More of a philosophy than a style, Close Quarters Battle (CQB) can have it’s roots in almost any form, with almost any weapon. The epitome of adaptation, the CQB practitioner is highly skilled in physically closed environments. Their senses are keen to sound and other anomalies that generate within tight spaces giving them a great deal of advantage in hallways and small rooms. Troopers are especially skilled in this ability, training for weeks on end to snuff out Rebels hiding in urban locations. A dagger and/or pistol are often the weapons of choice, with a close second being explosives. Explosives play a key role in “flushing out” adversaries, and the practitioner of a CQB style is highly skilled in structural assessments and a wide range of architectural formats. This helps them to know when, where, why and how to place a charge to attain the desired result, if they can’t get you out – they’ll take the building down. Intentional, vicious, quick and cunning, CQB artists are more than formidable in their environment, they are deadly.
