Perched on top of one of the many summits in the Or’ena mountain range on [[Kiast_(Planet)|Kiast]], only a few kilometers or so from the new [[Jedi Praxeum]], the Velastari Temple is an old forgotten [[Vatali_Empire|Vatali]] Jedi temple surrounded by mountain peaks on all sides. Thin wispy clouds and fog tend to linger around it when not otherwise blown away by the cold mountainous air channeled through the mountains. The hot suns of Kiast shine on this particular peak regularly, forming beautiful rainbows as the light reflects off the metallic surface of the Vatali structure. As a result, despite the temple’s heightened elevation, the Velastari Temple and its surroundings atop the peak are warm enough to not only support green vegetation, such as trees and grass, but also humanoid visitors, who can get by with a variety of layers depending on the season. In addition, the elevation makes the air breathable, the toxic fumes of the planet only residing in the lower atmospheres. Past the peak itself, the ground drops away quickly, forming dangerous ridges that travellers can use to travel from peak to peak.

Occupying a relatively flat portion of land on the summit, the Velastari Temple invokes the Jedi temples of old but with the classic design elements of the Vatali civilization and a few changes to suite the terrain. Hooded Vatali statues flank its entrance, the aged metallic stone having long lost its luster. The atrium of the temple is surrounded by four spiraling pillars and is filled in between with a cacophony of support structures, some of which include landing pads and storage. This once well-organized system of buildings has fallen into disarray, ancient machinery and debris breaking up any direct approach to the main temple itself. Long defunct droids, some partially scavenged, can be found throughout the atrium. As to the spiraling pillars, no one is quite sure if they are structurally sound, but they appear to have been watchtowers and may have possibly at some point served a secondary purpose due to the number of additional rooms within it.

Once one makes it past the atrium, the main temple itself comes into view, towering over the smaller spirals below. Like other ancient Jedi temples, it has many mysteries that will only reveal themselves to Force-users, unlocking portions of the temple one might assume didn’t exist. Its architecture is highly reminiscent of the old Jedi Order, though less grand in scale than its peers. Nevertheless, it has all of the remains of core components one would expect, such as a Jedi Council room, housing, a library, and training rooms. Few enter the temple itself unless undergoing trials and Odan-Urr does it best to preserve the Velastari Temple from further damage. This landmark serves as not only inspiration to the next generation of Jedi but also as a solemn reminder of the Jedi long gone.

Smaller mountain peaks surround it and in the distance nearby on another summit of the mountain you can see the '[[Velastari Temple]]' — Jedi temple long forgotten — which is a source of inspiration for the Jedi Praxeum’s students and serves as a reminder of the Jedi long gone.

The mountain range emerges to a height of almost a thousand meters out of the seething fumes of Kiast’s toxic lower atmosphere. The sulfuric gases, searing temperatures and crushing pressure of the planet surface make the range seem like an isolated island, but fortunately occasional shuttle flights connect it to civilization. These shuttles exchange supplies and personnel with the [[Kiast (Planet)#Essadan|Essadan skyhooks]] and the [[Odanite Expeditionary Force]] in orbit, and the Academy also makes a landing platform available for the personal starships of guests and visitors.
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
==Layout of School==
The school itself is actually a campus consisting of several types of buildings. There are the main educational spires, outdoor facilities, and support infrastructure. The main educational spires — one of the first things a visitor sees upon arrival — along with key outdoor facilities and some support buildings, are grouped closely together, while the rest of the school is spread out across the campus. As a result, the campus is rather large but most of it leaves the mountainous wilderness untouched, save for farms that dot the landscape.

As one approaches the school from either air or land, they will eventually see [[starwars:Watchtower|watchtower pods]] which are a holdover from the campus’s origins as an old [[Species#Sephi|Sephi]] base. Once used for war, they are now repurposed for weather observation, search and rescue, scientific instruments, and other needs as required. As you pass the watchtowers and enter the campus itself, farms dot the landscape, along with their various support infrastructure, which includes livestock barns. With the exception of the farms, there isn’t much to see in the outer portion of the campus besides the mountainous landscape itself. But if one were to look closely enough, one might see man-made landmarks of significance and odd structures every now and then, doing their best to blend in with the surrounding environment. These are used for a variety of purposes, whether they be for ceremonies, trials, creative ways to meditate, or something else the campus’s inhabitants have created.

The heart of the campus reveals itself as one travels inwards. It is a bustle of activity, housing the key services that most students would use every day. First, visitors see the various support infrastructure that predominantly resides at the lower levels of the mountain, formerly parts of the lower levels of the Sephi base. These have been restored since and are used to support the heart of the school with a landing pad, hangars, mechanical and power infrastructure, and storage. Some supporting infrastructure, mostly storage, exists outside the main complex, but none of the core essentials are located there. Food and produce, which included anything imported by merchants, is held inside the main complex itself. In addition, there are a few stand-alone structures in the outer circle, scattered around the main educational spires. These serve key functions but aren’t absolutely required for the day to day education of students. Examples include the Ashla zen garden, workshop, outdoor sparring and training areas, outdoor meditation zones, and special landmarks inlaid with key Jedi principles and history.

