Miraak, is a Human male born on the planet Shumari who became the first apprentice to Maelous Ascarend. Found by Ascarend, left for dead and clenching onto life with his last ounce of strength, Miraak was saved by the Dark Jedi and has since sworn loyalty to him and to all of Clan Naga Sadow.
A young and troubled youth, Miraak was born Maximus Sovengarde, heir to the infamous Savengarde wealth of Shumari. For the first few years of his life, he was viewed as the future of the Sovengarde Import & Export Corporation, to which his father held in the highest regards. Once he was found to be a Force Sensitive, his father shunned him due to his own bigotry and Maximus ran, passing various trials in his every day life and eventually assuming the identity of Miraak, in which his inner core finally consumed his outer shell.
