The Doomsday functions to compliment the already awesome firepower allowed Clan Tarentum through the VSD Corsair. The heavy armament make the Doomsday idea for knocking out ships up to a Light Cruiser class.
The Doomsday is normally part of the Tarentum Raiding Force, along with M-CRV Creeping Death and M/CRV Cerberus. The Doomsday provides the firepower for light raiding and covert operations, while the faster Corvettes provide fighter cover and fast attack capability. Alternatively, the Doomsday with its escorts act as part of Battlegroup Kraken to augment the main force of the Clan's Fleet.
The Doomsday is named in honor of the late Fleet Admiral Doomsday.