As visitors move into the inner ring of the heart of the campus, they find the educational spires themselves as well as the auditorium and gym. These spires of various heights jut out from the school’s base and form the very foundation of the school and include its most important facilities. There are four spires: North, South, East, and West. Each spire has specific purposes, but overall they train and educate future Jedi in a curriculum that ensures they are ready for the galaxy at large.

'''North Spire:''' This spire serves to educate students in the art of the [[Lightsabers|lightsaber]]. As the most iconic art form Jedi will ever learn, great care has been taken in the spire’s design. The first floor is comprised of a small handful of large classrooms made to allow everyone the space they need to swing a saber and not stab someone by accident. The second floor has the all important lunch room as well as several exercise rooms with training droids that come with multiple difficulty settings to fit any challenge. The third floor holds a study hall and a few meditation rooms. The fourth floor is mostly frequented by older students or those undergoing a trial. It includes several teachers’ offices open to any instructor, staff rooms, an advanced exercise room that requires teacher supervision, and lastly a workbench for lightsaber repair and maintenance along with any needed supplies.

'''South Spire:''' This spire serves to educate students with the knowledge they need to function in the galaxy at large successfully, which is especially important for younger students who may not have had any formal education yet. The first floor consists of smaller classrooms made to focus on smaller groups of students. The second floor includes several labs as well as the lunch room for students to use at their leisure. Cooks prepare regular meals every day. The third floor holds a study hall and several meditation rooms. The fourth floor houses the general library, which covers Clan lore and a wide variety of non-Force topics key to understanding and operating within the galaxy. The fifth floor includes several teachers’ offices, mostly held by tenured teachers or guest lecturers. The fifth floor also houses the small library of books and holocrons that was saved off of [[New Tython]]. It is open and accessible to anyone permitted on the campus.

'''East Spire:''' This spire serves to provide a means for students — mostly younger ones — to exercise and train their bodies. While this spire is structurally sound, its proximity to the nearby forest has resulted in nature reclaiming the interior of the spire itself. Rather than knock it down or renovate it, the interior has been re-purposed to serve as a jungle gym like obstacle course in which students can play a variety of games. The natural intrusions into the spire break up any linear movement and force students to use the Force to reach the top, which requires properly maneuvering the winding twists and turns that stand in one’s way. In addition to platforms and creative uses of walls (among many other things), there are several ropes one can use to get around. This jungle gym can be used for trials for younger students, competitive games, and whatever else students can think up.

'''West Spire:''' This spire serves to house students and teachers. The first floor serves as a large common room. As such, the Headmaster’s office is situated on this floor, as well as any administrative functions. This floor is carefully decorated to show the best the Jedi have to offer. The second through fourth floors serve as the ‘Spire Housing’ for students. Any additional floors above that serve as ‘Spire Housing’ for fully-grown students and teachers. For more specifics see the below.

Spire Housing: Everyone lives in the main spire but there are some differences in housing accommodations as one reaches adulthood.

For younger students: This is a dormitory style arrangement but made to work in a generally circular architecture. All the rooms/facilities are on the outer portion of the floor with a large circular common area in the middle. One often finds a small collection of plants and meditation aids. Additionally, each floor has its own basic amenities. These floors have at least one adult or older Padawan on rotation.

For fully-grown students and teachers: This is a pod-based arrangement — where pods are self-contained, larger rooms with independent amenities — that is made to work in a generally circular architecture. All the rooms are on the outer portion of the floor with a small circular common area in the middle. One often finds a small collection of plants and meditation aids.

In addition to the spires, there are several landmarks of note. The West Spire connects to an unblemished mountain plateau, which is a great place to meditate and look across the mountain range to the old Jedi Temple — known as the ‘Velastari temple’. If a student were to look up towards the mountain peak they are standing on, they would see an outdoor, mostly-natural set of obstacles leading up to the mountain peak itself. Students have to overcome this challenge in their attempts to reach the vaunted peak. Once reached, they will find a small flat plateau with a breathtaking view of the surrounding mountainside, allowing a clarity of mind seldom found in the busy center of campus below. This ceremonial, outdoor level is a place for crowds to gather — most often for Knighting ceremonies — and contains a ceremonial walkway as well as a small raised rock dais. Lastly, a key landmark is the Grand memorial to New Tython that resides in the center of the campus surrounded by the spires, where any student can easily view and reflect on its story.

==Design of School==
The theme of this school is “one with nature, one with the Force”. As such, the school creators created a place that did as little damage as possible to the already existing ecosystem. In addition, any fresh construction was created to blend in with the surrounding environment rather than stick out. It has two key architecture influences: Tythonian and Sephi. New construction follows the former and uses a simple, modern construction.

Existing infrastructure is made out of Sephi construction. This old Sephi base serves as the infrastructure for much of the school and is built to flow with and around the contour of the mountain peak. As a result, the only pieces of the campus that stick out are the main buildings themselves, since they were created by the Sephi as an old military base. Regardless, the Sephi did try to hide their base by constructing it in unison with the mountain itself. As a result, it is clearly visible from some angles and hidden from others.

