Species

Please remove your character from Valheru, we agreed to that. Thanks

--Ylith Romanae 10:58, 11 January 2008 (MST)

Once a species is approved as custom the rules explicitly state that it is now free for any DB member to use. From what I understand, Anubis wasn't aware of that fact until recently so anything he agreed to would have been without that knowledge. If he wants to use the species he's well within his rights to do so. --Shadow Taldrya 17:13, 11 January 2008 (MST)

The author of the species hold the rights to prevent people from using it when it isnt meant to be used. Simple as that. --Ylith Romanae 19:56, 11 January 2008 (MST)

Err...no they don't, actually. If you wish to have a custom species used within the DB, then it is "open" for anyone who wishes to use it. However, if someone isn't really following the basics of what that species is, then asking them to make it more in-line is fine. But anyone can use a custom species--Halcyon 20:06, 11 January 2008 (MST)

Well, there should be a protection against it. I dont want apprentice numbnut taking my species and turning it into rabbits or the like. Besides, he has left our clan and defiled our name and I dont like it when he uses my species. I told him on IRC that I would prefer it removed and he agreed to it, I still have the logs to prove it if needed. But I do hope it does not have to come to that. --Ylith Romanae 20:16, 11 January 2008 (MST)

You actually just said "defiled our name". --Xayun

It was late and all, doesnt change the point that I dont want him using my species...I worked over a year to get it approved and I dont want him to ruin it. thats the whole story really.. --Ylith Romanae 06:30, 12 January 2008 (MST)

Hey, retard. Yes you Ylith. You've spoken to me time after time after time about how hard you worked on it, and I've even seen some of the work. You should know by now that I wouldn't screw around with it for the world. Valheru is a kick ass race. As Shad and Halc said, the DB rules state that once a custom race is approved, anyone can use it. Now, if you wish to discuss something like this, do it with the staff or me on some other page or on IRC. If I get hassled any more I'll go to Mejas and Sashar about this. I don't want my talk page as a war zone. Also, thanks to Halc, Shad, and whoever on the heads up.--Anubis 12:19, 12 January 2008 (MST)

Okay, let’s simmer down her e people :P

Ylith, regardless of what Anubis said on IRC, this doesn’t mean you can dictate loopholes on DB policy that’s been established. If you want to be a Valheru, then you have to understand that you can’t be the *only* Valheru – to assume otherwise would be petty. Nobody’s questioning how much you worked to establish this, but why put all the work in if not to share with the rest of the DB so others could enjoy it? Come on man, you’re better than that. And Anubis, don’t sling insults on the talk pages, it doesn’t exactly strengthen your case. - Sashar 12 Jan, 2008. 8.33pm GMT

The most amusing part, I think, is the fact that you're acting as if you didn't just take the Valheru from Raymond E. Feist novels :P --Reality

Alright, Dash you're right. Anubis I am sorry I overreacted, it was my bad and you can use it the way you want. As for Xayun, yes, I did built my species off of the Valheru from Raymond E Feist but after all the changes I have made to fit the Star Wars universe it is nowhere close to them anymore. Anyway, Anubis, I apologize for my behaviour and will help you whenever you need it. --Ylith Romanae 04:58, 13 January 2008 (MST)
