Character Pages

After discussion with the Grand Master, the Deputy Grand Master, the Wiki Tribune and his staff it has been clearly decided that the character articles are not a replacement for member's dossier files on DJB.com. Rather, it is a replacement for your Character History on your dossier.

Therefore, it is not necessary for images of your Warbanner or your Lightsaber on the Character article since it is already available on your dossier. Now, you might notice that some do have these things on their articles already.

Images

Here are some rules regarding having these images on your article:

  • A rule instituted by the DJBWiki Staff in January 2007: Unless you have a paragraph discussing the image and tying it into the article - it will be deleted by the Wiki staff.
  • Images must be shrunk down to a manageable size. For example view the DJBWiki Tribune's article: Kaine Mandaala. Notice he has put in his warbanner with the following code: [[image:0005-banner.jpg|thumb|100px|left|Kaine Mandaala's Warbanner]]. 100px being the suitable size for warbanners.
  • Lightsabers should likewise be shrunk to a size that is conforming to the article.

Content

  • A brief summary at the beginning of the article is required. This summary should not be more than a medium sized paragraph. The bulk of the article should be under subsequent headings that follow the summary.
  • Unnecessary information that can be found on your dossier file such as medals, dates of promotions, and other data tracked by the main DJB database should not be repeated on the character articles. This does not include Positions Held, since that has an acceptable place under DJB Facts.
  • Avoid obscene or ridiculously unneeded information in the trivia (So-and-so hates so-and-so for no reason). Try to make trivia something interesting about the Character, not the creator.
  • Last but not least, rather most importantly, cut down on the number of edits by using the Show preview button and making as many edits as possible in one rather than a series.
