Character History
Sim Vel'Potens' father was a Smuggler and because of his lack of tallent in the trade, he was easily detected and intercepted by one of the Empire's Star Destroyers. His ship was shot down while Sim was accompanying him on one of his smuggling missions. To save his son, the smuggler sacrificed himself by putting his son in the only operational escape pod and dropping him on the nearest habitable planet along with his merchandise. Sim's father then distracted the Star Destroyer that finally destroyed the ship and killed him.
After the crash landing, the young Sim was found by Joane Markyle, a Jedi Padawaan who hid on the planet with her Master during the Jedi Purge. Joane's Master died shortly after their arrival on the deserted planet due to a disease carried by the planet's insects. After a few months of surviving together, Joane noticed the sensitivity Sim had to the force and began to teach him the little training she had received from her master.
A few years later, the two were rescued by Cruise Landon who was looking for a powerful crystal hidden in the cargo dumped on the planet with Sim. Cruise then introduced Sim and Joane to the Dark Jedi Brotherhood. Sim happily joined the group, unlike Joane who was reluctant to trust an organisation with so much different views on the force. Joane was finally convinced by her apprentice and joined the group. Many years later, Joane died by the hand of an unknown assassin. After this tragic event, Sim went rogue to track down this assassin and only returned after justice had been served.
