"I’m daddy’s little girl. My job? Killing the daddies of our future enemies."
―Melissa to Raymin Cole

Melissa Baracetti is a military brat who's family came to the Dajorra System when the Brotherhood split from the Emperor's Hammer. At the age of 16, Melissa was sent to the Officer's Academy on Selen. Upon graduating the academy, she served as the assistant to the 6th Light Infantry Brigade Commander. Three years later she was promoted to Brigade Commander. During the Yuuzhan Vong invasion, she was promoted to VI Division Commander. She was left behind when the fleet retreated, and became a leader of the resistance movement.

Character History

Early Life

Melissa Baracetti was born on a ship of the Emperor’s Hammer, both of her parents officers in the military. When the Brotherhood split from the Strike Force, Melissa’s parents followed the Arconan Fleet back to the Dajorra System. Melissa had the genes of a military commander in her, and her parents groomed her to grow up and become an officer in the Defense Fleet.

When she turned 16 in 22 ABY, she was sent to the officer’s academy on Selen. She attended for three years, graduating like most other officers at the age of nineteen. Melissa was sent home, where her mother had recently retired from the military due to head trauma, and was living off her pension. Melissa’s father was serving as commanding officer of the INT Creeping Darkness.

6th Light Infantry Brigade

Melissa joined the 6th Light Infantry Brigade, serving as Assistant to the Brigade Commander. It became apparent that her father had pulled some strings to get her such a distinguished position at such a young age, but Melissa proved capable of the new duties heaped on her.

Three years of constant service as an assistant earned the young officer a promotion to Brigade Commander of the 6th, where she immediately began to revolutionize the tactics the brigade employed. Her superiors took notice, and she was considered to take over for the Division Commander when he retired.

Division Commander

When the Yuuzhan Vong invaded Dajorra, the 6th Brigade led the defensive charge for Division VI. Melissa Baracetti led her team well, and when the Division Commander hurriedly resigned, the Clan Summit decided that Melissa was ready for the opportunity. She took over command in the middle of the Eighth Great Jedi War, trying to defend her planet against the cruel invaders.

However, the conquerors were overwhelming. When Arcona was forced to abandon the Dajorra System, there was not enough room on the fleet to evacuate all the men and women of the Division. Melissa was left behind, and she became one of the co-leaders of the resistance movement.

For the next two years, they would carry out raids and attacks on the Yuuzhan Vong, slowing their Vongforming efforts and other surface scarring on Eldar. Melissa matured as a leader, and became one of the symbols of hope for the Eldarian resistance movement.

Personality

Melissa Baracetti was a compassionate and fiery young woman, known to flirt with many older officers, but never settled down. She was good with the troops, and knew what she was doing in battle. Even so, she had her shortcomings, but with age and maturity her superiors expected those shortcomings to lessen if not disappear altogether.