The [[starwars:Jedi Code|Jedi Code]] is at the heart of everything the school teaches. As such, it follows the Praxeum’s students no matter where they go, always ready to lend a helping hand.

Odan-Urr’s interpretation of the Jedi Code: Jedi of old followed the well-known version of the code that prohibited Emotion, Ignorance, Passion, Chaos, and even denied Death. Odan-Urr has chosen to follow an alternate version as set forth by [[starwars:Depa Billaba|Depa Billaba]]. We do not deny any of these potentially dangerous facts of life but rather address them by exercising self-control over our own actions. These potential faults are acknowledged for what they are and our Jedi learn to deal with each of them so that they will not control their destiny.

===Youngling training===

The Younglings of the Jedi Praxeum vary in species, age, maturity, and many other traits. They begin their initial training by being separated in rough groups determined by these factors. Adults are usually grouped with adults, adolescents with adolescents, and children with children. These are not, however, strict rules and sometimes the groups can be mixed.

The basic curriculum for Younglings consists of theoretical studies of the nature of the Force, the ideals of the [[starwars:Jedi Order|Jedi Order]], and [[CS Guide: Lightsaber Forms#Form 0 - Banlanth|lightsaber Form Zero]]. They are taught the Jedi Code, its interpretation, and the way Jedi live off of it. They are taught that selflessness and service to others is the Jedi way of life and that fighting for others is the greater ideal. They are taught the underlying principles of lightsaber combat. In addition, the curriculum for younger students includes general studies, such as writing, math, science, and history. These courses are also offered to older students who would like to participate in these studies. While younger students tend to absorb the information but have a hard time processing it, older students understand it but tend to be abrasive if these ideals clash with their own world view. Thus the intention is to ease Younglings into the Jedi path.

Youngling training prepares you to pass the Initiate trials which require the following:
* Understand the most basic tenets of the Jedi Order
* Demonstrate basic knowledge of lightsaber Form Zero
* Show basic understanding of the Force

===Initiate training===

The Initiates of the Jedi Praxeum are those Younglings, generally between the age range of 10 to 14, who have proven their basic grasp of the theoretical application and ideology of the Force. They have also demonstrated their grasp of the basic form of lightsaber fighting and how the Jedi Order implements it in their missions and everyday lives. Lastly and most importantly, they have shown an understanding of the Jedi Order’s most basic tenets.

At this point in their training, Initiates are taught more in depth control over the Force and are taught all the basic [[CS Guide: Lightsaber Forms|Forms of lightsaber combat]]. They are also taught more detailed versions of the history and theology of the Force. In addition to being offered core general studies, students may choose to take elective courses per their interests. Older students may opt-in for these classes as well. This is also where the Initiates are tasked with obtaining an [[Armory Lightsaber|Armory lightsaber]]. These lightsabers come from various sources. These are often mass produced versions that allow the Initiate to experiment with different builds of lightsabers with varying grips and lengths as well as weights.

In order to acquire an Armory Saber, each Initiate is sufficiently challenged in a way that requires the student to face themselves. In the process they learn more about themselves, often a specific lesson in things like courage, hope, patience, trust, confidence, and selflessness. The intention of this is to address a character flaw as well as expand on their training and knowledge they received as a Youngling. This portion of the training also allows the Initiate to answer any lingering theological or practical questions about the Force before being assigned to a Jedi master.

Initiate training prepares you to pass the Padawan trials which require the following:
* A test of the wholeness of body and mind
* Demonstrate basic knowledge of saber combat in their preferred Form
* Show advanced understanding of the Force
* Demonstrate a degree of self-control fitting a Padawan

===Padawan training===

The Padawan of the Jedi Praxeum are Initiates who have successfully completed and shown competency in the fundamental training offered to them while they were Initiates. They are generally between the ages of 14 and 18. Ages vary depending on the student.

This is where they are taken as apprentices or Padawan learners under a mentor. The goal is to give them real life applications and instruction on how to adapt their studies as an Initiate to the hands-on work of a Jedi Knight. This is also where their mentor begins teaching them the necessary skills to pass their trials by teaching them more in depth, as well as the theological significance of each trial. The intention of this is to prepare a Padawan to move on to Knighthood utilizing real world application of the Jedi Code and the education the Padawan has received up to this point.

Padawan training prepares you to pass the trials of Knighthood which require the following:
* A rigorous test of the wholeness of body and mind
* A completion of the Trials of Knighthood
* Demonstrate advanced knowledge of saber combat in their preferred Form
* Show advanced understanding of the Force and its application
* Build their first lightsaber

===Knight training===

The Knights training that is offered post-Knighthood and Knight trials is to expand on the Jedi’s abilities in both the Force and in leadership roles. The leadership syllabus includes courses that teach a Jedi Knight how to lead military units into combat, how to teach Padawan learners down the line, and how to participate in politics in a neutral fashion in a more detailed way than they learned as Padawans. The expanded courses in the Force are to teach Knights finer use of their abilities and to offer additional one on one time to hone their abilities.

