== Birth of a Sith ==
Born in the year 10 After the Battle of Yavin, Taigikori Aybara bore the affinity for the force at such an early age. Since his birth was brought during the rising of the New Empire, Coruscant was not a safe haven for his father, nor mother with their new born son.

== Entry to Clan Taldryan ==
In the year 22ABY, the whispers of recruiting had reached Taigikori's ears. Those force adepts who could touch the force were being rounded up and asked to join the service of the Brotherhood. The Grand Master at this time was Grand Master Jac. Taig had heard of the man's exploits, not knowing the difference between previous Sith lords of legend, and him. Through out the first few months, Taig ignored the calls. He worked alongside his father as master apprentice to his pod-racing engineering firm. It was headquartered a few kilo's from the old Jedi Temple itself.

During certain times of the day, the young man would let his eyes drift to the ancient structure.

In the year 27 ABY, Taigikori asked the hand of [[Jendan Morgana]]. She agreed immediately, and together they began building a future for themselves, and unbeknown to them; a son. Though torn between two different Clans, the two made time for themselves in a flat on the planet Coruscant, Taig's home planet. Time went by, and in 31 ABY they discovered that they were pregnant with a son, who would be named after his father. Joyed with the news, Taigikori secretly made plans to secure himself a role on the Dark Council, having already worked his way into three [[Dark Summit]] positions. His wish was to build a solid foundation and future for his son, while still striving in his ever persistent goal of self perfection; the true Sith within him.

=== Unveiling the truth ===
The [[Ninth Great Jedi War]] still fell across the Dupars as it did every family. Having lost contact with each other, Patriarch [[Aabsdu]] led what was left of the family as commander of the Arcanum, using his access into Shadow Academy records to search for lost members of the Dupar line. Elsewhere in Clan Arcona, Taigikori Aybara had fought the Jedi Crask and joined forces with Aabsdu as head of the [[Shadow Academy]], unaware of his own severed connection to the Dupar line through his adopted father, an old and distant descendant of Graal Dupar. Though his blood was Aybara, his adopted father had evaded the remnants of the Empire and any connection to the Force after the destruction of the second Death Star. Aabsdu discovered this lost line between he and his Praetor, and officially adopted Taigikori into the [[Dupar]] family, linking Master and Apprentice, but leaving a great many questions unanswered.

As Quaestor of Qel-Droma of Clan Arcona, Taigikori was a main political figure behind the rise and overall win to Clan Arcona. He personally led the house for half of the war before stepping down from Quaestor to focus on his Praetorian duties, and his overall attention to the Antei front.

At the beginning of the war, the Clan summit coordinated their attacks from the Eye of the Abyss II. Once the first shots were fired, and the Brotherhood engaged in a dual of the fates with Crask and his Jedi, Arcona was on their on. Consul [[Sashar]] was absent for most of the first week, leaving the weight of Arcona's War duties to fall on Pro-Consul [[Vorion]]. Despite this set back, the lower Equites of Arcona proved their worth and continued on to a glorious victory.

The idea of an academy to gather and train Force-sensitive individuals is certainly not a new one, but rather a practice that has been adopted by both light and dark side followers. No matter these, however, the name "Shadow Academy" is hardly an original one in the universe.

The Shadow Academy of the [[Dark Jedi Brotherhood]] was founded in [[11 ABY to 19 ABY|11 ABY]] by [[Grand Master]] [[Jedgar Octavius Paladin]], apprentice to [[Kane Vader]]. Paladin understood the threat of the growing Jedi Order, and as Grand Master aggressively added to the rolls of the Brotherhood, using the Shadow Academy as a way to separate the weak from the strong, and train them through the initial steps under the watchful eye of the first [[Headmaster]], Stefan Ronin.

Based on the planet [[Eos]] in the Aurora System, the Shadow Academy continued to grow and turn out new members to the Dark Brotherhood and Emperor's Hammer under the reign of the Headmaster. During these years, students remained at the Academy until they reached the rank of [[Guardian]], at which point they would be assigned to a [[clan]]. The Brotherhood was also strictly divided among the three Orders at this time, and so the Academy offered unique courses for each Order, with the Test of Lore being the only shared course among the programs.

As the Pre-Exodus years continued, the Shadow Academy saw itself grow exponentially due to the demands of increased membership and the loosening of order restrictions under the reign of J'lek Arcanon. New courses were created under the reign of [[Mejas Doto]], [[Troutrooper]], and Mage, and during the tenure of [[Pyralis]] course graders called [[Eclectic Pedagogue]]s were formed, and the [[Society of Envoys]] was placed under the command of the Shadow Academy.

In [[11 ABY to 19 ABY|19 ABY]], the [[Seven]], including the then Headmaster Pyralis, announced their intentions to break ties with the Emperor’s Hammer, and the Shadow Academy was caught in the middle. While there are no known reports of fighting within the halls of the Academy, it is known that the Seven took a large amount of texts and artifacts with them when they ran the blockade in the ''[[Sirona|Palatir]]'', later placed under the command of the Headmaster.

The Brotherhood made it way to [[Antei]], and the Shadow Academy was relocated to the moon of [[Lyspair]]. Starting off as a small, prefabricated shelter, it was quickly expanded both in size and worth under the reign of Headmaster Kaiann.

=== Battleground, Fortification, and Exile ===

During the [[Sixth Great Jedi War]], the halls of the Shadow Academy were turned into a battleground between those members infected by Okemi and those not. The structure was heavily damaged, with certain sections being destroyed completely. Under Headmaster [[Spears]] reconstruction began almost immediately, but had not been completed by the time of the [[Seventh Great Jedi War]]. [[Anshar Kahn Tarentae|Anshar]], who had been Headmaster for mere months, suddenly found himself fighting his brothers and sisters against the clone [[Jaac Cotelin]]. Though no fighting occurred on Lyspair, the scale of the war convinced Anshar to revamp the Academy's defenses, including the acquisition of a fleet, at the head of which was the ''[[Mnemosyne]]''.

For a time it seemed as if the Academy was safe, but shortly after the [[Second Darkness|Rite of Supremacy]], the Brotherhood found itself [[Vong Incursion|under attack]] by the Yuuzhan Vong. The ''Mnemosyne'' was destroyed during the initial attack, seemingly killing Anshar. Days later, however, Anshar reappeared to assist his Praetor, [[Dranik]], with the [[evacuation of Lyspair]]. As the clans battled above Antei, the Headmaster considered destroying the Shadow Academy, but instead left it intact as they fled the system indefinitely, taking only the most important texts and artifacts.

Like the rest of the Dark Brotherhood's main forces, the Shadow Academy was in exile after its evacuation of Lyspair. Gifted with the [[Arcanum]] by Grand Master [[Sarin]], Headmaster Anshar quickly established the flagship as a mobile Academy, frequently making short hyperspace jumps to avoid unwanted detection. For nearly two years, the ''Arcanum'' served the members of the Brotherhood in their studies, during which time Anshar returned to his native clan and a new Headmaster, [[Aabsdu]], took over, continuing the expansion of studies set by his predecessors. Despite being homeless, the Academy continued to grow.

