DJBWiki:Code of Conduct

From Wikipedia of the Dark Brotherhood, an online Star Wars Club

In an effort to limit misleading and inflammatory content, the Dark Brotherhood is developing a Code of Conduct for Wiki Authors and Registered Users. All members who use the DJBWiki are bound by the Dark Jedi Brotherhood’s Code of Conduct and the rules explained on the article below. All users will be held accountable to the Chamber of Justice under Article VIII of the Dark Covenant and to the Dark Jedi Brotherhood Wiki Etiquette page. Suggestions for this article are welcome on the Talk page.

General Guidelines

  • Register/Login before editing.
  • Be mindful that the DJBWiki is a collective project, with many users able to edit nearly every article. Don’t feel bad if your edits get changed.
  • Disagreements happen. When they do, try to be civil.
  • Remember – we’re all just people. We all make mistakes from time to time.
  • When faced with a problem, ask the DJBWiki Staff.

DJBWiki Specific Rules

Registration

  • Anyone who wishes to edit of any article needs to register first.
  • Failure to register may result in an IP ban.
  • DJB members are expected to use their DJB Character’s Name as their login name.
  • Spaces can be used in registration/login names.

Editing Behavior

  • All members are required to log in before editing.
  • Registered users will have access to add and edit DJBWiki content, but may be restricted from any article at any time. Article Talk pages should explain any denied access, except in the case of any Category:DJB Official Document. Official DJB Documents can only be changed by Administrators or Dark Council.
  • Members are encouraged to write articles from a factual basis, with as little personal influence as possible. Sometimes this is unavoidable, in that the facts stir emotional debates or an opposing viewpoint. However, no member is to use these articles as a lauchpad for their personal vendettas. Creating or editing articles for the purpose of defaming any part of the Dark Jedi Brotherhood will place the offending user on the list of known vandals. Repeat offenders will be referred to the Chamber of Justice.
  • DJBWiki Vandalism will not be tolerated. DJBWiki vandalism is generally defined as editing a wiki in a way that is intentionally disruptive or destructive. There are four generally acknowledged types of vandalism: deletion of legitimate information, insertion of nonsense or irrelevant content, addition of unwanted commercial links (spam), and policy violations specific to that wiki. Dark Jedi Brotherhood members who participate in Vandalism will have their content removed, receive a warning, and be added to a list of "known DJBWiki Vandals". Repeat offenders will be sent to the Chamber of Justice.
  • Disagreements should be discussed on the article’s Talk page, not on the main article.
  • A person’s own character article should only be edited by the owner. Minor edits (spelling corrections, etc.) are acceptable for anyone to perform.

Content

  • The DJBWiki is a resource for the Dark Jedi Brotherhood. Try not to create articles about things that already exist in the Star Wars Universe. External links to the Star Wars Databank or Wookieepedia are acceptable.
  • New articles should only be created after proper research has been conducted to ensure that the subject has not been covered.
  • A character article should never replace their DJB dossier and/or ACC Character sheet.
  • To maintain continuity, article titles are expected to be written in American English.
  • Articles should be written in American English, despite user’s country of origin.
  • All articles are subject to corrective action without warning for any of the following:
    • Spelling/Grammar
    • Formatting (text or images)
    • Administrative issues (such as Category inclusion/exclusion)
