* Dark Brotherhood Canon, which looks to align with Star Wars Canon where possible, is maintained by the Brotherhood Story Group. The story group's objective is to maintain consistency with Brotherhood Lore in respect to narrative plot updates, system features like possessions and character sheets, as well as integration with new material introduced into "nu Canon". The Story Group is headed currently by the Grand Master and Deputy Grand Master.

* The Brotherhood’s home rests in the Arx System. (Antei was destroyed and the Dark Council relocated).

Current Storyline
The current storyline follows the emergence of a new enemy group known as The Children of Mortis. This mysterious new enemy unleashed devastation upon the Clans of the Brotherhood in the Fifteenth Great Jedi War.

Shadows Unveiled
At the order of the Grand Master, the Brotherhood undertook a massive research effort, both to understand the appearance of the Children of Mortis, and the power they wielded with their Force-embued crystals. Each of the great Clans chose their own paths to study as information about the Children was slowly learned. Comprised of three groups representing the Light, Grey, and Dark sides of the Force, this group used crystals formed from the souls of Force-sensitives to create powerful weapons, armor, ships, and organic monstrosities. All of this was done at the command of their leader, The Father, who hoped to usher in a new age of unbound Force control.

Great Jedi War: Ascension
Chapter 1
The Council believes the Children are planning to attack Arx, their seat of power. Still rebuilding from the attack by The Collective, the system was ripe for a powerful enemy to push out the Brotherhood. Yet they were mistaken.

Launching massive crystal asteroids, the Children of Mortis unleashed hell upon the seven Clans' home systems. Each asteroid slowing at impact to create a large impact site, The Children set off to gather what research had been found on their crystals, as well as any stored crystals the clans might possess. While this assault is launched, The Father took control of The Harbinger as is his will to take a more direct hand in overseeing the attack. Avitus Oligard, praised for his insight on each of the Clans, goes to aid Saira O'Setera as she begins the birthing process.

Chapter 2
The Council frantically tries to comprise the data on the crystals, hoping to find a way to stop their power. Each of the Clans show different strengths and weaknesses against the Children as they defend their homes. With the asteroids safely planet side, the Children began the next phase of their conquest, activating the asteroids as "World Seeds". These seeds begin to drain the life from the planets they reside upon, causing even more crystals to grow.

Chapter 3
A method of purifying the crystals is found, and released into the Clans' systems. Each of the Clans show great strength and power as they push back the Children from their homes. In shock, the Children retreat, seemingly vanishing into an ethereal realm. Saira gives birth to a baby boy, who begins to age toward adulthood rapidly.

Synopsis
The now-purified crystals are harvested and used by the Clans to create unique and powerful tools, defenses, and weapons. The Grand Master begins his own study of the portals the Children summoned, hoping they might find a way to destroy their enemy, and find the illusive former Grand Master, Telaris Cantor.

* The Brotherhood mobilizes against a new foe known as the “One Sith.” This would become known as the Dark Crusades and Fading Light.
* Dark Crusade planets: Krayiss II, Nfolgai, Bhargebba, Ch’Hodos, Ashas Ree, Athiss, Svolten, Jaguada, Kalsunor, Korriz, Dromund Kaas, Ziost.
* Fading Light Planets: Bosthirda, Begeren, and Nicht Ka.
The Clans and Houses of the Brotherhood utilized all the forces at their command to decimate the One Sith forces and compete against their rivals within the Brotherhood itself. After capturing a planet and repelling the One Sith, the Dark Council was supposed to award stewardship of the planets to the unit they believed contributed most to the victory.
* Darth Esoteric is the leader of the One Sith and the primary antagonist for the Dark Crusade.
* Muz Ashen tries to gather artifacts from each conquered planet in an attempt to execute a sacred ritual (the Rite of Obscuration) that will grant him immortality.
* The Brotherhood fractures into three parts: those loyal to protecting Muz while he completes the Rite, those loyal to Jac Cotelin in stopping Muz, and Darth Esoteric’s anarchist approach to take control away from the Grand Masters.
* The Rite is prevented, but Antei is destroyed in the process.
* Muz and Jac make a tentative peace. Muz steps down as Grand Master.
* DGM Pravus assumes the Throne.
* Esoteric is revealed to be Lord Marshal Damon Nix—Pravus’ right hand and a plant within the One Sith organization that allowed the Brotherhood to win skirmish after skirmish with relatively little loss.
* Grand Master Darth Pravus begins to lay the groundwork for his New Order.

