There are excessive red links on this page, however, I intend to use said links as a check list to go through the AAF and create pages for them. It'll take time, so bear with me. Sashar Tues 8th Jan 1.30pm (GMT)
Is it absolutely necessary to have a page for each and every Brigade unit? I really don't see the necessity of these. Please give me some viable and logical reasons as to why I should not have them deleted. --Tron 23:32, 14 February 2008 (MST)
Seems like the same thing CSP did with starfighter squadrons. At the least, you could probably make a separate page for each type of brigade so then you're not as constrained making one large, single page. --Shadow Taldrya 00:23, 15 February 2008 (MST)
A seperate page will be made for each of the unit types, just as there are for starfighter types. The reason for the Brigades each having their own pages is chieftly because in the many ROs and fictional, only certain brigades will be used, based on where the RO is set etc. Mejas and I both believe that having a rich fictional background for our military will encourage the clan to use it properly in ROs and fictions, rather than God-Moding them being able to produce thousands of troops to just kill off on a whim. Also, part of Arcona's reward scheme is being assigned 'armsmen' in reward for training apprentices to DJK. This will allow the clan to keep track of those.
Finally, In the past Arcona has been criticised for having pages that keep too much info on one page and have been urged to make a few more smaller pages. Whilst I can see that on the day of creation it may be irritating to the wiki staff, as the simultaneous creation of a lot of brigade pages will prevent them from viewing the other pages that have been made or edited, the information that will be contained within each of the brigade pages would simply be too much to keep on one page that is meant primarily for quick reference, rather than a detailed description.
Oh, as an addendum, there might be some confusion regarding the nomenclature. We are using the term 'brigade' in place of regiment - not in reference to a much smaller unit. The reasoning behind this was in part not wanting to appear as if we were copying any of the other clan's OOBs - I'm sure you're all aware of the CoJ case that resulted the last time someone tried that. So we're not trying to create a page for every 100 or so soldiers, it's just that brigade covers a larger number in the Arc OOB. --Sashar 03:54, 15 February 2008 (MST)