During the [[Ninth Great Jedi War]] in [[30 ABY to 39 ABY#30_ABY|30 ABY]], the Vong had begun to die out, and planets within the Antei system had been taken by [[Omancor Crask]] and his legion of Jedi. The ''Arcanum'' fought valiantly against the Jedi fleets, ultimately being destroyed in the process. It was only after the Reclamation of Antei that Aabsdu coordinated a retaking of Lyspair, and he and his fellow staff found the facilities either destroyed or in horrid disrepair. Great measures were taken to restore the facilities and the Dark Vault, and the Academy soon resettled at their former base.

=== Moving Forward ===
A year after resettlement, Aabsdu ordered a reformation of the Academy staff. He replaced the [[Eclectic Pedagogue]] with Professors and Docents, making it more efficient to run and grade classes. After overseeing much labor in the recovery of the Academy, Aabsdu resigned from the position of Headmaster. The vacant position was filled by his Praetor, [[Taigikori Aybara Dupar]], who worked to continue the efforts as started by his predecessor.

While the Academy has been stable since the return to Lyspair, it has not been without its conflicts. Most recently, a Jedi by the name of Liu Van Dae attempted to infiltrate the Dark Vault, only to be stopped by Taigikori and [[Grand Master]] [[Muz Ashen]]. Although Taigikori ended up losing his lower jaw and tongue during the duel against the Jedi, Liu Van Dae was killed while attempting to escape Anteian space. Since then, the Academy has been working diligently on a brand new program of dark studies, in hopes of keeping the numbers of dark side practitioners strong.

After the [[Tenth Great Jedi War]], Taigikori was appointed the new [[Justicar]] of the Brotherhood. His Praetor, [[Ronovi Tavisaen]], was immediately selected to be his successor, becoming the first female Headmaster in the history of the Shadow Academy.

== Membership ==
Upon joining the Brotherhood of the Dark Jedi, [[Initiate]]s are automatically enrolled in the [http://www.darkjedibrotherhood.com/dbjedi/shadowacademy/sa/index.php Shadow Academy]. All new members are assigned to one of the three Order-oriented campuses, the Sith, the Krath, or the Obelisk. Their first task is the studying of the Brotherhood's most basic rules, and the subsequent Test of Lore that follows. Upon completion of the Test of Lore, one gains elevation to [[Apprentice]] and is automatically assigned to a [[Clan]] or [[House]]. After graduation from the Shadow Academy, a larger selection of courses becomes available to the new member, some of which are related to a specific order or skill. These courses are divided into departments and found on the left hand side of the main Shadow Academy page. The Shadow Academy is the largest of all [[Dark Council]] offices in terms of staff size. The [[Headmaster]] (HM) is in charge of the entire Academy, overseeing day to day operations, managing resources, and serving as a resource to Brotherhood members, new and old alike. The Headmaster has final say in all Academy decisions, including the selection or removal of staff members and judicial matters within the Academy halls. Unless representing the Academy in the Dark Council, the Headmaster rarely leaves Lyspair.

The Praetor to the Headmaster (P:HM) is the second in command of the Academy, assisting the Headmaster in his duties and serving as his most important advisor. He or she has sweeping administrative powers, second only to the Headmaster, and is in charge whenever the Headmaster is unavailable. While usually present on Lyspair, some Praetors have also held lower levels positions in their clans or houses.

=== Magistrate ===
The Magistrate to the Headmaster (M:HM) is awarded to those who provide specialized services to the Academy for extended periods of time. Magistrates are usually hired to work on specific projects handed down by the Headmaster or Praetor, and are sometimes released once the project is completed, or given a new assignment. At times, Special Magistrates have been appointed by the Headmaster to help cover the duties of the upper management, but this is rare.

Professors are the test graders for the seven different departments in the Shadow Academy. These professors are equal to the Magistrate on the command structure, since they are responsible for the maintaining of their respective departments, as well as creating new courses and various other projects. The main difference between a Magistrate and a Professor, is the Professors concentrate on their own department while the Magistrate works on the entire Shadow Academy as a whole.

After the Reformation of the Shadow Academy in 31 ABY, Academy courses with similar teachings were grouped into departments headed by a single member, a Professor, who is in charge of keeping all courses within that department graded and up to date in content, while also helping members who request it and working towards furthering the department as a whole. == Departments ==

It sits atop steep cliffs overlooking one of Lyspair's large oceans. Laid out as a square with four towers rising from each corner, the Academy used to consist of only three corners, but was rebuilt after its destruction during the [[Fifth Great Jedi War]]. Between the towers are wide corridors filled with classrooms, training areas, and libraries. There is also a courtyard open to all visiting members. Inside the Shadow Academy, the building is separated into six different departments as well as having an area for general teachings by the Docents.
* The '''Docent Halls''' are where all the courses that are not taught by Professors but individual teachers are held. These courses range vary in spectrum, including clan histories, Wiki and ACC Basics, writing skills courses, and the legendary Chamber of Justice courses. There are currently 14 courses in the Docent Halls.

== Defenses ==
Some might say that the danger to the Shadow Academy comes not from outside forces, but from within. Indeed, the Academy has been destroyed twice, both times during [[Great Jedi War]]s. After the Sixth Great Jedi War, Headmaster Anshar had the Academy's defenses upgraded to prevent the past from repeating itself, finally protecting the facility both from the ground and orbit. All of the Academy's defenses serve dual purposes, however, as they are also training tools for Brotherhood members studying.

=== Ground ===
The entire structure is protected first by a large shield generator. Able to be activated at a moment's notice, the exact number of generators fueling the shield is known only to a few, but the shields can continue to operate at top capacity even when most of the generators have been destroyed. The walls and towers of the Academy are also armed with laser cannons torpedo launchers. There also exists eight anti-aircraft batteries, but they are used as a last defense since operation is manual.

The location of the Academy also provides it with protection. Built on a steep cliff at the edge of one of Lyspair's oceans, scaling the cliff would be nearly impossible, severely cutting the possible directions attacks could come from. A narrow kill field has also been built around the Academy, armed remotely and prepared to fire upon any attackers. Finally, the Academy is stocked with several airspeeders, skyhoppers, and fighter tanks if the outer walls are breached.

== Appeals Panel ==
The Appeals Panel examines all issues brought by appellants. The Panel consists of three active members selected from amongst the Clans. The Justicar holds a brief application and investigation period to obtain members who wish to participate and will be positive additions to the Panel. After the selections are made, the three Panel members will serve for six months, after which time another trio will be selected.

The appeals panel has a very specific jurisdiction - if the defendant or prosecution feels that an error has been made, he can write an appeal and present it to the Justicar, who will in turn bring it before the Appeals Panel. Appeals cannot be trivial in nature, and must specifically point to the error made. The appellant must find either a specific Covenant issue or judicial process error to have standing.

Born in the year 10 After the Battle of Yavin, Taigikori Aybara bore the affinity for the force at such an early age. Since his birth was brought during the rising of the New Empire, Coruscant was not a safe haven for his father, nor mother with their new born son.

== Entry to Clan Taldryan ==
In the year 22ABY, the whispers of recruiting had reached Taigikori's ears. Those force adepts who could touch the force were being rounded up and asked to join the service of the Brotherhood. The Grand Master at this time was Grand Master Jac. Taig had heard of the man's exploits, not knowing the difference between previous Sith lords of legend, and him. Through out the first few months, Taig ignored the calls. He worked alongside his father as master apprentice to his pod-racing engineering firm. It was headquartered a few kilo's from the old Jedi Temple itself.

During certain times of the day, the young man would let his eyes drift to the ancient structure.