===The way of nature===

The Jedi Praxeum thrives both on inbound supplies from the [[Odanite Expeditionary Force|Odan-Urr Fleet]] and local merchants, but also, very intentionally, on the locally grown and reared flora and fauna. All students, regardless of rank or stature, including the Masters, have a mandatory training regimen that includes seeding crops, harvesting, domesticating and rearing livestock all for the purpose of preparing their daily meal. Droids are used for most of the labor, though Jedi Younglings and Initiates are given specific tasks to assist in daily chores as their teachers dictate.

Survival training is also part of the standard curriculum and is conducted in many different areas of the planet, and even on Kaerls later on during the students’ Padawan training. The students are shown the most common ways to orient themselves, the food they can eat, the water they can drink, and other useful survival tools they can use in everyday life, or on a mission.

===Training Exercises===

The Jedi Praxeum supports a variety of exercises meant to assist students in furthering their Jedi education by providing feedback on a student’s abilities to both student and teacher/master. Some of these are rank specific, but many are applicable to all students in some way or form. The difficulty of these general exercises varies based on several factors, some of which include intensity (speed, the number of enemies, etc.) and scale (height, weight, increased duration, etc.). Once a student has demonstrated proficiency in an exercise, they move onto others. A few special examples can be found below, but this is by no means an exhaustive list and common exercises (lightsaber Form practice, Force powers practice, meditation, survival skills, etc.) are not specifically called out as they can be applied to all students and occur almost anywhere.

=====Younglings Training Exercise=====

* I, Jedi: Younglings embark on a unique journey around the campus itself. Accompanied by their teachers, students explore the main campus and any important landmarks — such as the Grand memorial to New Tython — learning about the history of the Jedi, their old teachings and how they have improved and learned from past mistakes, as well as the key principles of the Order. Various physical and mental exercises are mixed throughout the event. At the end of this exercise, Younglings will have followed the journey of long-gone Jedi but hopefully begin to understand that an even greater journey is yet to come.

=====Initiate Training Exercise=====

* Watchtower Expedition: Initiates get the honor to take several trips out to the watchtowers — which are a holdover from the old Sephi bases — and often conduct a number of experiments and exercises. These can include but are not limited to search and rescue, scientific studies, meditation, or simple guard duty.

=====Padawan Training Exercise=====

* Reach the Summit: Eventually each Padawan undertakes the ascension of the summit attached to the West Spire. While younger students are safely transported to the mountain plateau, Padawans train to overcome the mountain itself. An outdoor, natural set of obstacles augmented with some man-made additions — including hand holds, man-made overhangs, and ropes to name a few — give students an opportunity to test their mental fortitude and physical prowess. This exercise lasts as long as a Padawan needs and it prepares them for their final climb when they must ascend the summit to attend their Knighting ceremony. Those Padawans able to reach the summit are then encouraged to meditate in the serenity of the mountain plateau. Many students often celebrate the feat by marking their name in a [[starwars:Data holocron|datacron]] purposefully left behind by instructors who have also made the climb.

=====General Exercises=====

* Visit Velastari temple: Students of all levels visit the “Velastari temple”, an old Sephi Jedi Temple that Odanites cherish as a link to their Jedi heritage. Students can see it off in the distance, north of the Jedi Praxeum grounds. Usually, Masters take students on excursions to the temple, but as they advance more and more, students themselves must undertake the journey alone. This exercise is important because all students must learn to live off the land and find their own inner strength. The “simple way of life” teaches them humility and helps them understand what it is to survive on your own labor, a trait some students lack. This exercise tests a variety of physical skills in order to safely cross from one summit of the mountain to the next. In addition, they also test the student’s ability to execute crucial skills in self-sufficiency and survival. Once they have reached the old Jedi Temple, the next challenge is from within and is unique to each and every student. The temple is explored under the supervision of a teacher or master.

* The Obstacle Course: Students of all ages, though usually younger, attempt to conquer the Obstacle Course — which many consider an easier version of Reach the Summit — held in the East Spire. This requires the student to apply what they have learned to demonstrate control over their bodies in an environment that requires ingenuity. One can conquer the Obstacle Course in many ways. Some examples include simply reaching the top or competing with another in a contest of agility, but the uses of this Obstacle Course are limitless.

==Trials (Youngling, Initiate, Padawan, Knight)==

===Trial of the Youngling===
Usually performed by a prominent Jedi Council member, this test consists of simple pantomime or a guessing game where the student is asked puzzling questions they would be pressed to find an answer to without the aid of the Force. It is used to test Force sensitivity and gauge a student's potential before introducing them to further study. If passed, the student is accepted into the Jedi Praxeum as a Youngling.

