Ganrea Beeliz, the Executive Officer of the Eighth Fleet of the Fleet of the Iron Throne, is a Human female from Corellia. She has served as the second-in-command of the Fleet since its inception after being appointed by Commodore Joss Malin, commander of the Eighth, with the consent of the Grand Master. She currently holds the rank of Rear Admiral.

Beeliz was born to two middle-class merchants in 5 BBY in Coronet. Her father, Awthlan Beeliz, owned a business that sold and serviced speeders, droids, and other high tech devices, and her mother, Rainea Beeliz, ran the storefront near the center of the city. Though they were far from rich, they made a modest income and were able to provide a comfortable living for themselves and their only child. Ganrea helped her mother in the store as a teenager, quickly developing an understanding and love for machinery, and, coupled with her above-average marks in the private school her parents had placed her in after the Imperial occupation, she was easily able to overcome discrimination against her gender to join the Imperial Navy as a cadet in 13 ABY. She proved to be an adept pilot and a quick study of strategy, two qualities which garnered her quick advancement. She was a Lieutenant in the Imperial Navy when she was assigned to newly-minted Grand Admiral Stephan Ronin’s strike fleet, aptly titled the Emperor’s Hammer.

Her service in the Emperor’s Hammer was nothing short of exemplary, and she quickly rose, after the fall of the Emperor and the EH’s spin-off as a self-sufficient Imperial remnant organization, to the position of Joss Malin’s personal assistant when he was a Lieutenant Commander in the Emperor’s Hammer. When he fell out of favor with the High Command of the Emperor’s Hammer, Ganrea took over command of the fighter squadron that Malin has previously occupied. Though she had some regrets over what she felt was an affront to Malin in taking over after his fall from grace, she nonetheless overcame her difficulties, eventually being elevated to Wing Commander over her old squadron as well as a number of others.

Even with her new position and its accompanying rank boost – this time to Major – Ganrea was becoming more and more unsatisfied with the leadership of the Emperor’s Hammer. It was at the time of the Split within the Dark Brotherhood that she decided to alter the path that fate seemingly laid out for her. Tasked with following a number of the squadrons that were fleeing in support of the Seven, she instead ordered her wing to stand down. Quickly spiriting herself away in her personal ship, the Missile Boat Depths of Despair, she linked up with a few elements of the “rebel” Dark Brotherhood, who warily took her in.

Eventually making it to Antei, Ganrea was surprised (to say the least) to find her former superior Joss Malin. Malin forgave her for taking over his position, assuring her that any rational person would have taken the offer. Both served, albeit not together, in the naval forces of the Iron Throne during the Yuuzkhan Vong invasion. After the debacle that was the Battle of Antei, Ganrea was instrumental in assisting the Dark Council put together plans for the new armed forces of the Iron Throne. It served as no surprise, then, when Joss Malin was appointed as the commander of the Eighth Fleet of the Navy of the Iron Throne, that he selected Ganrea as his Executive Officer. In recognition of her previous service, she was promoted to Rear Admiral and unanimously confirmed as Malin’s Executive Officer.