== The Dupar Family ==

In the year 27 ABY, Taigikori asked the hand of [[Jendan Morgana]]. She agreed immediately, and together they began building a future for themselves, and unbeknown to them; a son. Though torn between two different Clans, the two made time for themselves in a flat on the planet Coruscant, Taig's home planet. Time went by, and in 31 ABY they discovered that they were pregnant with a son, who would be named after his father. Joyed with the news, Taigikori secretly made plans to secure himself a role on the Dark Council, having already worked his way into three [[Dark Summit]] positions. His wish was to build a solid foundation and future for his son, while still striving in his ever persistent goal of self perfection; the true Sith within him.

The [[Ninth Great Jedi War]] still fell across the Dupars as it did every family. Having lost contact with each other, Patriarch [[Aabsdu]] led what was left of the family as commander of the Arcanum, using his access into Shadow Academy records to search for lost members of the Dupar line. Elsewhere in Clan Arcona, Taigikori Aybara had fought the Jedi Crask and joined forces with Aabsdu as head of the [[Shadow Academy]], unaware of his own severed connection to the Dupar line through his adopted father, an old and distant descendant of Graal Dupar. Though his blood was Aybara, his adopted father had evaded the remnants of the Empire and any connection to the Force after the destruction of the second Death Star. Aabsdu discovered this lost line between he and his Praetor, and officially adopted Taigikori into the [[Dupar]] family, linking Master and Apprentice, but leaving a great many questions unanswered.

As Quaestor of Qel-Droma of Clan Arcona, Taigikori was a main political figure behind the rise and overall win to Clan Arcona. He personally led the house for half of the war before stepping down from Quaestor to focus on his Praetorian duties, and his overall attention to the Antei front.

At the beginning of the war, the Clan summit coordinated their attacks from the Eye of the Abyss II. Once the first shots were fired, and the Brotherhood engaged in a dual of the fates with Crask and his Jedi, Arcona was on their on. Consul [[Sashar]] was absent for most of the first week, leaving the weight of Arcona's War duties to fall on Pro-Consul [[Vorion]]. Despite this set back, the lower Equites of Arcona proved their worth and continued on to a glorious victory.

== Birth of a Sith ==
Born in the year 10 After the Battle of Yavin, Taigikori Aybara bore the affinity for the force at such an early age. Since his birth was brought during the rising of the New Empire, Coruscant was not a safe haven for his father, nor mother with their new born son.

== Entry to Clan Taldryan ==
In the year 22ABY, the whispers of recruiting had reached Taigikori's ears. Those force adepts who could touch the force were being rounded up and asked to join the service of the Brotherhood. The Grand Master at this time was Grand Master Jac. Taig had heard of the man's exploits, not knowing the difference between previous Sith lords of legend, and him. Through out the first few months, Taig ignored the calls. He worked alongside his father as master apprentice to his pod-racing engineering firm. It was headquartered a few kilo's from the old Jedi Temple itself.

During certain times of the day, the young man would let his eyes drift to the ancient structure.

In the year 27 ABY, Taigikori asked the hand of [[Jendan Morgana]]. She agreed immediately, and together they began building a future for themselves, and unbeknown to them; a son. Though torn between two different Clans, the two made time for themselves in a flat on the planet Coruscant, Taig's home planet. Time went by, and in 31 ABY they discovered that they were pregnant with a son, who would be named after his father. Joyed with the news, Taigikori secretly made plans to secure himself a role on the Dark Council, having already worked his way into three [[Dark Summit]] positions. His wish was to build a solid foundation and future for his son, while still striving in his ever persistent goal of self perfection; the true Sith within him.

The [[Ninth Great Jedi War]] still fell across the Dupars as it did every family. Having lost contact with each other, Patriarch [[Aabsdu]] led what was left of the family as commander of the Arcanum, using his access into Shadow Academy records to search for lost members of the Dupar line. Elsewhere in Clan Arcona, Taigikori Aybara had fought the Jedi Crask and joined forces with Aabsdu as head of the [[Shadow Academy]], unaware of his own severed connection to the Dupar line through his adopted father, an old and distant descendant of Graal Dupar. Though his blood was Aybara, his adopted father had evaded the remnants of the Empire and any connection to the Force after the destruction of the second Death Star. Aabsdu discovered this lost line between he and his Praetor, and officially adopted Taigikori into the [[Dupar]] family, linking Master and Apprentice, but leaving a great many questions unanswered.

As Quaestor of Qel-Droma of Clan Arcona, Taigikori was a main political figure behind the rise and overall win to Clan Arcona. He personally led the house for half of the war before stepping down from Quaestor to focus on his Praetorian duties, and his overall attention to the Antei front.

At the beginning of the war, the Clan summit coordinated their attacks from the Eye of the Abyss II. Once the first shots were fired, and the Brotherhood engaged in a dual of the fates with Crask and his Jedi, Arcona was on their on. Consul [[Sashar]] was absent for most of the first week, leaving the weight of Arcona's War duties to fall on Pro-Consul [[Vorion]]. Despite this set back, the lower Equites of Arcona proved their worth and continued on to a glorious victory.

Their identities are kept a secret from others, sve the Captain of the Guard and the Black Guards master.

The Black Guard was founded by Daihok Endymiron and Shin’ichi Endymiron Keibatsu as an elite guard unit selected to serve their assigned summit member in the same way that [[starwars:Darth Vader|Darth Vader]] served [[starwars:Palpatine|Emperor Palpatine]]. Acting as their iron fist and shadowed hand.

The idea struck the two [[starwars:Dark Jedi|Dark Jedi]] shortly after Daihok ascended to the position of Quaestor of [[House Marka Ragnos]]. Feeling that his position was shaky and his safety uncertain Daihok sought to have his cousin Shin’ichi, then known as [[Tharivol Endymiron]], act as a bodyguard for the sole purpose of defending him from physical harm. As time went on Shin’ichi took it upon himself to act in a more proactive manner and began to route out conspiracies and plots against his cousin and master eventually acting upon them with deadly resolve. Soon he found himself investigating not only plots against the Quaestor of Marka Ragnos, but plots against the whole of [[Clan Naga Sadow]]. The two felt the time had come for Naga Sadow to defend itself against all threats both overt and covert.

They approached the Overlord, Consul [[Xanos Zorrixor]], and Proconsul Trevarus with a proposition to form the Order of the Black Guard. After much debate and discussion the idea was approved and Daihok and Shin’ichi were told to seek out six more members to form the order. Thus the Order of the Black Guard was born.

Over time the order had developed into an extensive network, with many guardsmen going on to serve in various leadership roles within the clan. While only seven members were active at any one time, any previous guardsman could be called up at a moments notice to serve the will of the summit.

In 31 ABY, the current Clan Rollmaster, [[Tyren Atema]] revised this rule. Only seven would there be, and no more. The plan was to have seven Black Guard, with no reserves. The former blackguards would not continue their assignments or retain their clearence.

Only the best of Naga Sadow are selected to act as Black Guard. Through activity, skill, and observation of demonstrations of loyalty are potential members selected. Some go their whole careers in Naga Sadow without ever serving in the guard.

Recruitment is done in secrecy by the Captain of the Guard in co-ordination with the Clan Summit. Observation of members daily rutines is essential in this phase. Only those at the rank of Protector would be allowed admittence.

