seemed to envelop his body.  Suddenly, Jhonario heard footsteps in the hallway.  A shadow creeps over the glass pane of the door.  As the door opens, Jhonario sees that it’s a female nurse.  Her thick, black hair covers her eyes.
“Oh good, you’re awake,” said the nurse in a monotone voice.
“Where am I?”
“USC Milliventure.  You were found in a snow heap on Khar Delba, half dead.  Your droid was scrapped – we were lucky enough to find all his parts.  You, however, seem remarkably intact.  You can stand up, but be careful, you might feel a little dizzy.  You had some hibernation sickness.”
“……Ow, my head..”
“Take it easy, the keeper will see you shortly.”
Jhonario sat down.  He already knew that he had failed his mission.  He started to beat himself up inside his head.  It was a simple Intelligence task – and he blew it.  Now he was destined to stay an infantry grunt for the rest of his life.
“Or maybe I could go back to being a scavenger?”  He thought.  “But there’s no dignity in that.  Why do I care so much about being successful?  People fight, they live and die, and that’s what life is all about – right?”
Keeper walked in, without a single auditory warning, and shut the door behind him.  Keeper was a pale old soldier of a man, with long platinum hair tied behind his wrinkled face, and cold silvery eyes.  Jhonario couldn’t figure what, but something seemed not quite right with the Keeper.
“Hello again, cipher.  Glad to see you’re safe,”  said the Keeper.
“…I failed.”
“Well, not entirely.  You blinked off our radars for a short moment – I’m guessing that’s when you ended up in the mud.  What happened down there?”
“You know, I’m not entirely sure.  I think I must have blacked out or hallucinated.. I saw.. this ship explode.”
“What else did you see?”
“My sister’s master, and many others… no faces.”
“Go on.”
Keeper was staring right into Jhonario’s heart and soul.
“…He had what appeared to be a holocron in his hand.”
“I figured as much.  We were hailed shortly after we lost contact with you by a representative of the One-Sith, he called himself, ‘Argentim.’  He claims to have the holocron.  So, thanks to you, we do know where it is.. we just don’t have it.”
“Yea, that’s the one I saw.”
“….He seems to have a psychological hold on you.”
“No.. what do you mean.”
“You were saying things in your sleep.”
“What?”
“Yea… something about sith code and honour and revival.”
“….Wow.”
“I’ve arranged for you to take a leave, effective immediately.  Take a vacation.  Do something fun for once.  You can’t let yourself get buried in books and computers and combat training, m’boy.  What you need is a good, old-fashioned visceral experience.  I hear you used to be quite the playboy.”
“Sir…heh…maybe, but  I haven’t craved the nightlife in a long time.  I’m stronger now – more focused.  When I left Nar Shaddaa, and joined the service, I was happy.  To be honest, I never felt more liberated in all my life.  Certainly, you could just reassign me?”
“No, as a matter of fact.  We need you to lay low… indefinitely.  I want you on the first shuttle to wherever as soon as possible.  That’s an order, soldier.”
“I… but… yes, sir.”
“And one more thing, too.  We’ll be watching you, m’boy.”  Keeper’s face hardened, and his voice was very ominious.  “Dismissed,” stated the Keeper tediously.
Jhonario reluctantly got up and shuffled out the door.  He realized he had forgotten to properly salute the Keeper.  He had lost the instinct for proper protocol almost immediately after being told to go off duty.  This was the first time that had ever happened – for even so much as a day.  Jhonario was feeling quite disenfranchised.
Jhonario started to think about old times.  “Could I ever go back to that life?”  He wondered.
