Shadow Swarm was the one of two battleteams of Dorimad Sol of Clan Scholae Palatinae. It is now closed.
Battle team History
In 32 ABY, the Quaestor of Dorimad Sol, Robin Hawk, decided that in the wake of the defeat of the Clan in during the previous Rite of Supremacy, the strongest members of her House would be pooled into a single battleteam, where their actions could be focused, like the tip of a spear.
The Shadow Swarm battle team would be the product of this pooling of talent. The battleteam would get the entire backing of the House and it's attached military units, as well as first pick of new equipment. Often, members of the House would use customized weapons or specially acquired material, much to the chagrin of the general population of the House.
The name for the battle team was derived from a Ptolomean children's fable of a cave where a swarm of ghosts would attack any hapless passerby. While the non-Jedi of the planet were frightened of this area, and kept away from it at all times, the Sith of Caliburnus had used it for training. The ghosts, or Shadow Swarm as the Sith had named them, were Force spirits, trapped in this cave by unusual deposits of metals and minerals in the walls. The Sith could venture into this cave and either battle the Swarm or try to control it, lead it's movements, and inflict it upon other adventurers.
At first the battle team would be commanderless, as the members would be more a democracy, where orders were a joint effort and discussed before completions. This, however, was a failure waiting to happen. Two of the attached military commanders, Majors both, were killed during a firefight against rebels in the border lands of Caina, while the Shadow Swarm was debating the next move.
Leadership was soon established, with seasoned veterans Rayne Victae and Brent "Archangel" Ligur Victae taking over as commander and executive officer respectively. Rayne had always been a quick thinker and doer, acting on impulse and with deathly accuracy and speed, while Brent leaned more towards planning and strategy. This duality would make for a strong leadership team.
The Shadow Swarm survived until 33 ABY, having participated in the defeat of Acclivis in a House feud. The battle team was dissolved after radical changes occurred to the clan, turning it into a House instead.
Guidelines
- The team is made up of Dark Jedi of excellent martial prowess, tactical understanding and a full and undying loyalty to the House and to the Clan.
- Members are kept anonymous as this might cause undue attention from exterior forces. This attention was not best for a team such as Shadow Swarm
- Members are required to wear dark, non-descript clothing, preferably combat related/rated. Any weapon is allowed, as long as the user can use it to its full potential.
- Members are expected to protect the House and the Clan with their sweat and the blood, their lives even.