Once a potential candidate is recruited they are sent to Sadow Palace for the first phase of training. This phase is known as “indoctrination” and consists of classroom instruction on a wide variety of topics including; procedure, interrogation, galactic law, slicing, finance, political science, etiquette, business practices, analysis, critical thinking, cross cultural studies, and special one-on-one classes on loyalty. It was a former practice to keep the recruits in phase one for a full year. This has changed. They are put through the hardest mental tests in both the Clan and the Dlarit Navy in a matter of months, or even weeks depending on the recruits current rank. This is the reason Black Guard are often changed, due to heavy mental stress and paranoia.

Phase two is known as “hardening” and consists of all manner of physical training both in enclosed gymnasiums and in the field, and field operations and skills. These courses include; small arms, heavy weapons, bladed weapons, demolitions, intense lightsaber drill, force drill, assassination technique, vehicle operations, spacecraft operations, field tactics, stealth, [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SERE escape evasion and survival], surviving interrogation, intelligence gathering, counterintelligence, and other classified courses.

Upon completion of these two phases of training a candidate is then ready for the final test, a test of loyalty and endurence. After this simple but important ritual, the guardsmen is assigned to his respectful master for duty.

== Overview ==

The Dark Jedi Brotherhood recently established its own new form of communication, through the use of the Ventrilo chat application. For those of you who have never heard of Ventrilo, check it out [http://www.ventrilo.com/about.php here]. Basically, it's a server where anyone with a headset can come and talk to each other in real time. Headsets are cheap, and can be bought at stores such as Wal-Mart and Circuit City.

As this is a Brotherhood-wide form of communication, a few Dark Council members now have their own channels, and some other Dark Brotherhood Clans have channels of their own as well. Those Clans also have protected channels specifically for their Summit members to discuss things. It isn't a complicated interface, and it is multi-tasking friendly. Check it out!

The VIN Atrum Vorago is one of three new ships commissioned to serve in the [[Shadow Academy]] fleet after the [[Ninth Great Jedi War]], along with the [[VSDII Paladin]] and the [[M/CRV Pyralis]]. The primary function of the VIN Atrum Vorago is simply to bolster the strength of the Academy fleet, providing a wealth of firepower from the ship itself and its contingent of X Wings, Tie Hunters, and K Wings. Like the Paladin and the Pyralis, the Atrum Vorago has yet to mark its presence in any major Brotherhood battles.

The ship, and its commander, Lirri Orono, are under the direct command of the Headmaster and his Praetor. However, with appropriate evidence of permission only acceptable from the Headmaster, a Magistrate may make temporary use of the ship for the well being of the Brotherhood as a whole, in any conflict in which the Brotherhood finds itself united against a common foe.

Enhancements and modifications were equipped to the ship almost immediately as it came into service in the fleet. Due to the primary purpose of the ship to be to provide combat support for the rest of the fleet, the modifications were entirely combat orientated, featuring enhanced shields and an enlarged hangar to allow for the quicker deployment of the star fighter contingency held within the ship.

During the reign of [[Grand Master]] Khyron, a [[starwars:Dark Jedi|Dark Jedi]] [[House]] was formed in the system where Ulic Qel-Droma had seen his last battle. The House was named [[Arcona]] and its first leader was [[Sith Warrior]] Donitz. Donitz however never made it to the day to see his [[House]] fully established as the day before the [[Grand Master]] was to give his official approval and blessing, he disappeared into the nothingness of Space, never to be seen again. Instead of him, [[Krath Pontifex]] Gilkane was instated into the position of [[Quaestor]], aided by [[Obelisk Templar|Obelisk Warrior]] Dreadnaught. [[Arcona]] was blessed with a large amount of talent and immediately seized Right of Supremacy among all [[Houses]] in the next vendetta. After the vendetta, Pontifex Gilkane resigned to go into the wilderness and work on his own Force understanding and Dreadnaught was called upon to establish a new [[House]]'s presence elsewhere. So the leadership of [[Arcona]] fell to Krath Priestess Lioness. Lioness was eager and talented, but she had ideas not in accordance with what the [[Dark Council]] expected and was in the end forced to resign her leadership. No replacement was appointed and [[House]] [[Arcona]] began to crumble.

=== Nighthawk and the New Arcona ===

It was several months later that a young and loyel [[Jedi Hunter]] named [[Nighthawk]] approached the [[Dark Council]] with the request for permission to rebuild the presence that had once been [[House]] [[Arcona]]. He had the support of Lioness' former [[Aedile]], [[Sith Warrior]] Shark, and together they began a steady process of growth. In less than a year, what had been a dead [[House]] was a flourishing assembly of 70 [[starwars:Dark Jedi|Dark Jedi]] of all ranks and so it was decided to expand [[Arcona]] into a [[Clan]]. Two new [[Houses]] were formed, [[House Galeres]] on Garrida and, on the other inhabitable world of the Coronoda system, Mar Sala, a [[House]] was established to bear his name. [[Sith Warrior]] Shark was the first [[Quaestor]] of [[House]] Qel-Droma while [[Nighthawk]] was now [[Consul]] of [[Arcona]].

=== Oriens Obscurum and the Reordering ===

While [[Arcona]] was prospering, a neighboring [[Clan]], [[Scholae Palatinae]], was doing far less well. They had deteriorated to a point where barely more than a single [[House]]'s worth of [[starwars:Jedi|Jedi]] were left and thus it was decided to downgrade the [[Clan]] to a [[House]]. This House was then given to [[Clan Arcona]]. Many talented members, especially veteran [[Sith]] called this [[House]] their home and it became a great asset to the [[Clan]]. Then came the day when [[Grand Master]] Khyron ordered the most massive restructuring the [[Dark Brotherhood]] had ever seen. No longer were [[Houses]] to have members of all three [[Order]]s but they were to concentrate their powers on one [[Order]] and its abilities, with a [[Clan]] having one [[Krath]] [[House]], one [[Sith]] [[House]] and one [[Obelisk]] [[House]]. [[House Galeres]] had traditionally been strong with [[Obelisk]] members and had [[DJM]] Blazer, a former [[CoG]] as their [[Quaestor]], so it was natural for them to become the [[Obelisk]] [[House]]. Qel-Droma was as natural a choice for [[Krath]] given their namesake and location, so [[House Oriens Obscurum]] became [[Sith]]. Archpriest Gavron became the first [[Quaestor]] of the restructured [[House]] Qel-Droma.

=== Lord Thedek's Reign ===

These incidents fell just before [[Grand Master]] Khyron retired. In his place, Lord Thedek was appointed [[Grand Master]]. As a result of his ascension, [[Nighthawk]] was appointed [[Master at Arms]] and Gavron was chosen as the new [[Consul]] for [[Arcona]]. The new [[Quaestor]] of Qel-Droma was Joker, although he unfortunately had to relinquish the post shortly after appointment due to a ship collision that left him out of commission for several months, nearly killing him. Following in his footsteps were Frost (aided by [[AED]] Zander) and then [[Alex d'Tana]] (with [[KPN]] Voranyen as [[Aedile]]). In this time, [[House]] Qel-Droma had two [[Krath]] [[Phyle]]s, the Dark Orb [[Phyle]] and the Loreseekers. Following a gradual decline in membership, the Loreseekers were closed, leaving Dark Orb as the only [[Phyle]] in [[House]] Qel-Droma.

