Vessel Info

Formerly named the Palantir, the Sirona is heavily modified corvette in the service of the Shadow Academy. It is used for training, defense, and for official diplomatic missions; the vessel occasionally serves the Knight Commander of the Brotherhood.

History

When the ship was still known as the Palantir, it served in the Brotherhood’s fleet during the time the Brotherhood was associated with the Emperor’s Hammer. During the exodus, the ship was commandeered by supporters of the split, including Kaiann. Filling the cargo space of the ship with valuable books, datadisks, and other assorted items, the ship successfully ran the Emperor’s Hammer’s blockade. Upon his appointment as Headmaster, Kaiann had the ship officially placed under Shadow Academy control. It served as the Academy’s sole ship through the 6th Great Jedi War. The ship saw service in the 5th Great Jedi War, but, to many people’s surprise, the ship was not involved in the Battle of Antei at the end of the 6th Great Jedi War. Then Lord Hegemon Kaiann had secretly managed to keep the ship out of the battle, even though he and Headmaster Anshar had chosen different sides in the conflict. The true cause of the ship’s remaining out of the battle was soon made clear. At the end of the 6th Great Jedi War, Kaiann was purported to have gone crazy and he disappeared. A call was put out to find the rogue Dark Jedi Master and shortly after that, the Palantir suddenly departed from the Shadow Academy. Kaiann had brainwashed a skeleton crew so that they only responded to his commands and he ordered the ship to rendezvous with the small fleet he had secretly amassed over the years. Pursued by Headmaster Anshar, the vessel ultimately became engaged in Kaiann’s attack on Clan Tarentum. During the battle, the ship was disabled, boarded, and recaptured. Most of the crew died defending the ship. Returning to Lyspair, Anshar placed a new crew on the ship and he renamed it the Sirona, after an ancient goddess of healing.
