The ICTE has always been a source of confusion for new members, given the more complex structure of it as opposed to other gaming nights or tournaments such as SIT. The rules have suffered few modifications since their creation. The latest revamp is dated December 2006.
===Players' Proviso===
*All participants in ICTE must attend the #outerrim IRC channel during the contest.
*All players must arrange their matches through the gamebot, matches that are reported without the prior use of the bot will not be counted for.
*Players may play up to three 1v1 games per person, regardless of platform. Example: player A will play player B twice in JO, and once in BF2. No more matches can be played after the third game has been reported.
===Teamed Play Pattern===
*Let x be the number of players in a match. In this formation, the players may dispute up to three games. If one of them leaves, the group can't play three more games, but they can play another three games providing they find x/2 new players. So, if you do 3 matches 2v2, you can get 2 replacements and play them 3 times again. If x is odd, round it up to base. For a 2v1, play 3 games, then change one player and play again, etc, etc, etc.
*Players may still dispute 1v1 matches with their opponents or teammates from team matches, within the current match limit.
===Conditional Game Plays===
*JA/JO/RC games are played first to five kills.
*BF/BF2/EaW games are played until the game decides a wining side. Games are reported as 1-0 for the winner, 0-1 for the loser.
*XWA/XvT/Allegiance are played until the time limit expires. Games are reported using the full score.
*All 1vs1 JO/JA/RC matches are played until one of the opponents reaches at least 5 kills.
*All 1vs2 matches are played until one team reaches 8 kills.
*All 2vs2 TFFA (Team Free For All)  JO/JA matches are played until one team reaches at least 10 kills.
*All "x"vs"y" TFFA JO/JA matches are played until one team reaches at least (x+y)*2.5 kills…In the case of fractional kills, round up.
*All CTF (Capture The Flag) matches require at least 2 people on each team.
*All CTF matches are played until one team achieves at least 5 captures.
*In XvT/XWA 1vs1 matches, in order for a match to be declared fair and free of dispute, each opponent is required to serve for at least 5 minutes each to account for the effects of host lag. This equal-hosting-time requirement can be waived, however, if both players agree to only one host.
===Reporting Game Results===
*All results  are directly submitted to the ICTE host as soon as the games over by IRC private messages or email if the ICTE host mentions the availibility
*Do ''not'' report matches via the Dark Brotherhood database.
*Do report scores to the ICTE host in this format  as follows.
XWA 1vs1: DB1107 Pyralis 24 -vs- DB4359 MERLANCE 19
JA 2vs2 TFFA: DB188 Xanos Sadow, DB3342 Duga, 20 -vs- DB1107 Pyralis, DB4046 Kraval, 18

Definition

The Inter-Club Training Event, or ICTE for short, is a gaming tournament held every Saturday in the IRC channel #outerrim. It is hosted by the Dark Brotherhood, who designate a Tribune as the general manager.

History and Background

The Inter-Club Training Event (ICTE) began around May 2003, with the purpose of promoting inter-club relations and gaming between the Rebel Squadron and the Dark Brotherhood. Later on, more clubs adhered to the ICTE such as the Star Vipers, Galactic Empire, and New Republic Fifth Fleet. While the ICTE maintains a similar structure to other gaming nights or tournaments such as SIT, it's main goal is to prepare the players for true, inter-club vendettas such as the Outer Rim War, hence the title of training event. The ICTE should always be referred to as such, and never as a ruthless contest or a free for all event, but a training event for new comers, and veterans alike, a place to share experience and make new friends among allied clubs.

The ICTE rapidly grew into a very successful weekly gaming tournament, having at least 20-25 participants each edition, and a place for players to relax and unwind after a hard week.

Basic Rules

The ICTE has always been a source of confusion for new members, given the more complex structure of it as opposed to other gaming nights or tournaments such as SIT. The rules have suffered few modifications since their creation. The latest revamp is dated December 2006.

Players' Proviso

  • All participants in ICTE must attend the #outerrim IRC channel during the contest.
  • All players must arrange their matches through the gamebot, matches that are reported without the prior use of the bot will not be counted for.
  • Players may play up to three 1v1 games per person, regardless of platform. Example: player A will play player B twice in JO, and once in BF2. No more matches can be played after the third game has been reported.

Teamed Play Pattern

  • Let x be the number of players in a match.
  • Players may still dispute 1v1 matches with their opponents or teammates from team matches, within the current match limit.

Conditional Game Plays

  • JA/JO/RC games are played first to five kills.
  • BF/BF2/EaW games are played until the game decides a wining side. Games are reported as 1-0 for the winner, 0-1 for the loser.
  • XWA/XvT/Allegiance are played until the time limit expires. Games are reported using the full score.
  • All 1vs1 JO/JA/RC matches are played until one of the opponents reaches at least 5 kills.
  • All 1vs2 matches are played until one team reaches 8 kills.
  • All 2vs2 TFFA (Team Free For All) JO/JA matches are played until one team reaches at least 10 kills.
  • All "x"vs"y" TFFA JO/JA matches are played until one team reaches at least (x+y)*2.5 kills…In the case of fractional kills, round up.
  • All CTF (Capture The Flag) matches require at least 2 people on each team.
  • All CTF matches are played until one team achieves at least 5 captures.
  • In XvT/XWA 1vs1 matches, in order for a match to be declared fair and free of dispute, each opponent is required to serve for at least 5 minutes each to account for the effects of host lag. This equal-hosting-time requirement can be waived, however, if both players agree to only one host.

Reporting Game Results

  • All results are directly submitted to the ICTE host as soon as the games over by IRC private messages or email if the ICTE host mentions the availibility
  • Do not report matches via the Dark Brotherhood database.
  • Do report scores to the ICTE host in this format as follows.
XWA 1vs1: DB1107 Pyralis 24 -vs- DB4359 MERLANCE 19
JA 2vs2 TFFA: DB188 Xanos Sadow, DB3342 Duga, 20 -vs- DB1107 Pyralis, DB4046 Kraval, 18

All-Stars

The term All-Star designates the absolute winner of an ICTE edition. Although each edition has its winners, a player is eligible for All-Star status only if he meets the following requisites:

  • Has played against 7 different opponents, either in 1v1 or team games
  • Has obtained a minimum of 12 Clusters of Fire

Note that if that 3 people have met the following requisites, and were situated in the top three places in the respective edition, they will receive Cr-R, Cr-A and Cr-S in that order. If only one or two players met the above requirements, they receive third level crescents, Cr-A and Cr-S, or Cr-A if there is only one person qualified for All-Star. Allied Clubs have different awards for players (Ex: Imperial Combat Cross for top three placing --- Galactic Empire).