===Trials of the Initiate===
Initiate trials consist of testing the Youngling's knowledge of the most basic tenets of the Jedi Order, their basic knowledge of lightsaber Form Zero, and their basic understanding of the Force. Many students fail these trials because they can be demanding on younger minds. Teenagers and adults generally find them difficult in other ways, as they must adjust their world view and adapt to new discoveries. A student needs to be mentally and physically prepared to face the challenges of a Jedi’s life as these challenges only increase with time. While still conducted within the safety of the Praxeum, these trials have known to lead students and teachers into the wilderness for more advanced tests.

===Trials of the Padawan===
The Padawan trials are the second-to-last step to becoming a Jedi Knight. As such they are conceived as a test of the wholeness of body and mind that will prepare the Initiates for a very cruel and unforgiving galaxy. They include saber combat in their preferred Form, advanced knowledge of the Force, and a degree of self-control fitting a Padawan. Upon finishing these trials, the newly-minted Padawans are usually approached by Masters who train them further in the Jedi arts, usually outside of the Praxeum and in the practicality of the real world.

===Trials of Knighthood===
The Knighthood trials are the most pivotal tests for a Jedi. They are often deemed dangerous and deadly, and many students die without accomplishing them fully. They consist of several trials: skill, courage, spirit, flesh, and insight. Each of these trials tests the Padawan's mind and body to their limit, often even taking pieces of them permanently. The Knighthood trials are conducted under supervision from a Master and may last anywhere from several months to several decades, depending on the Padawan in question. Upon completing what the Master deems the final trial, the Padawan is taken to the Kyber cave on Kiast’s ice moon, Kaerls, where they are united with their [[starwars:Kyber crystal|kyber crystal]], and where they painstakingly build their first true lightsaber. Upon completion, the Padawan is presented to the Council where the eldest Jedi member grants them the title of Knight. Family is allowed to attend.

====Kyber cave====

The Kyber cave is a natural formation of kyber crystals located deep underneath the western foot of the Godaark mountain range on Kiast's ice moon, [[Kaerls]]. The cave itself is hollowed out from a natural volcanic lava tube from a dormant volcano forming one of the peaks in the Godaark range.

Its entrance is two hundred feet wide and tall, eroded from centuries of glacial activity and snowmelt from the mountains, making it an imposing sight on the mountainside. The massive entrance is home to Stroilk packs during the summer mating season, where the predatory canines find a safe haven for their pups.

The interior of the cave is much narrower and forms a solid, fifty-foot wide lava tube fairly quickly within, moving in several directions and branching into the mountain’s depths. The crystal cave itself is actually a massive geode, opened some time within the last millennium by tectonic activity, filled with colonies of kyber crystals. Crystals of diminutive and colossal size share the same space within, forming a breathtaking visual for any visitors.

While its beauty is enchanting, the geode and the interior of the cave holds dangers in the form of tectonic collapses that block off or create new passages, and multi-legged beasts called Qrelt that burrow completely new, smaller tunnels through the mountain, destabilizing the caverns even more.

===School Organization & Ranks===

There are no formal social ranks beside teacher and student, but skill ranks are assigned to track a student’s progress. These ranks define the student’s position in the Praxeum’s training program and they mostly run independently of the Clan’s rank structure. The skill ranks comprise of Youngling, Initiate, Padawan, and Knight. A rough equivalent to the Clan’s rank structure is the following:

Sometimes, the school hosts visiting Jedi, who are treated like teachers and are expected to follow all school rules.

Newly-minted Padawans are available to be paired with a Master — who are at least a Jedi Knight — but this is done at the Master’s discretion. There are no prescribed pairings. Each Master picks their own Student(s), who will be guided to becoming a full Jedi Knight. This choice is often made on commonalities, traits, or anything else they find intriguing. In addition, a big factor in this decision is the performance of the Student during their Padawan Trials. Lastly, let us not forget the Force, which has its own ways of connecting Masters and Students together.

===“Day in the Life” of a student===

The students of the school are kept busy with their classes and training exercises to prepare for their next trial, but there are a few key things to note. First, all students are accompanied by their instructors or masters. This is particularly true once a student obtains the rank of Padawan and acquires a master. Second, parental visits and digital communications are allowed between students and their loved ones. Third, students and teachers live on the same campus in close proximity.

===Dress Code===

The Jedi of the Odan-Urr Praxeum dress in simple, light, and breathable clothing. While there is no established uniform or even a required dress code, the clothes that are made by and for the members of the Praxeum are usually made from what is available in nature around the school itself. Droids are often employed to try, temper, and weave the strands that comprise common Jedi clothing, though some of the needlework is done by the Younglings and Initiates to teach them sewing, train their patience and provide them with survival skills.

The dress robes vary from traditional Jedi clothing in that they eschew the traditional long, wide, deep robe that is commonly associated with Jedi. This is deliberate for two reasons: anonymity and practicality. The Jedi of Odan-Urr have found that head coverings and backpacks for carrying provisions and gear often yield better results in training but also in provisioning rations and food in general. Unlike the old Order, the Jedi Praxeum is supplied rarely and often relies on self-sustained food supplies in the form of livestock or grain fields.