Current Storyline: Fictional Recap
A toddler child is brought before the Father, revealed at last to be a Skeleton of pure crystal. Once known as Matthias Westland, thousands of years ago, The Father appraises the toddler as an appropriate vessel.

Still residing within the Cor’neria System, Rath Oligard watches streams of data regarding the Children's attack against the Brotherhood, appraising how best to use this opportunity to destroy his most hated enemy.

First came the purging of the Obelisk and Krath orders. Voice Evant Taelyan formed the Inquisitorius, a network of loyal agents that would serve the Brotherhood and aide the Grand Master in flushing out and eliminating threats to the throne.  The Inquisitorius then had their sights set on the task of ridding the Brotherhood of alien species of "lesser" standing. These groups, when combined with the old orders, would later come to be known as "Undesirables."
Crack grew in the factions of the Severian Principate, and Tenixir Revenants. Influenced by the mystical crystals that had been recovered over the previous few years, both factions split in half, each with one favoring peace, the other all out war. War comes to them all on the planet of Dandoran.

The campaign against the Undesirables set each of the Clans on edge. One by one, their fleets and systems came under scrutiny from the Inquisition. Each unit reacted in their own ways, but everything lead to the Grand Master’s Invitational Tournament. The tournament pit two champions from each unit against one another in a bracket to reach the top. In the end, the duel between Timeros Entar Arconae and Turel Sorenn gave way to the Brotherhood’s first Jedi champion.
At the invitation of Py'zah the Hutt, The Principate and Revenants arrive to bid on a large cache of crystals, when shots are finally fired. The Brotherhood answers both sides call with each member choosing for themselves who they would like to support. Within The Principate, there were the brutal Restorers and the peace-seeking Harmonists. For the Revenants, there was the vengeance-seeking Retributionists and the opportunistic Expansionists.

The Jedi of Odan-Urr savored their victory, but the taste would not last for long. The Tournament had been a smokescreen to lull the Odanites into a false sense of security within the Dark Brotherhood. Then, without word or warning, Pravus launched a full scale invasion and assault on New Tython. The Odanites were forced to retreat and went into exile before eventually settling in the Kiast System, unknown to the Brotherhood.
Things became more complicated when the Restorers revealed they had melded the crystals with soldiers, creating fearsome Restoration Troopers, large lumbering beasts that were near impossible to kill. At the same time, The Seer, representing a new entity known as The Children of Mortis, brought with her Crystal Ascendants, beings also augmented with crystal but in such a way their connection to the force was magnified greatly.

Pravus followed the sacking of New Tython by announcing his desire to lead the Brotherhood into a “New Order.” This would motivate the Clans to begin to choose a side in a growing conflict between a rising resistance and Pravus’ New Order. Remnants of the old orders would join this growing resistance, which eventually lead to friction and fissures in the frail bonds that held the Brotherhood together.
Eventually, The Harmonists won the day. The Seer retreated with Avitus Oligard in tow. The Principate agreed to begin demilitarizing their armies, and the Revenants agreed to strike out to far away systems to prevent further bloodshed.

Karufr—long time home to Clan Taldryan—was next to be sacked by the Justicar of the Brotherhood. This forced the Taldryanites to seek solace and shelter in depths of unknown space. Clan Arcona and Clan Tarentum worked through the aftermath of Wuntila Arconae’s betrayal and the subsequent end to the Krath Rebellion with his murder of Telona Murrage. The two old allies aligned with Clan Plagueis in an attempt to eliminate Darth Pravus, but were unsuccessful. Plagueis returned to their home system to recover their footing and rebuild their forces.

