Through all the intelligence, Shimura saw her to be a tough, iron fisted ruler that made examples instead of excuses. For this reason, the Quaestor offered her the job along with a handsome salary that one in her position could hardly refuse.

The **Helot Maximum Security Prison Complex** is a penitentiary in Aliso system that was constructed for Clan Plagueis in 38 ABY. Constructed at the orders of the Plagueis ruling council, Helot also serves a more nefarious purpose besides the scenes, though it is commonly viewed as a prison facility.

The Facility

Construction

Upon being appointed Quaestor of House Tyranus, Shimura Keibatsu sought to bring develop another way to acquire "assets" for Plagueis, admiring the ruling council's work in "legitimizing" their slave trade in the Unknown Regions. The Keibatsu's proposal was accepted unanimously, and he was appointed to oversee the construction of the facility and ensure its completion. Construction of the complex occurred rapidly on a very short timetable, the entire structure being approved for full function within a handful of months. While this ensured an efficient and expedited process of transferring violent inmaes into the complex, it came at the severe detriment of slaves' health, especially those who were forced to contribute their unpaid labor to the construction process.

Reception

Prisoners that find themselves being admitted to Helot are first received at reception. Prison staff perform physical and mental health screenings on all new inmates as well as giving them an aggression screening. All inmates are categorized by their mental health assessment, ten being the most difficult to treat while one is being the least difficult. They are also categorized by their aggression score, A being the most aggressive while E is the most docile. Unbeknownst to the majority of the prison staff, these ratings would indicate where prisoners would be sent. A10's will eventually see themselves moved to The Depths of Helot to undergo conditioning and later to Aliso for Asset Training. E1's, for their clear mind and docile nature, will be transported off the facility to be sold by the Saraask'ar. Those that score in the middle of the pack, will be left at Helot to continue the facade of the prison facility.

Cell Block A

Helot's Cell Block A is the primary housing for inmates that require a more permanent stay. Cells consist of only the bare essentials for existence, two bunks, a toilet and a sink. The block itself is three stories tall with cat walks adjoining either side of the cell block. Staircases are located at regular intervals to allow guards and prisoners alike easier access among the block. When prisoners are not in the cafeteria for their three meals a day or their one hour of "yard" time, they can be found locked behind the durasteel bars of their cell.

The Yard

As most prison complex's have some sort of recreational yard for the inmates to stretch, get some exercise and fresh air, Helot has a recreation yard that is more akin to a gymnasium nicknamed by the residents as "The Yard". Tables are scattered about the gym, dejarik pieces on some of them while a gravball court took up the north section of The Yard. When not revoked for bad behavior, weight lifting equipment can be accessed in the south east side of the gym.

Guard House and Armory

The Guard House is quite similar in furnishings to the cells in Cell Block A but have a few distinct differences. The mattresses and pillow are much more plush than those belonging to the inmates as well as having luxury furnishings such as various computer terminals, the holonet, caf maker and kitchenette. Inside the Guard House, the Armory can be found near the back. The Armory houses weapons of varying lethality from riot gear, cryoban and glop grenades up to military grade blasters and gear for the improbable inmate revolt.

The Depths

Another nickname, this one created by the guard staff and exacerbated by the prison population's rumor mill. "The Depths" are only accessible via turbolift in an isolated section of the prison and with proper security clearance. This is where the Clan conditions all of their outgoing assets before they assume combat training on Aliso. The Depths consist of two levels, the personnel level being superior to the hangar bay.

The personnel level contains a conditioning room that doubles as an infirmary for conditioning that may have been taken farther than the subject's constitution could take. For those more difficult to break, a smaller cell block can be found on this level to house those that require extra attention without having to reintroduce them to general population. Various lightly furnished apartment like rooms can also be found on this level for the full time conditioning team that rotate into service.

The bottom level of Helot is a hangar capable of fitting two shuttles or one freighter inside the bay for discreet entrance and exits made by the conditioning staff as well as the Saraask'ar. This hangar bay remains hidden from exterior view with rock camouflaged bay doors and a ray shield to seal it from the vacuum of space. The only way in is by opening the doors from the interior and disabling the ray shield, requiring ships requesting access to have the encrypted comm channel for the hangar bay.

Operations

For all intents and purposes, to outside eyes Helot Prison Complex looks like another maximum security prison. There are very few people that know the true nature of the facility, this being limited to Clan Summit, the Warden, Finance Director and the Saraask'ar. Because of it's location, the prison enjoys being regulation free and able to keep the lid on their secret affairs since they don't have to have every aspect of the facility inspected. If Helot were to be investigated inspectors would find redundant power systems, visual and audio recording devices across the entire facility. To add to this, both the hangar bay attached to reception and the bay in The Depths boast a dozen blaster turrets making escape impossible, adding to the validity of the facility as a prison.

Warden Annaliv Welhul

Not only did Shimura have to oversee the construction of the prison, but he also had to make sure that the building and its performance were taken care of as well. He had heard of a Human Woman named Annaliv Welhul who was facing charges in the New Republic for human rights violations during her time as Warden within the Core. Plagueis military were able to destroy her corrections escort, disable the transport and rescue her from the jaws of the very penal system she once oversaw. Through all the intelligence, Shimura saw her to be a tough, iron fisted ruler that made examples instead of excuses. For this reason, the Quaestor offered her the job along with a handsome salary that one in her position could hardly refuse.

Financial Director

Djeri Moraal, in his new corporate role, oversees the finances of the prison as well as negotiating with outlying systems to set up housing contracts with them. Moraal is most recognized for his resorts on Aliso.