Most Jedi wear comfortable linen or cotton pants, stuffed into worn [[starwars:Synthleather|synth]] or [[starwars:Bantha hide|bantha leather]] boots. Their torsos are usually covered in light shirts with several layers overlapping for added protection against the wind. A utility belt is standard practice and a good thing to have at all times, while their throat and head are very often covered with a simple cloth headdress that can be wrapped around the head to protect from, often violent, wind storms high in the Or’ena mountains. Other gear and gadgets are personal preference, though some carry goggles for eye protection. Many Jedi personalize their clothing further with cloaks, leather accessories, and armor.

Founded in the wake of the destruction of [[New Tython]], Garza is a team developed to reflect the current special operations needs of [[Odan-Urr]] after its transition to an underground resistance against the [[Dark Brotherhood]]. It is currently stationed in [[Sky Breach Base]], a crossroads for the continent's personnel, goods and intellingence. As an elite, unconventional team, Garza includes specialists from a wide variety of disciplines: Jedi, medics, pilots, weapons specialists, and slicers round out the roster.

==History==
Founded in 34 ABY after Odan-Urr settled in the [[Kiast System|Kiast system]], Garza was founded by Commander [[Alethia Archenksova]], the Jedi Vanguard [[Daniel Stephens]], and Major [[Len Iode]] of Joint Task Force Satele Shan. While the [[Disciples of Baas]] were no longer able to operate as effectively in secrecy, [[Ooroo|Strike-Team Ooroo]] was likewise in need of overhaul in the face of the new war against Darth Pravus. The Garza program combines Ooroo's ability to stealthily infiltrate hostile territory with Baas' ability to preserve life in the face of evil.

==Tactics and Operations==

The Pathfinders' roles include, but are not limited to, the following mission profiles.

* '''Personnel Recovery''' - The team drops into battlegrounds to recover downed allies and provide medical support as needed until extraction can be made. They do this both on land and for downed pilots in vacuum via shuttle.

* '''Pathfinders''' - Garza performs stealth and reconnaissance operations to scout enemy forward bases and secure landing zones for friendly units. Garza is frequently the first unit in the area, and sets the stage for a large assault to follow.

* '''Command, and Control''' - Once the team has conducted reconnaissance and established a safe position, Garza directs friendly forces and provides fire control for artillery and ships in orbit to bombard enemy controlled areas in close quarters.

Due to these roles members are lightly armored and utilize stealth whenever possible to surprise the enemy or recover downed allies. They utilize speeders and swoops in their mission, but will utilize larger vehicles if the mission requires.

The Commander of the Watch is responsible for the team as a whole. From an external viewpoint, they manage the team and its activities. In reality, the Watch Commander is one of the first friends you can have. They are the leader which you will have most contact with.

* Active membership of House Satele Shan for at least two weeks

Kaiburr was a [[starwars:Shard|Shard]] [[starwars:male|male personality]] [[starwars:Dark Jedi|Dark Jedi]] who's entire Hive was destroyed, shortly after the Republic discovered his homeworld during last few decades of the [[starwars:Galactic Republic|Galactic Republic's]] existence. Forced to deal with the ever increasing demands of the Mining Corporations, Kaiburr learnt how to navigate the ever shifting quicksands that is the political game - something that would stand him in good stead in his later years. After spending most of a decade trying to stem the onslaught of greedy executives, Kaiburr and a few of his brothers drew the attention of a mysterious Jedi, who, discovering their Force Sensitivity, inducted him into the [[starwars: Jedi Order|Jedi Order]] as an [[starwars: Jedi Initiate|initiate]] in 60 BBY. Under the tutelage of Jedi Master [[starwars:Aqinos|Aqinos]], Kaiburr learnt to access the Force and joined the [[starwars: Iron Knight|Iron Knights]], an offshoot sect that was soon excommunicated for it's founder's heresy.

The betrayal of the Jedi Council left Kaiburr stunned and shaken, and a now darker Kaiburr wandered the galaxy eventually falling under the sway of the charismatic Havoc. Soon, Kaiburr grew ever more militant and fanatical and his long slide to the Dark Side had begun. Turning to terrorism and committing heinous crimes against the galaxy only compounded his fall and the [[starwars:Yuuzhan Vong|Yuuzhan Vong]] invasion was the final catalyst. Horrified by his actions during the war the Jedi Order hunted him down, eventually cornering and defeating him once and for all. But this was all a ruse, Kaiburr had found a Holocron detailing a long string of numbers and one name - Antei. Making the blind jump to hyperspace, Kaiburr knew that whatever was out there was bound to be better then the Jedi.