Jhonario continued to think as he walked down a plain steely corridor.  He was not a member of the fleet, but he had been in many ships.  In fact, he had been in many ships – but this ship was perhaps bigger than others if needlessly so.  It was as if a recursive function had taken one normal ship and repeated the design many dozens of times to create this one.
He found a break room and sit down at a table.
“I need to make a decision,” he thought to himself.
Suddenly, an old friend walked in the room.
“Seb!”
“Jhonny, old buddy!”
The two hugged like time had never passed.  Then suddenly, Jhonario realized how much everything had changed.  Jhonario was in a cold black uniform, and Sebastien was in a nobleman’s clothes.
“It’s good to see you old friend,” Sebastien said, breaking the silence.
“It’s been too long.”
“Indeed.”
“’Indeed?’  Wow, look at you – you’re dressed like royalty and speaking like an adult, haha!”
“Yea, I – Heyyyy, you mean to say I didn’t speak well before?!”
They both laughed.
“Anyway, Beat Town has grown since the last time you’ve been there,” said Sebastien.
“Yea?”
Jhonario cocked his head sideways in interest.
“Well, when you left, we were starting to gain support from the Hutts.  They’ve started to see that they profit more by allowing us to prosper and trade than they do by marginalizing our people.  They’ve even allowed us to set up a sovereign government inside of Nar Shaddaa.  So, Beat Town is now a province of a larger principality called ‘New Aldera…’”
“Wait wait wait hold on slow down…  when did you learn all this stuff about politics?”
“Sheesh, you make it sound like a guy can’t grow up.  We all have to someday, you know.  I love my people very much.”
“I leave for 4 years, and now you’re a prince?”
“Not a prince, a viceroy.  Dargon Jackson is the prince.”
“.....”  Jhonario was not amused.
“What, I thought you’d be happy for me,” Sebastien quipped.
“That guy couldn’t lead a bantha herd, much less a fleet, or a country.  What in bloody hell were they thinking?  Who in their farking right mind would follow that enormous backside of a person?”
“Careful, you’re on his ship.”
“I know but… UURRRGH!  Listen, I’m army, he’s fleet – it’s like we’re different breeds.”
“Well clearly, he is human after all.”
“That’s not what I mean, you nerf.” Jhonario smacked him on the shoulder as he laughed.
“If he spent one second in real combat, we’d get to see real quick who was the better soldier.”
Suddenly, a tall, husky man in regalia walked up behind them.
“Who’s a better soldier?” said the voice from behind them.
Sebastien immediately knelt down.
“My liege.”
Jhonario turned around slowly with a bothered look on his face.  Dargon stared back with a firm stance and pointed downward.  Jhonario slowly knelt.
“Jhonario, it’s good to see you alive,” Dargon said in a monotone voice as the two begin to stand up again.
“Yea, same to you…,” Jhonario said in a facetious tone.
“At any rate, it’s your sister who found you.  You should be thanking her.  If it were me, I might have just left you there to fend for yourself.”
“Wait, Kharin’s here too?!  You need to get her out of here!”
“Kharin can stand on her own legs.  You’re not her father you know.  She’s a pretty capable-“
Jhonario slapped Dargon in the face.
“You insolent punk!”
Jhonario smirked as guards rushed in and held both of them back.
“Get off me you idiots!”
The guards let go of him.
“Try that again and it’ll be a fight.”
“Bring it on.”
“You might be strong enough to get out of bed on your own, but you’re not strong enough to take me on.”
“Wait, what did you just say?”
“You heard what I said-“
“No, about getting up on my own, and Kharin finding me.  I thought Keeper said Intelligence found me.”
“Keeper?  What are YOU talking about?  Keeper’s never been on this ship.  You think someone that important would come here?”