=== The Rise of Mejas Doto ===

While the resignation of Lord Thedek and the ascension of Lord Zoraan to the Iron Throne had little effect on the [[House]], it still marked the timeline. Some time after Zoraan had assumed rulership, [[House]] Qel-Droma had again regrown somewhat. A second [[Phyle]] was reinstated under the command of [[Jedi Hunter]] Cyrax Lionheart, but Cyrax never made it to any exploits as he was one day found dead in his chambers. Succeeding him was [[Acolyte]] Kaiann, a recent graduate of the [[Shadow Academy]]. At the same time, Alex also resigned and am ambitious young Archpriest, named [[Mejas Doto]], was appointed the new [[Quaestor]] of Qel-Droma. Dark Orb [[Phyle]] remained in the capable hands of [[Krath Priest]] D'hak and Pontifex Voranyen continued on as [[Aedile]].

=== Another Haunting Visit ===

Around these days, the Cathedral found itself in uproar again. Several younger Jedi had apparitions, especially of Ulic Qel-Droma and those who had been killed centuries ago. In a dreadful night, Qel- Droma came back to once again haunt the place he died, leaving two [[Acolyte]]s dead before finally being dispatched by the joint efforts of the [[Quaestor]] and several of the younger Jedi. They recognized the meaning of Kasal Diglapari's prophecy and thus it was decided to name the second [[Phyle]] Hell's Gatekeepers.

=== The Krath Rite of Supremacy and the Exodus ===

Little of the history is known, lost in the times of war. The Exodus was particularly painful for the House as they fled their old home, carrying with them everything they could muster in that short time. Most of the old knowledge the House had was lost to the Emperor's Hammer, what they did save is stored, safely in the Qel-Droman temple on Arconeae Primus.

=== History ===

The structure that serves as the Qel-Droman temple on Arconeae Primus is still a point of some contention, as well as anger. The building itself is an amalgamation of the technological and the ancient, bearing little resemblance to the ancient tomb House Qel-Droma once called home.
During the exodus from the Emperor's Hammer, [[House Qel-Droma]] was forced to almost literally cut and run, taking what they could with them in the way of documents, artifacts and databases. The sum total knowledge amassed by the House since its inception had to be placed into two categories: invaluable and expendable. And as no Krath deems any knowledge to be expendable, the hasty decisions made during the migration were both painful and costly.
At the same time, the very temple that had served as home and archive for the noble House as well had to be abandoned, left for the pale splinter group within the Emperor's Hammer to deal with as they pleased.
Thus the loyal of Qel-Droma traveled far to the quickly acquired Dajorra system, armed with the bulk of their collected knowledge, but with no repository in which to store it, and no home in which to live.

Upon arrival on the sphere that would come to be named Arconeae Primus, the [[Krath]] found a jungle and swamp covered world, whose only distinguishing features were sporadic ruins indicating some long lost civilization that had once dwelled on the world. It was at one of these ruin sites, a fairly clear area in the jungle, approximately 1km square in size that House Qel-Droma decided to construct their new home. Focusing on a large, fairly intact structure left over from the previous inhabitants of the planet, the Krath first raised the pre-fabricated Garrison base acquired during their flight from the EH territories. The building was constructed within, and in some cases around, the existing structure.
This makeshift base of operations served well as a temporary shelter for the Krath and their many treasures, but the limitations of the garrison building soon began to show as the elements and native predators of the area began to slowly ware away at the building and its pre-fabricated materials.
But by this time, other planets in the Dajorra system had been explored and colonized by the [[Clan Arcona]], and one of them, Arconeae Secundus, was discovered to hold a primitive culture of sentients. The Krath seized this opportunity, and had a large workforce shipped to their jungle world. Once there, the Krath invaded the minds of the simple beings, charging them with the task of constructing a home and monument worthy of their new masters.
Over months of back-breaking and treacherous labor, the slaves cut new building blocks from the surrounding mountains, and used the modern technology of their new masters to meld metal and stone into a mighty fortress.

=== Grounds ===

The grounds of the temple adhere to the general shape of the pre-exiting ruins. Light jungle terrain stops suddenly at a foundation of flat yellowed stone, whose ancient cracks have been filled-in with modern permacrete, giving the expanse a strange "gold-with-silver-veins" appearance in the glint of the setting sun.

=== First Floor ===

From the flat foundation one comes to a raised area accessible from a short but wide staircase to the main entrance. Just in front of this staircase are three perfectly intact obelisk stones; remnants of the lost civilization. The markings on these are, as of yet, undecipherable. They were preserved during the temple's construction because the Clan elders felt that, in an abstract way, the three pillars were representative of the three Orders of the Brotherhood. Just to the right of the three pillars is a separate raised dais, whose only unique feature is a large statue of Ulic Qel-Droma. The statue had been nothing more than a plain chunk of stone leftover from the ruins. But shortly after construction on the temple concluded, someone took the time to carve out a representation of the Dark Lord of the Sith, apparently with a lightsaber.

Ahead from the top of the stairs the main archway leads to a long, wide hallway, lined with rows of irregularly spaced pillars. Most of these are original structures of the ruins, but approximately every third pillar is a durasteel replacement, most having holo-portraits of famous Arconans installed on their surfaces about 5 feet from the floor.

At the end of the main entry hall is a roughly square room whose center is taken up with what has come to be called the "Reflecting pool." Part of the original ruins, this pool has, since its discovery, contained none but the clearest and purest of water. The Krath have yet to fully explain the source of this water, or how its purity is maintained in the shallow pool. Nevertheless, the reflecting pool has come to be a popular location for meditation within the temple.

Forward from the reflecting pool is a long, dark stairway that slopes gently into the earth and into the depths of the temple. Various sensors and security devices have been installed along this stairwell, programmed to detain, and if necessary destroy, anything the central computer does not recognize as authorized personnel. The stairway is completely unlit, and has no hand railings. No one is precisely sure what lies at the bottom of the large spaces on either side of the staircase; even Force-enhanced senses seem to be blocked from investigating them. One of the first tests of any initiate of the House is to reach the bottom of the staircase using the barest sense of the Force as their only guide through the treacherous darkness.

=== Lower Floor A ===

Once reaching the bottom of the staircase, large durasteel doors open into a huge enclosed area, nearly the size of a standard city block. The majority of the area is taken up by secluded study areas, made up of large tables, comfortable chairs, and lit with soft glow lamps. But the centerpieces are the two formidable vaults at the far side of the room. These are the highly prized archives of House Qel-Droma. Case upon case, shelf upon shelf of scrolls, artifacts, and datacards hold the tales, researches, and discoveries of countless Dark Jedi and Sith throughout known history. The vaults themselves are essentially huge boxes made of a permacrete/durasteel mix, seamlessly melded into the bedrock of the temple's foundation. Huge doors are programmed to seal the vaults immediately upon either threat of fire, invasion, or any other potential catastrophe.

Past the archives is a short hallway, whose most immediate destinations are the only recognizable remains of the original pre-fabricated garrison: two large barracks buildings, now part of the temple's overall structure. Each building contains two rows of living quarters, and a central area for dining, studying, and general socialization. Each private room is supplied with a bed, storage locker, and personal facilities, and can be customized to a certain extent by the current tenant. The barracks serve as the initial home for all incoming House members, up until the rank of Dark Jedi Knight is attained. At that point, the Dark Knight can opt to find or build his own dwelling outside the temple. But regardless, a handful of rooms are always kept "open" for any member's usage, should their studies require them to spend extended periods of time in the temple.

