A network of subterranean linked underground modules on the ice world Yridia VI responsible for the mining of lommite ore, zersium ore and many others from the rocky crust. As a side industry Welshman has converted one of the dozen or so modules present in the complex to serve as a “greenhouse” to grow some of the medicinal flora and fauna which exists in some specialist niches on the world.
The complex itself is simplistic in nature and was constructed from prefab modules constructed on Yridia IX and then sunk deep into the ice so the specially constructed mining droids can travel from the base into the ore-rich crust before dumping its load in one of two refineries to be processed into durasteel for sale or use in Tarentum’s industries.
The base itself consists of three levels with each level being subsequently deeper within the frozen strata of the world, with the highest level being the hanger through which a small number of freighters can be loaded/unloaded at a time before leaving, a secondary hanger is situated a slight distance away from the main hub to cater for visiting dignitaries and a small number of Welshman’s fighters.

The second level is mostly Welsh’s personal space; libraries, labs, morgues and arms lockers with all but one, isolated, module being inaccessible to anyone but his guests. The one module which is available is put aside as a recreation module for any freighter pilots or Tarenti who are present on the world to use.
The final floor of his domain is given over the to large machine hangers where his miners are kept and maintained, the material refineries, material silos and the fungal growing house.
Transport between floors and modules is facilitated by a complex system of turbolifts which act to serve as airlocks should the integrity of one of the modules be compromised.
Poen plains were chosen as a base of operations by Welshman as a part of his Baronship within Clan Tarentum.
Industrial output of the mines is in the area of 0.9MTons per annum per ore and 150 tons of refined pharmaceuticals per annum, resulting in a net profit of 4 billion credits for the organisation set up to manage the running of the Poen Plain mining facility, most of these funds find their way back to Tarentum’s coffers however a small percentage seems to find its way into Welshman’s accounts…