The guards next to Dargon started to chuckle.
“Shut up!”
Jhonario’s eyes widened.  Suddenly, the alarm goes off.
“Prince Dargon!  We’re being boarded!”
“Everybody get to the bridge!”
They started running.  A blast went off and suddenly the ship quaked.  In a flash, boarding pods began to drill into the side walls.
“Prepare for a real fight guys!” Sebastien yelled.
The doors popped open and cloaked figures began to pour out.  There were about a dozen sith, all wielding lightsabers.  Jhonario thew a smoke bomb and pulled Sebastien aside.
“Stay here.”
“The heck you say!  I’m fighting!”
“Suit yourself.”
Jhonario pulled out some thermal goggles and put them on before running back into the room.
The sith were clearly confused by the smoke.  Jhonario quickly ran up to the closest enemy, jumped behind his back, and snapped his neck.  He then turned to another sith and stabbed him under the ribs with a back strike.  As a third sith came in for a strike, Jhonario flipped behind him and threw a dagger at his neck.  The smoke began to clear, as four sith looked straight at Jhonario.  Jhonario flipped up his goggles.
Sebastien came out of the right side fighting using a mix of Dulon and Knifist.  Jhonario was distracted watching for a moment.  Sebastien had an elegant mixed style that made his body look like he was dancing while fighting; and at times, he moved like liquid.
Jhonario, distracted, almost got hit by sith saber strike.  He jumped 15 feet up to the ceiling and grabbed on to a pipe.  Jhonario threw a knife at one, dodges a saber throw from another.  He nearly slips from the pipe, but instead backflips back and falls into a roll.  He then kicks off from the nearby wall and lodges a throwing dagger in a sith’s gut.
Just then, Jhonario receives a blow from behind that knocks him unconcious.  A shockwave fills the room and the sith fighting Sebastien is blown towards the wall.
Sebastien looks over and sees Argentim holding a limp Jhonario by the scuff of his jacket.
“You don’t wish to fight me,” said Argentim with a wave of his hand.
“I don’t wish to fight me – uhh you!”
Argentim smirks.  Sebastien smiles as if he understands.
“Get in the pod, dork.”
“You don’t have to tell me twice!”
Argentim placed Jhonario gently into the escape pod with Sebastien.  Sebastien began working on the controls, as Jhonario slowly opened his eyes to see Argentim standing near a cowering Dargon.
Just then, a glowing red figure comes out of the right side, and Argentim looks over.
“KHARIN!!” yelled Jhonario.
The door slid shut.
“Hold on, dude, we’re getting out of here!”
“SEBASTIEN, WHAT ARE YOU-“
“Trust me, she’s fine.  Everything’s fine.  She’s in good hands.  Can’t really say the same for Dargon.”
Jhonario raised an eyebrow.
“You know something, don’t you?”
“Yea, I know everything.  He really should have just showed up alone.  Damn messy affair.  You did a good job though – damn good job.”
Jhonario looked down at the floor as if deep in thought.
“Don’t worry, I’m sure he’ll explain everything.”
“I really hate being in the dark.”
Suddenly, Jhonario heard a voice:
“This has all been in the plans from the beginning.  You have been kept hidden for a reason.  Archon, your father, is a sith.  I made a vow to him that I would protect you.  I’ve arranged for you to join the Dark Jedi Brotherhood.  You’ll be safe from the oncoming war, but you’ll also be able to enhance your skills.  We love you, m’boy.  It’s for the best..”
Jhonario’s eyes shot open.
“Argentim knew my dad??”
“Yup, see, there ya go.  I told you he’d explain it.”  Sebastien cracks a smile.  “Come on buddy, let’s go make appearances.”
The pod shot off toward Tatooine.  Somehow, Jhonario knew he was going to enjoy this vacation.