The Shards starcraft was intercepted and brought in by members of the Dajjoran Defense Force, and brought in for questioning. Surprised to find only a broken down and heavily damaged droid, the soldiers turned him over to their Arconan overlords and within a few days Kaiburr was shipped to the Shadow Academy to begin his training. Arriving at the Academy with some knowledge of the Force already made Kaiburr a target of the other trainee's, and his further alien nature soon made him a loner and social pariah among his peers. Rising through the ranks fast, Kaiburr graduated the Academy and joined Clan [Arcona], passing his trials under the auspices of the Rollmaster of the Clan, Nikola Valtiere. Thrust into the volatile situation on [https://wiki.darkjedibrotherhood.com/view/Tides_of_Change:_an_Arcona-Odan-Urr_Event| New Tython], Kaiburr was struck by the initial failing of Soulfire to succeed with their objective's and came to the conclusion that the way to remedy their failure was by amassing forbidden lore and dark power. After the tumult of the Yuuzhann Vong wars and the cataclysmic destruction that they had wreaked on the New Republic, the New Jedi Order investigated reports of the many atrocities committed by Kaiburr and his organization during the war - all in the name of "peace". The Shard's strategy of "Fight fire with fire" and his almost casual attitude when it came to ordering the deaths of thousands was repulsive and went against the very code that the Jedi lived by. Hunting down Kaiburr and his elusive group was no small feat, and after leading them on a merry chase for nearly three years, his small group was decimated and torn into small independent cells barely clinging on to life. Recognizing the need to disappear Kaiburr lead one last foray into the very heart of the Jedi Temple itself and after a bloody battle in the Jedi Archives managed to find the one thing that he had came for - the location of a safe world that the Jedi couldn't reach.

The only reason that Kaiburr himself managed to survive the brutal fighting was his usage of droid technology, and the secret of his true nature. Thinking him to be a Clawdite fallen Jedi instead of the ex-Iron Knight and Shard that he was, his decapitated body was immediately dismissed in the heat of battle and Kaiburr managed to escape by detaching the small spider droid he had created in the HRD droids stomach cavity. Making his way stealthily into the Jedi Archives he crawled slowly through the vast space and sliced his way into finding a directory that lead to the storage area he wanted. Marveling at the incredible amount of knowledge stored there, and the great Holocron's just lying there for any Jedi to study and learn from he activated the one he sought and searched through the information located there.

Recognizing his true nature and refusing to cooperate with the fallen Jedi, the gatekeeper - though he couldn't deny access to a Force Sensitive - attempted to deny him as much knowledge as he could and led the Shard through a long and convoluted path until he found the object of his search. Although the heavy encryption on the Holocron that he had stolen only permitted him to recognize two things from the Star map he had accessed, it was enough for his purposes - an incoherent string of numbers and formula, and one word - Antei. Stealing through the Jedi Temple in the middle of the night and making his way towards the Hangar bay that housed the Jedi starfighters he stole into a [stealth transport] and fought his way clear of the system, narrowly escaping destruction at the hands of his Jedi pursuers as he punched in the coordinates that he had found in the navicomputer.

They may be sickly, horribly ill, crippled, or just physically weak and puny; in general, people who have reality-bending powers seem to suffer for it in other areas.
Kaiburr is no different. His reckless plunge into Sith Sorcery, delving too deeply into Alchemy and attempting to master the Dark Side has granted Kaiburr great mental power, but at the expense of his soul and body. The intensive mental training, pursuit of forbidden lore and the performance of many a dark ritual in the search for ever increasing power has rendered his host frail, decrepit andhorribly weak despite his use of a droid body.

In his natural state, Kaiburr is a [[starwars:Sentience|sentient]] [[starwars:silicon|silicon]]-based irregularly faceted cylindrical crystal. He is 40 centimeters long and weighs only 5 kilograms. A virulent blood red with a tinge of obsidian at his core, faint pulses of sickly green light can be seen can be seen inside him when thoughts pass through his "brain." Kaiburr's crystalline body has a hardness of 9.0 on the Mohs scale of mineral hardness. Composed of α-alumina (the most stable form of Al2O3) in which a small fraction of the aluminium3+ ions are replaced by chromium3+ ions. Each Cr3+ is surrounded octahedrally by six O2− ions. This crystallographic arrangement strongly affects each Cr3+, resulting in light absorption in the yellow-green region of the spectrum and thus in the red color of the gem. When yellow-green light is absorbed by Cr3+, it is re-emitted as red luminescence. This red emission adds to the red color perceived by the subtraction of green and violet light from white light, and adds luster to the gem's appearance. When the optical arrangement is such that the emission is stimulated by 694-nanometer photons reflecting back and forth between two mirrors, the emission grows strongly in intensity.

Here though, the similarities ended. Seemingly built out of almost any spare droid and/or vehicle parts the droid looks to be falling apart and in a dangerous state of disrepair. As a Shard, Kaiburr has a moral framework that is so utterly alien and foreign to human experience that he can't be pegged as good or evil. Though he may seem to act in terrifyingly random ways, Kaiburr is no anarchist; nor does he strictly follow the law, because human and Shard understanding of 'law' as a concept may not even be equivalent. There is logic behind Kaiburr’s actions, it's just that he operates with an entirely different set of values and premises with which he draws his conclusions.
In addition as a silicon-based species; Shard are neigh immortal and posses a Hive-mind that is inherently alien to most sentient thinking. This perspective makes Kaiburr feel a disconnect with other “organic” sentients who have a faster outlook on time, and because of these differences Kaiburr often struggles with understanding the "organics" around him, and they with him, making him introverted and quiet.

