It was developed sometime between the Battle of Hoth and the Battle of Endor when Rebel forces captured an Imperial Interdictor Cruiser and grafted two of its gravity well projectors onto a Loronar-class Strike Cruiser, the Peregrin. The Peregrin was the first Rebel interdictor, and helped to destroy an entire Imperial fleet and the Executer-class Super Star Destroyer Vengeance. When the Empire was defeated, the Rebels resorted to taking old Imperial Interdictor cruisers, rather than financing the production of more Modified Strike Cruisers. |