"One night in Ryloth makes the tough guys crumble..."
―Ryl Proverb

Jhonario, the prodigy

Personality

Jhonario is very clever. He always seems to take the smart route in doing anything. He will also criticize others who make things more difficult for themselves. In fact, he believes himself to be smarter than most. He is a snob. In rare occasions, he can also be a "grammar nazi."

Jhonario is also very limber and athletic. He likes working out, and making all of his muscles stronger. He likes the feeling of his muscles being sore, in the sense that it means he is becoming stronger.

In terms of sexuality, he is largely aloof. If could even be said that he is asexual. He dislikes and resents his own people's embrace of sexuality in culture. As he grew older, this drove him further apart from his peers. He knew he was meant for more than carnal pleasure-seeking.

Jhonario has two loves: technology and music. He used to play the xantha when he was younger. He also used his childhood droid as a customize-able computer, and did alot of the upgrading by itself. Unfortunately, this served to further separate him from the "social butterflies" in his peer group.

Jhonario's attitude and general demeanor is usually joking. He doesn't tend to take alot of things seriously - this includes dangerous situations. At times, he can be a bit snarky, and this can annoy people.

Fighting Style

Jhonario is agile, acrobatic, and hard to catch.

He is trained in Dulon, Hapan, and a bit in Jeswandi; but he now wants to learn Shadow Fist. He is becoming more aggressive as he learns more of the sith arts. His strength comes from a childhood of servitude and military training.

Childhood

Jhonario was the youngest of two. His older sister, Kharin, was hardly ever around. She escaped slavery when Jhonario was 7, and Jhonario was soon to follow. Jhonario escaped the mining camp with his parents when he was about 12. He had one duty: to set off a large chain explosion around the perimeter. Most of the dirtier fighting was going on inside. The three of them made it off the planet alive with the help of a friendly sympathizer - Jago Yashin, a young and wealthy starship tycoon, who had supplied most of the imperial fleet on the planet with vehicles. After that, Jhonario and his family became nomads, living in imperial colonized worlds under new names.

Family and Friends

Kharin L'assaut

Kharin is Jhonario's older sister. She is free-spirited and reckless; and tends to get herself into trouble.

QRT-64, aka "QWERTY"

The QRT line of droids was produced by Industrial Automaton around the turn of the century as companions for Imperial children. These models were also sometimes given as gifts to members of the "slave races" who were under the employ of the Empire. It was thought that, because these droids contained simpler programming, less civilized races would not be able to use these droids much to their advantage. What IA didn't realize was that these droids were also very easy to mod out, due to the inefficient (some would say primitive) use of space in their design. QWERTY was given to Jhonario at the age of 3. By the time he was 5, it had been upgraded with a complex AI capable of understanding Ryl and basic, as well as a robust, modular speech synthesizer. Archon and Doria L'assaut spared no expense for the education of their children.

Alliances

The Force Punks

While staying in Nar Shaddaa, Jhonario became involved in a lot of their social conflict. It is nearly impossible to not be aware of the plutocracy in underground circles of the planet. The rich - especially the Hutts - take their pick of territory, while native citizens and natural-born denizens of the planet become disenfranchised. The Force Punks started as a group of friends who enjoyed Nar Shaddaa's nightlife and free spice trade. As more and more aliens moved in to capitalize, the poor were pushed further and further away into ghettos and slums. The Force Punks began to recruit youth - many of whom were force adepts - into a mobile force, capable of making the average hedonistic vulture capitalist very afraid. Jhonario became took shelter with this group as a means to stay safe in the turbulent streets. Eventually, he began to even take their cause.

TFP Leader: Sebastien Ryder

Sebastien became the patron saint of The Force Punks, even though he technically was not born on Nar Shaddaa. He gained a lot of charisma as a leader due to the fact that he is not corrupted by money and stands firm on moral issues. As a leader, he is benevolent. Sebastien is also a force adept and a "aspect zero" - meaning that he has an exceptional ability to handle battle enhancing drugs, nearly twice as many as the average person.

History

The Early Years

Jhonario was born on Ryloth in the year 10 ABY to a family of Twi'lek slaves. Jhonario's childhood idol was always Darth Vader, and he felt early on in life that he was meant for great things in the universe. Since then he has sought all types of knowledge: in combat, military strategy, and leadership. Jhonario believes that there are two sides of the dictatorship coin, and that sometimes you need to kill in order to make peace. In terms of morality, Jhonario keeps his family closest. All others take a much lesser importance in his mind.

A New Direction

In the beginning of Jhonario's training, he was a Republic agent. He believed allying himself with a strong army would help him grow. Along his travels, he became more exposed to the phenomenon of the force, and came to find out that he himself had some connection to the force. He became more and more aware with the connection between the mysterious One-Sith and his family. The Dlarit Corporation gave him an opportunity to stay in touch with both.

Tales

Stuck on Khar Delba

“We continue?” QWERTY asked in his odd computer-like tone.

“Yes, yes, I’m trying to navigate here. Calm down..,” Jhonario fired back in an agitated whisper.

“The next right is in…5…meters-“

“Blasted GPS… No, I mean hold on.”