The resistance continued to grow with Arcona and Tarentum joining the fold to oppose the will of the Grand Master and his “New Order”. The Lotus —as the rebels now call themselves—managed to strike a major setback to the Iron Navy’s starship production by attacking a key manufacturing yard. The Grand Master was not pleased with this setback, but it did give him a target to set his sights on.

Even with the unexpected delays, reconciliation from Pravus came swiftly and without mercy. With a series of bold, calculated strokes, the remaining fleets of the Brotherhood were brought to bear against the might of the Iron Navy. Arcona, Tarentum, and Naga Sadow lost their flagships and accompanying navies, forcing them to retreat. Scholae Palatinae, despite their ties to the Imperial legacy, were hit the hardest as both their fleet and homeworld were set aflame.

The seven Clans have been forced to reevaluate their armed forces and ambitions. Meanwhile, the Dark Council stands on the precipice of revealing their new base of operations. Gone are the tethers to the mystic ways of old. Pravus’ vision has replaced them with cold, Imperial-inspired efficiency. There appears to be a method behind the madness that the Grand Master has pursued in his pursuit of forming this New Order.

Escalation: Chapter 3

Crack grew in the factions of the Severian Principate, and Tenixir Revenants. Influenced by the mystical crystals that had been recovered over the previous few years, both factions split in half, each with one favoring peace, the other all out war. War comes to them all on the planet of Dandoran.

Eventually, The Harmonists won the day. The Seer retreated with Avitus Oligard in tow. The Principate agreed to begin demilitarizing their armies, and the Revenants agreed to strike out to far away systems to prevent further bloodshed.

Originally a network of mining worlds and orbital facilities in the Kastolar Sector, it existed to fuel the Empire’s war machine. This changed with the governorship of Lucian Niatinus, a commander disillusioned with the Emperor’s self-destructive policies. Devoted to improving the lives of his citizens and secretly allying with the smugglers and pirates from the nearby Hutt Space, he sought to create an ordered state free of the tyranny which inspired the Rebellion.
The Tenixir Revenants The Tenixir Revenants is a conglomerate of criminal organizations. Comprised largely of former prisoners held by the Severian Prinicpate on the planet of Tenixir they have a deep hatred of the Imperial group. They are distrustful of all, but willing to work for the credits. Their allegiance is only to themselves.
The Council The Council serves the Grand Master of the Brotherhood, and governs the various elements of the Brotherhood.
The Seven Clans The seven Clans of the Brotherhood all hold different motivations and personalities.

Arcona, Naga Sadow, Odan-Urr, Plagueis, Scholae Palatinae, Taldryan, Clan Vizsla.

A member of each respective unit is referred to in the following manner:

 • Arconan
 • Taldryanite
 • Sadowan
 • Palatinaean

Iron Forces The Iron Forces are divided into two divisions: The Iron Navy, and the Iron Legion.
Arx Capital Exchange The Arx Capital Exchange, or ACE, is the financial and industrial apparatus of the Arx System and the Council as a whole.
Inquisitorius The Inquisitorius are the Grand Master’s covert network of agents. They represent the Brotherhood's strength outside of the Iron Legion and Iron Fleet. While not all that are enrolled are aligned with the Grand Master’s visions, many compete for favor and to rise in the rankings. The Society offers various awards and incentives and is headed by the Voice of the Brotherhood.
Shroud Syndicate The Shroud Syndicate is the premiere criminal organization operating in Brotherhood space. It involves many smaller gangs, crews, and criminal combines within its area of operation, it is lead by the Herald, and operates from the Shroud Nebula where their massive ship, the Godless Matron, makes berth. The organization is involved in almost every major black market deal that happens in Brotherhood space.
LOCATIONS
Arx System The Arx System is located in the depths of Wild Space, far away from the core worlds and isolated from the galaxy at large. The planet Arx — or more commonly simply called "Arx" — now serves as the current seat of power for the Brotherhood.
Outer Rim Territories The Outer Rim Territories, also known as the Outer Rim or Outer Systems, was a sparsely populated region of the galaxy located outside the Mid Rim before Wild Space and the Unknown Regions. The largest region in the galaxy, it was home to diverse worlds and rugged, primitive frontier planets. It is here that the bulk of the Brotherhood’s storyline evolves.
