Shi is the ancient homeworld of the Valheru race. This page details the planet how it has been in its prime, before the raider fleet destroyed the surface of the planet and the species living upon it.

The Planet lies within the Sollet System, which lies within the uncharted regions northwest of the Deep Core and Northwest of the planet Mobus, lying on the edge. The system is surrounded by a thick green cloud also known as the Emerald Veil, which ensured the safekeeping of the planet during various territorial wars before the age of the Old Republic. Found per coincidence, the Raider Fleet saw the Valheru as barbaric and conducted a major genocide upon the planet, robbing it of all life.

It is said that the Valheru themselves have found a new planet somewhere else, but this has not been confirmed yet by any reliable source, until then, Shi is still considered the Homeworld of the Valheru.

"Such pure beauty lost within the river of time for all eternity. I remember it's beauty, unmatched by any planet within this galaxy. "
―Draken Elariël - Last Valheru Pureblood

Shi

Location

The Planet Shi lies within the Unknown Regions, uncharted regions of space Northwest of the Deep Core. Southwest of the planet Mobus lies a thick toxic cloud and is a very dangerous place to fly through. This large toxic cloud shrouding the planet is also as the Emerald Veil, this for the emerald green color it has and its thickness. The Radiation level is high enough to eat its way through any hull and Even with modern technology and shielding, it’s still not recommended to fly through the veil.

Because of its heavy radiation levels, it disrupted any way of scanning and any scouting force through it for millennia of time. This protected Shi from alien invaders so that it could remain hidden for ages. There have been few noted visits to Shi during the ages, the last noted in the history pages were dated back to the birth of the Old Republic, where a small raider fleet visited the planet and engaged in a full-scale assault against the Planet's people.

About one light-year behind the Emerald Veil lies the Sollet system, a small system that could be easily hidden behind the large green cloud. The fourth planet of that system is Shi, in modern times a wasteland planet, but once was a planet full of life.

Planet info

The planet orbits one sun and is the fourth planet of the system. It has two moons orbiting around the planet, one called ‘Silivren’, which means ‘Silver’ in native tongue of the Valheru , and the other called ‘Amlug’, or ‘Dragon’ in native.

The diameter of the planet is approximately 9.432 kilometer and is considered to be a medium classed planet. A year on Shi exists of four-hundred and twelve days, because of this the planet’s climates vary throughout five additional seasons. Winter, Spring, Summer, Rain Season and Fall. Temperatures range from -24 degrees Celsius to a 65 degrees Celsius.

The Atmosphere of the planet has a high oxygen content with little other gasses. Though the Oxygen level is still below the toxic threshold, it’s advised to bring breathing masks when visiting the planet.

Surface

World Map of Shi (click to enlarge)

The Planet's surface is covered mostly with water, and has two large landmasses. The Smaller landmass, Ishrai, was a barren and mountainous waves cover the land. While the larger continent, Ceria Isliana, was rich with plant life and had large grass plains. Between the two large landmasses are endless oceans, rich with life. The planet's hot and oxygen-rich climate caused the melting of the polar caps centuries before any sentient being walked upon Shi, this made only the two larger landmasses rise from the oceans.

The Ocean east of Ishrai and west of Ceria Isliana is called 'Ecienamar' or ' Endless Water' and the ocean west of Ishrai and east of Ceria Isliana is called 'Erum Duriël' or 'Heavens Tears' as the sea is wild and hard to sail through.

During the attack by the raider fleet last visiting Shi, they bombarded most of the planet from space, decimating the planet, causing the smaller continent to be filled with volcanoes, eradicating all signs of life. While the green plains of Ceria Isliana were scorched it's rick forests burned.

Ishrai

Ishrai, meaning 'Land of Fire' in Valheru tongue, is the smaller one of the two continents, it's surface is rugged and barren, covered with mountains and craters. There was one large canyon running from the south of the continent all the way up to the north. Within it the Valkyri lived for millennia. With their birdlike behaviour and hive like hierarchy, they formed a huge group that worked together in order to guarantee their survival.

There were no true cities found of the Valkyri, only a large labyrinth of tunnels and caves within the canyon, which was considered their capital. Through this canyon runs a large river, eventually flowing into a large lake in the south of the continent. The native species dug trenches to guide the stream of water through the caverns in the canyon, creating a waterway through their tunnels so fresh water could be supplied where needed.

This very day, the continent is scorched and filled with volcanos throwing poisonous gasses over the lands and acids into the water, and decimated any possibilities of life.

Ceria Isliana

The larger continent of the two is called Ceria Isliana, 'Green Ocean' in native Valheru tongue. This larger continent is home to the Valheru, who built several large cities scattered on the lands. The north of the lands are rugged, large mountains separate the cold north with the warmed middle part of the continent. The North is called 'Sharan Heren Imhar' or 'Lord Valheru's Embrace' in native tongue. The name is in reference to the mountains to the south and the sea to the north, creating a natural bottleneck. The middle is called 'Cerianes Ish' or 'Emerald Flame' in native and is covered with a huge grass plain with hills and small forests across it. To the west is a large canyon called 'Eranor Remiël' or 'Deadeye Cliff' in native, often used by the dragonriders for training as the massive towers of solid rock who cover the bottom of the canyon are often dangerous.