Past the barracks areas, the hallway begins a steady angled climb back towards ground level, and the next feature is the Communications Room. Here is housed the most state-of-the-art in communications technology. The Comm Room not only monitors HoloNet broadcasts and manages all incoming and outgoing communications of House and Clan members, but it has also been specially modified by the Arconan Krath. Unique to Qel-Droma is the fact that the Comm Center is also tapped into a long forgotten Imperial Ubiqtorate data stream, which not only allows for the most secure encryptions in the galaxy to be available to the House, but also provides access to many classified Imperial records. Despite this advantage, the Arconan Krath still struggle to crack into Emperor Palpatine's personal files pertaining to the Jedi and, more importantly, the ancient Sith.

Past the Comm Room is a voice coded, secure passageway. This leads to the area of the temple containing the private quarters of the House Quaestor and Aedile. A long hallway extends parallel to both rooms, and is adorned with various Clan artifacts, trophies, and intricate busts of Quaestors past. At each end of this hallway a large and powerful security droid stands guard to intercept any potential intruders. Both the Quaestor's and Aedile's chambers are large and heavily fortified, and the interiors of each are furnished to the occupant's wishes. A second, larger security door at the end of the hallway leads back to the reflecting pool, and the entrance of the temple.

Moving back to the archives room, a second passage on the south side leads to what has come to be called the Honor Room. Once the temple was completed, this room, an entirely intact chamber from the original ruins, was found to be a strong focus of dark side energy. While the reasons behind this focus is currently unknown, the plain chamber has become the location in which the ceremonies to elevate House members take place. Rumor has it that being granted a new title in the energy-filled room imparts some additional Force power to the honoree, but this has yet to be proven in any way.

Past the Honor Room, the hallway angles steeply upwards, leading back to and above ground level, terminating in the entrance to a broad staircase. This leads to the second level of the temple. The stairway was designed so that many House members could ascend at one time.

=== Added Facilities ===

Shortly after the House Qel-Droma Phyle War, the House Temple’s architect, [[Vassan Rokir]], undertook a number of additions to the temple, to better accommodate the growing numbers in the House, as well as to mark the anniversary of the Brotherhood’s division from the Emperor’s Hammer.

==== Laboratory ====

Off a newly made hallway from the entrance to the summit quarters, the Lab is a multi-purpose workspace for House members. Reserved on request, the laboratory is stocked with supplies both technological and alchemical, depending on the needs of the user. Anything from lightsabers to poisons could be created here, with the proper ingredients.

==== Meditation Centre ====

This hollowed-out area down the hall from the Laboratory is reserved as a sound proof, secluded area for members to conduct either individual or group meditative sessions. Several members sit within this room in complete darkness, in order to better commune with the darkness that resides within, and without.

=== Conference Room ===

Down a newly made hallway from the staircase leading to the Oval Dome, a formal conference room has been added. This room is intended for use by Phyles or summit members to conduct more private conclaves than would be done in a wide public area, such as the Oval Dome. It may also be reserved by interested parties for private debate or conversation on the dark side itself, or discussion of special research projects.

==== Storage Room ====

Down the hall from the Conference Room, a storage room has been added to warehouse food supply stockpiles and extra equipment, should Arconae Primus be cut off from Clan supply lines for any unforeseen length of time. The room also acts as a supplementary archive of many non-rare items from the House archives.

==== Phyle Monument ====

Constructed to pay tribute to the superior Phyle of the House, the Phyle Monument to Dark Orb has been placed near the main entrance of the Temple.

At the top of the long staircase, visitors arrive inside a huge oval dome, whose size rests atop the majority of the temple's lower floors. This dome is supported by a ring of gigantic pillars that sit around the inside perimeter of the dome. The interior walls are covered in large murals depicting both House and Clan successes in battles and discoveries past. Otherwise, the dome remains as mostly empty space. The Oval Dome acts as the House's multi-purpose room. When not used for full House meetings, the dome can be reserved for training initiates in the use of the Force, lightsaber dueling, and meditation.

=== History Mk.II ===

Shortly after the third Sith War of the modern era, House Qel-Droma initiated an internal conflict to, essentially, "cull the herd" for those worthy to hold a place as the most valuable and honored of the Krath in the House.
The conflict was long and arduous, with the two Krath Phyles fighting to become the favored denizens of the recently constructed House Qel-Droma Temple.
For over a month in the first quarter of the Dark Brotherhood year 1 A.S. (1 year After the Split) tyro fought tyro amid the stone hallways and jungle surrounding of the temple, all in an effort to impress their superiors, and themselves, of who was most worthy.
When the haze of battle cleared, the results were indeed very, very close. But a winner was chosen, and it was the Dark Orb.
Designed by Vassan Rokir, Aedile of Qel-Droma, who had as well designed the Qel-Droman temple itself, the monument rest near the entrance to the temple, displayed prominently for all who come and go. The base of the monument was carved from a block of solid, black rock mined from the nearby mountains. The plaque reads "Dark Orb," the letters made from the durable golden glitterstone and set into a base of wrought durasteel. The base also houses a repulsorlift field generator, which leds itself to the rest of the design.
Set on either side of the flat, square top of the monuments base are two angled spikes of a polished platinum/durasteel mix. These spikes each represent Knowledge and Power, the two basic virtues of the Krath Order.
And floating between the two spikes, thanks to the aforementioned repulsorlift field, is a large sphere of violet Corsuca stone. Polished to a mirror finish, the sphere is set to rotate in time with the rotation of the temple's homeworld, Arconae Primus. In a galaxy so recently divided by the Yuuzhan Vong, few know of the <i>Arcanum</i>. Constantly on the move it is never in the same place for more than a day. Within its halls, however, waits hundreds of hopeful recruits to the Dark Jedi Brotherhood. They are tested to see rather they have what it takes, while others are here to simply expand their knowledge of the Force and the universe. On a distant planet, a struggle is about to occur that will test the strength of the Shadow Academy, and, if victorious, provide the <i>Arcanum</i> with a valuable new weapon.

==Prelude==

===Onboard the Arcanum; 29 ABY===

"We must remain on schedule. Locate it and bring it back as quickly as possible."

The hologram flicked out of existence. Headmaster [[Aabsdu di Plagia Dupar]] sat at his desk, reading over the reports provided by his Magistrates [[Kalak Ragnose]] and [[Taigikori Aybara]]. He slid his hand over the datapads, trying to organize the mass numbers of passings and failings along with the numerous over pieces of data. The report on the mission on Zarente caught his attention.

He touched his comlink, "Get me Magistrate Kalak."

===The planet Zarente, in the Outer Rim===

The whir of the speeder echoed down the alley. Praetor to the Headmaster Dacien Victae di Plagia doubled back and threw himself through a half open door. Slamming a power charge into his blaster, he swung out and fired several shots at the approaching security force, hitting two of the six. Igniting the light blue blade of his lightsaber, he stepped back out into the alleyway as the four men took aim and fired. The shots were easily deflected as Dacien slowly stepped closer to them. He cut his saber sideways, slicing two of the guards straight through the visor of their helmets. He dropped to one knee, sliding the blade through the kneecap of another guard. Rolling sideways, his hand flew forward as the last guard was suddenly picked up and slammed into the side of the building by some invisible force.