At this point, it was time to admit that Jhonario was stalling. The cave had an eerie quietness to it. No spy enjoys struggling to be quieter than their surroundings. What could be around that corner? Jhonario really didn’t want to find out. In fact, he didn’t even like caves… or ice, for that matter. Jhonario didn't fully understand why he’d been sent Khar Delba. It wasn’t as if there was a lot to see on this planet – just a bunch of rocks and ice. They were looking for something ancient: a holocron made by a dark lord named, Vestivus. Why anyone would want to find this thing, he couldn't figure. Surely it was of no relevance anymore? The Sith had been so marginalized that they barely had influence anymore. And how could this thing be of any military importance in the present time? Furthermore, why was he only qualified to take a mission like this?

He could have been working for credits somewhere; but credits never seemed to attract his attention. Credits never seem to interest someone with motivation, and Jhonario definitely had it. Motivation to improve, to conquer, to rule? What was it that he was after? The Republic Army was not his own vision for his future - it was certainly not what his father wanted for him. Archon L'assaut was an imperial soldier. After the fall of the Sith Empire, he disappeared. If Archon was around to see his only son a member of the Republic, he would have a heart attack. This had always caused a conflict within him. He longed to be effectual, to make an impact. That was pretty much the crux; the heart of the matter. He was sure of one thing, though – that his life decisions were better than his sister's.

Jhonario's sister, Kharin, was a slave to her dreams. She had run off to dusty old Korriban to become a Sith when she was only 13. Father was powerless to stop her. After all, the L'assaut family had gained their freedom only by being bold and reckless. To be complacent and stagnant was never a real choice in father's mind. He could never deny that drive to his only daughter. At the time, he only wished that she would fly as far as her heart could take her. He never could have predicted that she would become entangled with enemies of the empire – Darth Argentim, an evil dark lord; and Captain Dargon Jackson of the Republic.

Just then, Jhonario heard what sounded like a shockwave, followed by something large dropping through ice. The very ground shook with a loud rumble.

“Q, get over here!” yelled Jhonario, excitedly. Immediately, the two were hugging the wall.

“Hmh, must have been the next room,” Jhonario mused.

The two explorers were intrigued but unafraid. Jhonario had decided mentally that there was nothing that he could lose; and QWERTY, being an astromech droid, was lacking in fight-or-flight response. Jhonario and QWERTY slowly yet valiantly edged around the corner, hoping that the ice wouldn’t break under their weight.

Just then, a small crack revealed itself under them. Jhonario lept like an akk dog away from danger. As if he knew it was coming, he looked straight behind him at QWERTY. QWERTY was having difficulty gaining traction on the ice. Jhonario grabbed him the force just as the ice fall beneath him.

“Gotcha, buddy.”

Jhonario slipped on his own feet, and almost dropped QWERTY. A half-second later, Jhonario had regained his orientation and his hold on the droid. Jhonario struggled to move him to safety, and only barely got him there. Jhonario waited for a moment, clutching his computerized friend sideways on the icy floor.

“QRT-64 temperature is low!”

“Yea, I’ll bet. Volume down, please.”

“Volume has been lowered, master,” said QWERTY exactly 5 decibels softer.

“Well, friend, any ideas?”

“Shockwave detected from USC Milliventure. Right auxilliary thruster damage. Luxury cargo hull damaged. Casualties-“

“WHAT?!”

That was Dargon’s flagship. Last he had heard, Kharin had run off to get married with that lowlife Republic grunt.

“Oh no…” Jhonario muttered to himself, almost as if he could see what was about to happen next.

Just then, a second shockwave tore through the ceiling. Jhonario took a sensation that felt like a million miles of brick wall being dropped on him. It was a couple hundred grams of ice, but it might as well have been thousands. Jhonario had barely enough time to cover his face. And here he laid for a good while. He was unable to move and barely able to breathe. All he could do at this point was breathe.

Jhonario felt totally hopeless. In all probability, his sister was going to die, and so would he. Deep inside, he knew that Argentim was behind this. He was the only person who would try to fight Dargon Jackson’s fleet, and the only Darth who could possibly do that much damage.

“What the hell am I doing to do?” he thought. He struggled to turn his head to the left, only managing 45 degrees. QWERTY was there in his peripheral vision, quietly staring with his singular eye.

“…Master?” QWERTY said softly in a shaky, rattling voice.