In the east are small forests and mountainsides that work as a barrier between land and sea. South of the great grass plain is the 'Buriën Eruwa' or 'Forest of Eruwa' as they called it. It is a very dense forest that covers a large portion of land. The Forest stands as a massive border between the Valheru and the Valkyri. Though sometimes conflicts arise when the border is crossed, it keeps both races at bay. At the southernmost tip is the Valkyri stronghold of Calagnasan and houses a large Valkyri made canyon that houses them.

Great Valheru Cities

Erundwyr

Erundwyr is a citadel city of the Valheru and located at the southern area of Ceria Isliana. This great city serves as a border watch, overlooking the great Forest of Buriën Eruwa, a gigantic rainforest that serves as a natural barrier between the Valkyri living on the continent and the Valheru. Sometimes raiding parties trying to plunder for resources manage to travel through the woods and into Valheru land, but they are quickly picked up by patrols from Erundwyr or reported by the neighboring towns of Grewen and Gradur. When the band threatened a nearby town the Silivren Amlug, an elite group of Dragonriders, would intercept them and deal with them easily.

A special feature of the city is the two large mountains at its back. These rock formations were hollowed out and used as a 'stable' for Dragons and Dragonmounts. The top of these mountains were open so the Dragonriders could simply mount their dragons and fly through the roof outside and have an instant strategic vision over the lands.

The City was mostly divided into four separate parts. The part to the west was considered the poor quarters, where people with not a lot of money could live and help their community. Although the poor cannot survive on their own, they do whatever thay can to serve their Lord Valheru and in return he blesses them with a roof and decent food. To the east is the market area, each day the markets would be filled with wagons and stands selling various wares. If one was looking for something special, he would find it there.

To the north of the city is the citadel, a large castle that had a tall tower to look at the forest for Valkyri activity with behind them the two Dragon Mountains that supported the Silivren Amlug. The Citadel was mostly used as a castle for the Lord Valheru, but if needed the castle could be used as an imprenetrable fortress, as the wall around the citadel itself, inside the city walls, added another defensive line that could be used to stall the enemy for as long as possible. At the west side between the citadel wall and the citadel itself were the barracks and training grounds, where new soldiers were trained in the arts of combat. In the south of the city were the living quarters, where most Valheru lived in small houses. These houses had all their roofs flattened with bowmen positions, so it could be used by bowmen should the city ever be overrun.

The city faced its destruction long before the Old Republic raider fleet destroyed the surface of the planet. The Valkyri army marched to the city walls and sieged the city. The siege lasted for two weeks before the Valkyri masses were too great to handle, as the Valheru were outnumbered five to one. The people from the south retreated to Erasiël in the north, the towering capital city, and the prime jewel of Valheru civilization.

Erasiël

Erasiël is the capital city of the Valheru and it's size is counted in miles width. This great city was built by the first Valheru in the lands and has four Dragon Mountains where Erundwyr only had two. It houses the entire Valheru army, which were counted into the hundred thousand including thousands of dragons.

The City itself is located in the north of Ceria Isliana and resides at the western part of the Sharan Heren Imhar which is basically the back of the natural bottleneck. The location makes it easier to counter the huge armies of the Valkyri. The defensive structure of the city was the greatest feature of the city itself, like Erundwyr there were two separate walls, one around the main castle and one around the city itself. However, the wall around the city was double-layered, and when breached the Valheru could use slids in the walls to shoot arrows at the incoming host, decimating its numbers greatly.

The city itself is built in rings, so if you would look upon the city from the sky, you could see seven rings of houses between the city wall and palace wall with only five streets dividing them, causing five additional bottlenecks for any incoming host.

The Palace was the home of the Sharan Heren, or Lord Valheru in the native tongue, and was the main base of military operations. Every strategic plan was thought out within the great throne room, wherein the middle of the Throne room was a large table with a map of Ceria Isliana on it, and small pieces of wood to show the enemy's position and their own number in forces. The map was updated daily with the use of Dragonriders who'd scout and noted what they saw and reported it back. Ths way the Sharan Heren and Shara Aran, the highest-ranked military officer, would know exactly how to counterattack or how to strike.

The city also faced it's destruction, not by the Valkyri but by the Old Republic Raider Fleet. The city was heavily bombarded from orbit and only a few ruins remain standing to this day.

Discovery and Destruction

The planet eventually was settled by the recently formed Old Republic, who wanted to harvest resources from the rich and unspoiled planet. When the Valheru refused to cooperate and hand over their lands the Republic didn’t listen. The Valheru retaliated and used aggression to send the Republic forces back into space.

The revenge of the raider fleet that followed was swift and brutal. The Valheru were considered savage wild men and needed to be either captured or killed. As the Valheru had no real technology thus they were easily defeated by the Republic, and the race soon twirled into extinction as the planet they inhabited was made scorched and barren.

At the present, the planet is scarred with craters and wastelands due to a war in the early days of the Old Republic Raider Fleet. Though parts of the planet started to bloom again, others are still a wasteland filled with ruins of two mighty civilizations. It was believed that the planet held up to eight million inhabitants over a span of two continents. There are also reports of Archaeologists finding fossils of large reptilians, like Kryat Dragons. Also two Humanoid species, the Valheru together with relics and castles. While the Valkyri was found within caverns and were more structured to be like birds in some way. Hollow bones and thin bone structures to lessen weight.

They say some of the Valheru survived the onslaught of the Raider Fleet and lived in various regions of the Galaxy during the days of the old republic. It is believed that their bloodline has ran so thin during the ages, that there are no true Valheru present anymore.