Breathing heavily, Dacien wiped away the sweat that had formed on his brow from his escape from the queen's castle. He turned back down the alley, just as a hovertank fired its missile...

===Short on Time===

Breathing heavily and wiping the thin perspiration from his brow, Dacien grabbed his saber and turned just as a hovertank fired its missile. It arched towards him and he raised his hand, ready to call the force to his aid. Suddenly, a a black haired female jumped at him from the side, pulling him sideways as the missile blew past them into the street. She jumped up and ran, half pulling him behind her. Tired and willing to try anything to get away from the soldiers, Dacien followed until they reached a waiting airspeeder.

As she motioned to get in, Dacien ignited his saber and held it to her neck, "Answers. Now."

She remained calm, oblivious to the danger, "My name is Sephi Jax. I am forty-five years..."

Sephi was cut short as Dacien tightened his grip on the saber, "I'm on a deadline, don't waste time."

"I'm a member of a group of freedom fighters attempting a coup against the Queen's tyranny. I saw her army chasing you. The enemy of your enemy is your friend, you know?"

"Why does any of this concern me?" Dacien was getting impatient. He needed to finish his job and get back to the <i>Arcanum</i> soon.

"Honestly," she said, "because we are losing the war. If we don't gain an advantage soon we'll be finished by the end of the year."

Dacien considered the proposal for a moment, lightsaber still centimeters from the girl's throat. No doubt the heat was making her sweat, "I tend to follow up on favors."

She grinned at him, "We'll be happy to oblige."

===Ill tempered===

<i>Queen's Throne Room

Varik Citadel

Zarente System</i>

The hologram flickered into life, creating a monochrome figure dressed in a dark robe, around two feet tall, in the middle of the room. Tatania Varik, Queen of Zarente, motioned with her hand for her guards, silently waiting among the pillars, to leave, and they did. She draped her arm over the edge of her throne, smoothing out her golden silk dress. The figure raised its head, hidden behind an ancient tribal mask, and looked at the queen.

"Have you killed the Jedi yet," rasped the figure.

"He will be dead soon enough. My men are searching for him, but we suspect the rebels may have grabbed him."

"Do not underestimate a Jedi, especially one as high ranked in my organization as this one. I need not remind you of the battle droids waiting for you should you succeed, or fail. I will send a pair of Dianoga fighters to assist you in your search, but be watchful. Do not fail me... your majesty."

The figure stood long enough for his point to be made, and then flickered away. Queen Varik sat still on her throne, thinking, twisting a strand of her copper hair in her fingers. Her remaining in power depending upon the alliance with the figure, it was the only way she could put down the rebels before they manage to do any permanent damage.

Finally, she stood, pulling a comlink from the folds of her dress. She spoke a few words before returning it, and then walked away, heels clicking on the polished marble.

===Endurance===

Dawn broke as the speeder whizzed along a stretch of desolate, uninhabited land. Its passengers were treated to a truly spectacular sight as soft, gold rays fell across their faces. Praetor to the Headmaster and Sith Warlord Dacien Victae di Plagia stared out at the landscape, taking it all in while at the same time weighing his options and planning his mission. They were drawing near to a great split in the ground, a crack upon the geography. Small enough to barely be noticeable from orbit, but large enough, apparently, to play host to a series of buildings linked by narrow stone ledges.

The speeder whirred to a stop at the edge of the crack and Sephi jumped out, quickly heading down one of the pathways, "They're rumored to have been created by one of the first humanoid species on the planet a few thousand years ago. Legend says they were wiped out by a plague, but time is the only damage to their structures."

Inside the main hall, burrowed deep within the rock, a different scene confronted Dacien. Around thirty men and women were spread throughout a large, spacious room, cleaning weapons or huddling around primitive fires. A man and a woman quickly reached Sephi as she walked in, saluting her.

"Is this the one you were looking for," the man asked.

Dacien stopped and turned, pulling his lightsaber but keeping it deactivated. Around twenty of the soldiers in the room jumped to attention, weapons aimed, "Looking for? You lied!"

"Everything I said was true," Sephi returned, "but I did know that the Queen's soldiers would be hunting you. We have a contact inside the palace who told us of the situation. I decided to take initiative."

The room abruptly shook and explosions boomed through the caverns. The rebels jumped into action, running about the room and gathering weapons before leaving the cave and heading towards the surface. Ignoring Dacien, Sephi turned and ran, shouting orders. Dacien followed as they scrambled through narrow tunnels, the light at the end growing larger and larger until finally he found himself on the surface again. The whine of fighters echoed through the chasm until another noise caught his attention.

Somewhere nearby, a rebel shouted, "Here they come!!!"

Neither side was well armed with weapons or men. The battle was weak compared to what Dacien had seen among the clans of the Brotherhood. Still, they fought hard, both sides blasting away at the other. War was such a gruesome thing, and Dacien absolutely loved it. Eventually, Sephi and her squad were able to seize the tank. The Dark Jedi took aim carefully, placing a perfect blast on one of the fighters. The other raced towards him, firing three shots that he deflected back into the enemy, including the final fighter.

Slightly weakened from the fighters, Dacien pushed forward, slicing through soldier after soldier. Sephi ran up to him in the midst of the swarm, "This attack is a blessing in disguise, we must push forward into the city. Lead us into battle, Dark Jedi, and then you may have that which you seek."

===Aggressive Negotiations===

<i>Renth, Capital City

Planet Zarente in the Outer Rim</i>

Five black transports glided slowly through the streets, flanked by a large tank. Citizens brave enough to venture out at night ducked into the shadows while security details stopped and watched the tank painted with the seal of the Queen. Entering the courtyard of Varik Citadel, three things happened nearly simultaneously. First, the captain of the Queen's guard had a sudden moment of unease, and ordered his troops to stay alert. Next, a shield of purple appeared in front of the tank's cannon as it fired a blast towards the citadel, rubble falling into the courtyard. Moments after the blast, the transports opened to reveal the freedom fighters, fully armed and ready. The battle had begun.

Inside the citadel, eight rebels led by Dacien and Sephi slipped through the halls undetected. They eased through the antechambers leading into the throne room, the sides decorated with large bronze busts of Varik leaders long gone. Their dynasty was ancient, but it would end tonight.

They stopped outside the throne room, and Dacien and Sephi exchanged quick looks before nodding and bursting in. Blaster fire erupted from hordes of sentinel droids, taking out three of the rebels before they had even entered the room. Dacien's lightsaber twirled in his hands, deflecting shot after shot, but these droids were not his problem. He jumped through the air, landing among three droids that he quickly disarmed. The Dark Jedi looked around the chamber, searching for his target, and then he found her.

Standing beside her throne, the Queen watched the battle curiously, her overconfidence blaring. Her eyes caught Dacien's, and anger flashed across her face before she turned. Not fast enough, however, as Dacien reached out, grabbing her with the Force and throwing her back into her chair. He jumped over, landing inches away, lightsaber to her neck, "I think it's time you gave me what I came for."

Her anger and fear turned to instant defiance, "You think you can just march in here and take what you want? We do not bend so easily. The Varik Dynasty has survived for thousands of years."

"And it will end tonight," Dacien spoke as his eyes turned dark. He reached out to her mind with the Force, digging through her, and she was helpless to stop it. Dacien lost track of time, but eventually the battle moved out of the throne room, but he remained with the Queen. An hour went by, and then she broke, her mind barely intact. She led Dacien into a room hidden behind the throne, and there, on a pedestal, lay his prize. Sephi returned for the Queen, but the Dark Jedi remained, reaching towards the holocron.

