Character History

Strask Rurra'bek of Clan Tarentum

Family Life

Strask was born to a troubled family on Coruscant. Born to a non-illustrious Bothan family, his initial years were infested with neglect from his parents. As the boy grew older, a natural lust for control emerged from beneath the constant snubbing by his parents. His older brother, Aiden, had escaped to unknown places long before Strask's birth, thus bittering his parents about male children (his younger sister fared much better). Constantly the focus of their hatred and ignorance, his mind was touched by the Dark Side in one particularly intense and stressful verbal duel between him and his parents. The explosive intensity of the telekinetic wave that Strask managed to create has seldom been repeated by him. His parents were thrown from their feet, and the young Bothan, thinking them to be dead, escaped with tears in his eyes and a new feeling of power in his mind.

Roaming the Streets

The planet-wide city of Coruscant provided ample opportunity for work, legal or not, and that is how Strask found himself as the leader of a bunch of teenage pickpockets and thieves. His basic knowledge of the Force aided him in this, and soon he had risen through the gang's hierarchy to become the leader. Rivalry was common between the various gangs, even so none was as celebrated as that which was between Strask and the previous leader, Kreludor. The Bothan was a magnet for distrust, however, he did not know that Kreludor truly deserved that title. One fate-filled day, Kreludor consorted with Strask's band of thieves, and ambushed him. The gang retreated to the sound of police sirens, leaving Strask, and his gang, for dead. Yet, the Bothan survived, remembered, and waited.

Biding his time, Strask finally cornered Kreludor in a lonely spot of the city and challenged him to a fair fight. Kreludor, far stockier, and definitely more muscular, smirked and nodded his head. As the challengers circled each other, men and women formed an audience in the shadows, without either of the combatants showing any knowledge that there were being watched. Just as the first blows were about to be exchanged, thundering cheers erupted. That is when Strask found his opening, maiming his opponent, who was at least twice his size and three times in strength. Force aided punches dug into Kreludor's body and stole his breath away. In what was regarded as his finest performance later by close watchers, the Bothan crushed his opponent's head with his feet. Strask had found a new job.

Rising to Fame

As his powers and strengths grew, the Bothan slowly increased his stealth as well, believing it to be the most efficient use of his racial traits. He would work as a spy most days, while at night, he transformed into the bare-knuckle boxer most knew him as. His experience with the underground was shown by the vibroblade scars on his left arm and shoulder. Even so, he was the reigning champion of the boxing club that he was found at. It was here that he was found by his long lost brother, Aiden, now a Clansman of Scholae. Initially, Elols had great love for his present life. He almost refused, but Aiden's powers radiated such an aura upon the young Bothan, that he quickly accepted. As he left the glittering city of Coruscant, he knew his life would be renewed.

DJB Facts

Strask has been in Gladius and Tridens, as well as the current Tarentum.

Gladius

When Strask first came to the Brotherhood, his brother, Stolz, was in a completely different clan. Strask was placed in Gladius, with Telona Murrage overlooking him. As time passed he was pulled into the Battleteam, and became a Flight Member, soon promoted to Flight Leader. When a position in Tridens opened for a Battle Team Leader, he quickly sent in a request with the approval of his summit. Upon receiving the position, he was transferred to Tridens.

Tridens

After being in the position of Battle Team Leader for only a short while, the team was closed for reasons unknown by Raiju Kang. This put the young Bothan back into a position uncapable of leadership. Feeling he was meant to lead, he requested that he could have the position of Roll Master of Tridens, when the position became available. Raiju pulled him in, and then began Strask in the direction that he is now headed, working his up through the leadership. He would soon follow in his superior's steps, and became the Aedile of Tridens, followed by becoming the Quaestor. Not long after becoming the Quaestor, Strask was force to resign, as problems with his brother leaving required his attention to be outside the Brotherhood.

Battle for Cestus

Strask was with the first group that went to Cestus with Telona. After the ship crash landed on the asteroid, they had many personal encounters with the monstous being that were there. Telona had been infected by the restless, and it was up to a handful of Journeymen to defend her. After fighting there way out of the complex, and help had joined them, they began their evacuation of the fiendish place. As they were leaving with Sith Bloodfyre, a group of restless tore Strask's right arm entirely off, with Telona forcing him into unconsciousness to ease the pain. Rewarded for his efforts on Cestus, Elols received a cybernetic replacement from his clan.
