Lightsaber Combat

Use in the Character Sheets

Upon reaching the rank of Protector, members gain access to their first Lightsaber Form: Banlanth. It is not until Dark Jedi Knight/Jedi Knight where a member will gain access to the Core Forms. Furthermore, Dark Jedi Knight/Jedi Knight’s also have access to a secondary lightsaber form.

While the Lightsaber Guide is under construction, this page has been designed as a quick reference to each form's prerequisite rank. Please note that the Guide is still in progress and as such any information presented here is subject to change.

Training Form

Banlanth Training

Prerequisite: Minimum rank of Protector

Banlanth is the basic training form of the Dark Brotherhood, comprised of basic attacks and defensive movements.

Forms

Form I: Shii-Cho

Prerequisites: Minimum rank of Dark Jedi Knight/Jedi Knight

Brutal and deceptively direct, this most ancient lightsaber form is a favorite of those who prefer a more direct solution to combat.

Form II: Makashi

Prerequisites: Minimum rank of Dark Jedi Knight/Jedi Knight

Elegant and svelte, the "Duelist's Form" focuses definitively on saber on saber combat.

Form III: Soresu

Prerequisites: Minimum rank of Dark Jedi Knight/Jedi Knight

Quick and reflexive, Soresu's defenses are intensely effective and is often referred to as the reason so many jedi survived as long as they did.

Form IV: Ataru

Prerequisites: Minimum rank of Dark Jedi Knight/Jedi Knight

Ataru is known for overwhelming aggressive barrages and wildly kinetic positioning.

Form V: Djem So

Prerequisites: Minimum rank of Dark Jedi Knight/Jedi Knight

Aggression used in defense, Djem So seeks to use an opponent’s own weapons against them.

Form VI: Niman

Prerequisites: Minimum rank of Dark Jedi Knight/Jedi Knight

Diversity in defense and offense, Niman uses maneuvers from many forms in striving for perfection.

Form VII: Juyo

Prerequisites: Minimum rank of Dark Jedi Knight/Jedi Knight

Purely virulent, Juyo chains raw aggression into brutally acrobatic attacks.

Advanced Forms

Jar'Kai

Prerequisites: Minimum rank of Dark Side Adept/Force Adept

Blindingly quick, those who master the two sabers of Jar'Kai Niman can unleash flurries of precise strikes.

Vapaad

Prerequisites: Minimum rank of Dark Side Adept/Force Adept

Teetering on the edge of malevolence, Vaapad uses emotion as fuel for its unpredictability.

Trakata

Prerequisites: Minimum rank of Equite 2

Unpredictable and abrupt, Trakata is reviled by those uncomfortable with its murderous style.

Lus Ma

Prerequisites: Mimimum rank of Dark Jedi Master/Jedi Master

Once thought lost, this devastatingly offensive style is known only to the most dedicated and powerful.

Shien

Prerequisites: Minimum rank of Equite 2

The reverse grip, violent strikes, and diverse weapons of Shien lends itself well to the more warlike users.

Sokan

Prerequisites: Minimum rank of Dark Side Adept/Force Adept

Maddeningly dynamic, this acrobatic throwback to ancient times uses unorthodox angles of attack and impassable defense.

Dun Moch

Prerequisites: Minimum rank of Equite 2

Using vulgar displays of the Force in tandem with the saber, Dun Moch users seeks to dominate the spirit.

Praetoria Twins

Prerequisites: Minimum rank of GMRG Rank VI/Fictional Society Rank VI

Whether for offense or defense, the Whole is devastatingly greater than the Sum of its parts.