“Q…”

“You are alive, master. I am pleased to receive this input.”

Jhonario managed a half-smile, and a single tear started to trickle down his cheek. Jhonario was not relieved. He knew they were going to die here. Active recon duty started quick, and ended quick. This was it.

Suddenly, a luminescent bubble emerged from Jho’s body, surrounding him. The bubble seemed to push all ice away from him, and QWERTY as well. Jhonario’s eyes widened and his heart jumped two speeds.

“Temporal disturbance detected, presumed force power-,“ Q stated in a monotone as his voice trailed off. Just as suddenly as the force bubble had appeared, he was now being pulled up; and at increasing speeds. Jhonario looked up and noticed the ice most definitely was clearing out of the way, as if someone else was doing it. And then, he realized what was happening. A strong scowl struck across Jho’s face like lightning.

“You karking bastard..” he muttered, still rising.

Within a small moment, Jhonario was free of the ice, and now floating 30 feet above a large ice chasm. Jhonario flailed hopelessly, as if wading in deep water. His body slowly turned by itself, and across the chasm, he saw a line of hooded figures. He could see and hear the figures turning to eachother and talking. Otherwise, though, they were wrapped in shadow. One of the figures stepped forward. As he began to remove his hood, Jhonario already knew who it was.

“ARGENTIM!!!” He screamed with sheer venom, his eyes like angry lazers burning into his vision. Darth Argentim was a giant, bald rattataki with a tattooed, silver face. His eyes were cold and just as silver as his skin. He had a proud smirk on his face, and if he knew he had achieved what he wanted to do.

Suddenly, Argentim spoke.

“YOU are treading on unsafe ground, little sithling..,” said Argentim.

“DON’T call me a sith, I’m not like one of you!” Jhonario shot back.

“Not a sith? But you show such promise!”

“I’m here on vacation. I have no idea what you’re talking about..”

“Don’t play with me, boy. I know exactly what you’re doing here. Your master is after a holocron! A holocron of… Darth… VESTIVUS... Am I wrong?”

“What did you do to my sister?!”

“I have removed the traitor! I have removed the obstacles for you. You want the holocron? You want power? You want to learn the secret ancient force phantom technique? It’s right here!” Argentim yelled, as he produced a glowing red pyramid from his robes. “Do you have what it takes, little sithling? I’ve seen you move things with your mind. I know Kharin teaches you. Where has it gotten you, boy?” Argentim yelled through a boastingly proud smile. Jhonario’s face literally exploded with anger. As he struggled to push back Argentim’s strong force binding, Argentim watched eagerly. After a while, his face melted into a frown. “I see..,” said Argentim.

His eyes erupted with fire as he pushed Jhonario outward with a forceful blast. Jhonario spun and tumbled and landed in a soft cushion of snow; though it did not feel soft to Jhonario due to his flying velocity. Jhonario was once again trapped, but this time, he could easily escape. He could sense that the figures were not coming towards him. In fact, they were walking away, as if there was nothing more to see. Argentim’s thought seemed to reach Jhonario’s mind somehow:

“You will grow powerful, boy. But first, I will mold you. And if you will not be molded, you will die. You are not yet ready to master the force. First, you must master combat. We will see eachother very soon, apprentice. Be ready…”

Jhonario opened his eyes in an unfamiliar room. He was laying on a table. There were bright, almost blinding lights above him. Jhonario quickly noticed that this was a medical ward. He looked to his left , and there was QWERTY, piled in a corner, his lights faintly blinking. He then noticed the Republic insignia on a cloth on the wall, and there was someone coming from behind the door. This was not going to end well.

Life takes one in strange directions. The force has a tendency to wrap beings in its power, trap them in its causes, and leave them changed forever. On the icy, barren cliffs of Khar Delba, Jhonario found himself. He knew when he was signing up for the army that it would change his life, he just didn't know how. Khar Delba was a peaceful place now - eerily so - yet it contained the seething spirits of so many fallen warriors. So many beings of different races had come here; to claim a legend, a story. And so now, as Jhonario finds himself in the same predicament. So many who are strong enough to stand up and claim their destiny are powerless to change their fate.

Seed
