The Orian Authority is the primary law enforcement agency of the Orian Assembly. The Authority is committed to protecting and improving the quality of life for all by providing a broad range of public safety services. In striving to accomplish this mission the Authority has five primary functions:

  • Provide law and order
  • Counter-Terrorism/Intelligence
  • Criminal and Internal Investigation
  • Spread of Information/News
  • Publicize/Promote the Assembly

The Authority is split into three specific agencies: Peacekeeping, Intelligence, and Propaganda. Each agency plays its part to fulfill the primary functions of the Authority and bring peace, justice and security to the Orian System and the Assembly.

Orian Police Force

"Firm, Fair, Consistent"
―OPF Motto

The Orian Police Force (OPF) is the primary security agency of the Authority charged with enforcing the law, maintaing order and promoting peace within the Orian System. Its duties included routine patrols of major cities, periodic patrols of rural areas, psychical security details, criminal investigations, diplomatic protection, maintaining skylines, and, in some cases, counter-terrorism operations partnered with the Intelligence Service. The OPF is a paramilitary police unit and technically a division of the Warhost responsible for law enforcement in both the armed forces and the civilian population. Cadets attend the same training academy as members of the Warhost with an additional eight weeks for specialized peacekeeping training. The Orian Police Headquarters is located in the heavily militarized zone of Kar Alabrek, Tarthos.

The OPF is overseen by the Provost Marshal and commanded by the Superintendent of Police Forces. The title of Provost Marshal give its holder de jure executive authority over the Orian Police Force. The Superintendent is the de facto leader, running the day-to-day operations and making executive decisions on the Provost Marshal’s behalf.

The current Provost Marshal is Locke Sonjie. (HMR QUA will hold this position, ceremonial only)

The current Superintendent of Police Forces is Victor Basik. (NCP, profile to come)

Organization of the OPF

The Orian Police Force is structured into various Police Barracks and specialized units. It also maintains a chain of command with ranks and equivalent positions. There is one barracks on each populated planet throughout the Orian System with a sub-station on Onyx II, Sepros, and other remote military installations or civilian colonies. Sub-stations are loosely staff and managed but nearby planetary barracks an only have periodic patrols. Sepros is the only exception having a small security detail that is stationed there around the clock. Below is the breakdown of the overall organization of the OPF.
