Ric "Blade" Hunter is a Battleteam Leader of House Dorimad Sol of Clan Scholae Palatinae .
Character History
Early Life
Blade was born on the planet Taruma shortly after the Exodus that took the Brotherhood to freedom. He was cloned from tissue that had been carried away by the order of Lady Alanna. Blades first memories were of floating in darkness and then being thrust into the light, the first face he saw was that of his mistress, Lannie. He was given to Lannies sister, Bubbles for retraining and to help him readjust to life.
Upon completion of his training, he was sent off on his trials. It was there that he became what he was destined to be. He used the genetic knowledge to enter into Emperors Hammer space and track down his prime, the person he was cloned from. It was not hard to do as he thought the same as his original. Not surprisingly, his prime was serving in the EH's poor excuse for a brotherhood as the Grandmaster. Seeing that the group was a sham and a total joke, Blade moved in for the kill. It was on the DGN Lichtor V, the Intelligence Division flagship that he made his move.
During the struggle in the dark, it has always been unclear who survived. Was it the clone or the much more powerful original. No one has ever found out...
The Emperor's Hammer
Blade prime, General Ric Taldrya, rose through the ranks as a fighter pilot in the TIECorps. He joined Cobra Squadron and rose through the ranks to the position on Commander. After a longterm tour there, he left to seek other opportunities. It was also there that he came to the notice of the Dark Brotherhood. He apprenticed to KP Bubbles in the clan of Taldryan, becoming a battleteam leader in short order. It was there that he gained bonds that would last for years.
Not long after being elevated to the rank of Dark Jedi Knight, the Brotherhood left the EH territories for freedom. Ric was in command of Cobra Squadron when the order came down to fire on the fleeing Dark Jedi ships. Ric ignored the order and let them go. One of the members of his squadron, LCM Vessicant, also fled according to his conscience. Ric settled back and left the active service of the remnants of the the Brotherhood that stayed behind for reasons of their own.
Concentrating on his flying, serving another tour as a Commander, this time in the Avenger Task Force, Ric was contacted by the group known as Praetorian Squadron. He was intrigued at the chance to fly with the best pilots in the galaxy and left on the day that his 4 month tour ended. He stayed with Praetorian Squadron for years, even becoming Commander for his third time. He stayed in that position until conflict with the Flight Officer made him make a choice. He was also serving as the GrandMaster of the Splintered remnant Dark Brotherhood. He made the choice to serve the darkness and resign as Praetorian Commander. He still had powerful ties to the group and remains as a shadowy adviser to this day.
After a few months, it became apparent that Ric had an uphill battle trying to improve the Brotherhood under the thumb of Assanine. Ric grew frustrated with the lack of leadership from the EH Command Staff and their mismanagement of the fleet. He resigned in disgust and took a vacation.
Not long after, the current Commander of Praetorian Squadron sent Ric a request to rejoin the squadron on active duty. There was bad blood between Ric and the Flight Officer, who Ric saw as a a stickler to the book. After much squabbling between all parties, Ric went to the DGN Lichtor V to prepare to leave EH Space. It was there that he came into contact with the clone from Taruma...
The Dark Jedi Brotherhood
It was never clear exactly who had won, the only thing that was certain that a man that
matched his description down to the genetic coding, left the hanger bay of the Intrepid and
launched for Taruma space. Although the original man had never been to Taruma, his contacts
in the Dark Brotherhood had kept him up to date on his former clan. He made his way back to
find that they had left a skeleton crew to guard the system and had left to engage the
Vong.
He took a fast transport from Taruma and made his way to the Shroud where the battle was
going on. From the reports he had read said, they had engaged the Vong and the Vong had
driven the brotherhood from the Capitol worlds in the Antei system. They had also driven
clan Arcona from their homes, which in the overall scheme of things was no big loss.
After that, Ric returned to his house on Taruma and took to calling himself Blade again. He
continued his training but soon grew unhappy. He decided to seek different training and was
soon in the Cocytus system, the home of Scholae Palatinae. He entered house Caliburnus in
time for the Reclamation action, reclaiming the CSP worlds from the Vong Invaders. After a
short stay in Caliburnus, he ended up in Dorimad Sol as the Aedile.
Soon, Ric stepped down to focus more on his studies of Cloning as well as other ventures.
One of these ventures was commishioned by his clan summit and it involved surevying the
system to see what had changed since the Vong had arrived.
One of his other endevours has been to develop new weapons for the legions, weapons such as
the MAAT/i. The Multi Altitude Assault Transport for Infantry was based on the design for
the LAAT/i of Clone Wars fame. The MAAT/i was designed for insertion from orbit and ship to
ship actions. This would allow the transport ships to stay above the planetary dangers
while still delivering troopers to target zones. This advancement as well as new tactics
earned Ric a spot on the Military High Command as the Marschal in Command of the Marine
forces. Ric took the job very seriously and helped to train the Marines into the elite
force that they are currently in.
recent memories.
A New Era
Once more, Ric was asked to take a position in the house summit when he was offered the
Aediles office. He accepted as he felt that it would benefit the house in the upcoming war
to retake Antei. He did what he could to prepare the house as well as others in the clan.
On a side note, those that know Ric swear that he is older than he looks. What they have
yet to realise is that he has a small cloning facility set up in the frozen wastes of
Caina. Once his clone ages or is damaged, he actiivates a new body complete with his most
