History

The planet of Athiss is located in the Sith Worlds Region of the Outer Rim Territories. Shrouded in the Stygian Caldera and positioned along the Descri Wris hyperlane, Athiss was located in close proximity to Korriz and Ziost. Considered a lesser Sith Planet, Athiss was often overlooked by galactic explorers and barely warranted observation by the Sith Empire.

Despite the planet’s anonymity, the surface of Athiss is littered with unexplored ruins and pulses with the oppressive feeling of the Dark Side. The ruins of the planet resemble the architecture of the ancient Sith Empire, but non-Sith scripts and incantations litter the planet’s many temples.

Once forbidden to the scholars of the Sith Empire, the ruins have long been associated with the mysterious cult of Vodal Kressh. Kressh, a descendant of Ludo Kressh, failed in an attempted coup against the Sith Emperor and fled to Athiss two hundred years prior to the Cold War. The planet would eventually become Vodal Kressh’s final resting place in the form of an expansive tomb network.

In 34 ABY, the One Sith began incursions on Athiss in an effort to unearth the mysterious of Vodal Kressh’s cult. Intercepted intelligence indicates the One Sith expedition is led by the elusive Sith Lord Esoteric and his private mercenary force. As of 36 ABY, the One Sith element has uncovered multiple cult treasures and have made their way within the tomb of Vodal Kressh.

Geography

Athiss is a small planet covered in deciduous forests and littered with the ruins of the cult of Vodal Kressh. Abandoned for over two thousand years, the planet’s small outposts and temples have been reclaimed by nature, but have been left relatively unexplored.

Points of Interest

The Tomb of Vodal Kressh

The Tomb of Vodal Kressh is an underground complex consisting of multiple passageways and chambers honoring the fallen Sith Lord. Statues depicting Vodal Kressh line the hallways and watch over would be treasure hunters seeking to uncover the tomb’s mysteries. Multiple chambers remain sealed, their doors covered in Sith runes, waiting for the right answer to their dark riddles.

The main tomb chamber possesses the remains of Vodal Kressh and the prophets who sacrificed themselves in his honor. A sarcophagus houses Vodal’s final treasures and scrolls depicting his revolt against the Sith Emperor.

One Sith Spaceport

Erected in 34 ABY, the spaceport was created to support the One Sith’s expedition on Athiss. Designed to provide resupply and off world transport, the spaceport can support one corvette-class ship and multiple star fighters. The facility is supported by two FPC 6.7 Anti-Aircraft Batteries.

The One Sith

Esoteric

The Sith Lord Esoteric is a member of the One Sith Dark Council and serves as the head of One Sith Intelligence. Shrouded in form fitting stealth armor, Esoteric’s species, sex, age, and real name are unknown, but the Sith Lord is humanoid in appearance. Traveling in an as of yet defined pattern, the Esoteric is often off world and it is not believed that he is on Athiss as this time.

Esoteric is a Grand Master level combatant and master of nearly all known Sith powers. His/her personal combat style remains undefined at this time.

Lord Stevan

Lord Stevan is a thirty-eight year old human male who has been a member of the One Sith since their inception. Serving as Esoteric’s number two, the human Sith Lord focuses on intelligence, assassination, and information collection. Assigned to the Athiss expedition, Stevan has led multiple successful incursions into the Tomb of Vodal Kressh. Cunning, devious, and without remorse, Stevan is a dangerous elder level combatant.

Cult Spirits

Jedi Strike forces eradicated many of the followers of Vodal Kressh. The tormented spirits of these dark siders have been identified within the Tomb of Vodal Kressh and within several lesser ruin sites.

Esoteric’s Forces

Utilizing cutting edge stealth technology and weaponry, Esoteric’s private military forces are rated above Imperial and Republic Special Forces. Utilizing drone surveillance, listening devices, and other information capabilities; Esoteric’s private military controls the ground on Athiss. Esoteric’s Soldiers are capable of resisting force suggestion and are trained to engage Force users in combat. They will attempt to overwhelm any single combatants through superior coordination and firepower.