He held on to it, closing his eyes and reaching out in the Force, touching it, surrounding it, becoming it. The room filled with the energy of the Dark Side, and then...

From the throne room, Sephi and the Queen looked up as an explosion lifted the throne into the air. Dust filled the room as Dacien stepped into view, his robes scorched, his eyes a maelstrom of fury. Pieces of the holocron lay broken in his hand, "It's a fake! A damn fake!"

He leaped forward, lightsaber instantly in his hand. Sephi moved to stop him, but he flicked his wrist and sent her flying across the room into one of the many columns. He landed in front of the Queen, pinning her against the wall with his lightsaber centimeters from her throat, "Where is it? Tell me!!"

The fear in her voice was obvious as she stammered, "I don't know, I swear! I always thought that it was real. Please, don't..."

She was cut short as Dacien plunged his lightsaber forward, letting her body fall limp to the floor. He turned to Sephi, who looked at him with nothing but fear, "You are not my problem," he said, and then left the room.

==Aftermath==

Shadow Academy Flagship, the Arcanum

Somewhere in the Inner Core</i>

"You have failed me," Headmaster Aabsdu di Plagia Dupar stated blankly to his Praetor, Dacien. He had returned from his mission only hours earlier, but without that which he had left searching for. The disapproval in the Headmaster's voice was blatant. Dacien said nothing, but only kept his head bowed.

"I gave you an assignment, and you will complete that assignment," Aabsdu looked down at the various reports on his desk before turning back to Dacien, "Word has it that there are plans to return to Antei, and Lyspair. If we do, the battle will be tough. The Shadow Academy must be strong enough."

Dacien finally looked up at his long time friend and colleague, but Aabsdu was looking somewhere else, "That is why I am removing you from your position as Praetor to the Headmaster. Your service as been exemplary, but you are needed in other ways now. I cannot have you bogged down by political red tape and duties."

"If that is your will," was all Dacien said.

The Rodian grasped at his throat in vain and then collapsed to the floor, lifeless. A figure stood over him, regarding the fallen Knight with seeming disinterest. From behind a tribal-like mask, eyes glittered coldly, "Wrong place at the wrong time, my friend," he said as he turned, unobserved by the Dark Jedi aboard the <i>Arcanum</i>, and looked back at his weak student.

"So the Praetor survived," the figure rasped, "Perhaps we aimed too high. So be it," he paused, looking at the student for a moment before continuing, "We will move forward regardless."

"Yes, master," the ensign bowed and hurried off. Behind the mysterious tribal mask, the dark eyes turned back, as they so often did, to the stars. Dark times lay ahead for Headmaster Aabsdu and his Shadow Academy, very dark times.

[[Gaming Tribune]] (T:G)—The Gaming Tribune is responsible for very crucial elements of Brotherhood gaming. Although sparse updates to it are needed, the Gaming Tribune is responsible for the [[Rites of Combat]] and helps the [[Dark Council]] establish fair rules for gaming. The Gaming Tribune's weekly work involves the tournament system, in which he helps to host the Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday events and tracks the results for all of the Brotherhood. The Gaming Tribune administers the point system that is temporarily in place until the credit system is released. He also works to help administrate Brotherhood gaming servers. His general duties include:

The Emperor had many dark ventures, not all of which were revealed to his advisors. Not even his apprentice Darth Vader knew all of what went on in his Master's mind, nor what thoughts, ideas and creations were born there. One such idea was Ektrosis.

Long before the Rebellion began, the Emperor would regularly vacation on [http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Byss Byss] and entertain his closet group of advisors and apprentices. All were brilliant minds who had proven their worth and loyalty to their Master. These beings were all introduced to power and brought into the fold of the Dark Side.

While none were permitted to reach the level of control and understanding of [http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Palpatine Palpatine] himself, they were indeed powerful entities themselves. They were split into specialties dictated by their own natural abilities. Some were instructed in the combat arts and made into [[Dark Jedi]]; others became elite Imperial functionaries who traversed the galaxy enforcing the Emperor's will, and still others were put to work researching and experimenting with the "Science of Darkness".

Ektrosis was an elite group of these researchers who were given the task of creating methods to feed on and drain the life essence of the Empire's citizenry. They all had an innate curiosity about the effects of the [[the Force|Force]] on the human body and the galaxy as a whole. This made them the vanguard of the Emperor's plan to squeeze the entire galaxy and every being in it into submission.

The group consisted of scientists who were gifted in the Force, and who were eager to explore as well as experiment with the power and nature of the Force. Ektrosis withdrew into a secret research facility on Byss and worked tirelessly for years, virtually cut off from the rest of the universe. Rumors leaked to the rest of the Emperor's Dark Adepts told of creatures created entirely FROM the Force and beings morphed into atrocious vestiges of their former selves, and finally of techniques for using the Dark Side to drain the essence of beings from their very soul.

Ektrosis gave years of hard work conducting countless experiments, and devoted their lives to their projects. But in the end all they received was censure. This condemnation stemmed from the fact that somewhere in the course of their learning and understanding, they had crossed a line that even the Emperor would not dare approach. For all their work they were banished far from civilization and all they had ever known. There on the fringes of the Empire they continued their work as best as they could, with sub-standard equipment and improvised materials to aid them. The population near their research facility said that the land surrounding their new forced home began to wither and fade. They said that the only things able to survive were those that had been touched by the Force powers that were being experimented with. The only thing known for certain was that the locals never got anywhere near the area.

After the defeat of the second Death Star and the death of the Emperor, the Empire struggled to rebuild. Leaders grabbed power only to be assassinated soon thereafter. Warlords and Admirals fought for pieces of the once-might Empire, while the Rebellion ate away at it from the outside. Finally the return of the brilliant Grand Admiral Thrawn brought hope to the remaining Imperial forces. Thrawn wreaked havoc on the newly established 'New Republic', and would have returned the Empire to it's seat of power if he had not been assassinated by his own bodyguard on his flagship.

Once again the remaining Imperial forces were thrust into civil war. Countless leaders carved out their own fiefdoms throughout the Imperial Remnant's territory. One of these leaders was the self-proclaimed Grand Admiral Ronin, who seized control of an experimental super-ship and formed his own fleet, named The Emperor's Hammer. This fleet carved out its own territory near the Minos Cluster and flourished, eventually bringing the Dark Brotherhood out of hiding to join with them.

With its numbers quickly growing, the Dark Brotherhood formed Clans and Houses. Spies employed by the Emperor's former researchers reported the existence of this group of Dark Jedi, and Ektrosis returned from the imposed exile, and joined the Brotherhood, forming House Ektrosis. No one knew from whence they had come, or what had kept them on the edge of the galaxy for so long, or even how they had gained their incredible knowledge of the Dark Side; all of these truths are uncertain. The only ones who know the whole truth are the Ektrosis members themselves, and they are reluctant to divulge the knowledge that they possess.

Ektrosis, now lead by Shaitan, found acceptance in the Dark Brotherhood and flourished. The House gained many new members who were eager to learn its secrets, eventually growing strong enough to evolve into a Clan. Shaitan joined with another powerful Dark Jedi named Jarla to draw up the designs for the future Clan. Ektrosis would become the Krath House of [[Clan Taldryan]].