Kaiburr takes his name from the [[starwars:Kaiburr|Kaiburr]] [[starwars:Lightsaber crystal|Lightsaber crystal]]. This was a common practice among Shard Jedi<ref>[[starwars:IronKnight|Iron Knight, opening paragraph]]</ref>. When first introduced to the Brotherhood he named himself after the [[starwars:Kaiburr|Kaiburr]] crystal due to its rich history and powerful abilities. The Kaiburr crystal was an ancient Force relic, initially located on the planet Circarpous V, locally known as Mimban. When in its natural location in the Temple of Pomojema on Mimban, the crystal increased a Force-sensitives power one thousand times over. Among its magnification of abilities were the ability to heal, to further augment a Force-user's connection to the Force, to project Force lightning by those typically unable, and to empower and energize a tired being close in proximity to the crystal.

His predecessor, [[Muz Ashen]], had stripped them of their rights, and pride, making them defiant. They had willfully disobeyed him throughout his reign. Darth Pravus had used the unified power of [[Taldryan]] and Arcona to split the Brotherhood - creating a crack for him to sneak through. Now, he sought to destabilize those bastions of faithful zealots by commissioning the Clan's members to his service: Guardsmen, Inquisitors, Scholars. He would shackle them to his will through servitude to himself. He would split their loyalties, divide their unity, and center himself as the epicenter of the future.To test the vastness of his reach and tighten his stranglehold on the Brotherhood, he would issue orders for the purge<ref name="The Purge" />. It was a defiant move that activated the Inquisitorious; forcing them to move against their own clan mates or face the wrath of a [[Dark Lord of the Sith]].

It was in this instance, as members were slayed across Brotherhood space, that kernels of defiance began to spring forth. In the Dominion of Arcona, on the planet of [[Eldar]], a [[Species#Barabel|Barabel]] named [[Zakath|Zakath Agrona]] would be interrupted from his hunt by members of the Inquisitorious and soldiers of the [[Armed_Forces_of_the_Iron_Throne|Iron Legion]]<ref name"TMR Origins">[https://discourse.darkjedibrotherhood.com/t/talmahera-report-fiction/1324 ''Tal'mahe'Ra Fiction (Fiction)'']</ref>. Flanked by the greater numbers, the enemies would pen him down with persistent blaster fire. The crimson bolts creating a cage around the Barabel before a trio of Inquisitors subdued him. Captured and restrained, he was mercilessly at their will as they began an unknown ritual. Their hands joined, they began a low chant that summoned a dark energy. It slinked across the ground towards the Barabel before it began to wrap itself about his form - as if it was sentient. It was warm to his reptilian skin, but suddenly changed from soothing to painful in a moment. It tore at his exterior, ripping back his scales, as it clawed its way to his inside - his soul - desperately attempting to carve The Force from him.

As the ritual progressed, the members of the Iron Legion began to methodically disappear. Silent, precise, and determined, a young Sith named [[User:Mordamen_Bast/Sandbox|Tamashi Bloodfyre]] wrought death onto them. Alerted by [[Dajorra Defense Force]]s by a deviation in their recorded flight path, he dispatched himself to investigate the discrepancy. With a swath of the Iron Legion dispatched by his blade, he closed in on the three Agents of the Grand Master. With a single, Force-infused slice of his blade, three heads of the Inquisitors fell to the ground. Their voices no longer able to power their ritual, the dark energy faded - leaving the Barabel barely alive.

Despite his grievous wounds, Zakath picked up his [[starwars:BlasTech|BlasTech]] [[starwars: E-11b_blaster_rifle|E-11]] blaster rifle and began to fire indiscriminately as the remainder of the Iron Legion closed in on them. Even with their anti-Force User combat training, the soldiers were a poor match and too outnumbered for the pair of Sith - one fueled by his pain, the other by his determination. It was only after the bloodlust was sated, the bodies of the Iron Legion at his feet, that Zakath truly began to understand the situation before him. Boldly, the Grand Master had acted against the Clans and members of the Brotherhood itself. He was amazed by the power that mere Junior Inquisitors could wield. What other secrets had the Dark Lord given to his Legion of faithful?

===Inception===
[[File:Inquisitor_Raid.jpg|thumb|left|Destruction of a safehouse on Eldar]]As reports began to filter in through the ranks, it became apparent that 'Undesirables'<ref name="The Purge" /> and 'Light Siders'<ref name="Jedi">[[Light Path|''Path of LIght'']]</ref> were not among the Grand Master's favored. Their mere existence had driven Darth Pravus to execute the alien members within the Brotherhood. They had even slain Undesirables on sovereign ground. Other rumors said that students had been slain in the very classrooms of the Shadow Academy. The threat of the Inquisitorious - the Faceless Legion of the Grand Master - created discord within the Clans. Their zealous, fanatic nature tempered by the thought of crossing the Dark Lord and facing his wrath.

Then came the attack on [[New Tython]]. It had been swift and unexpected. The turbolasers of the Super Star Destroyer had ripped the world apart. Massive bolts of blue ion energy and crimson laser blasts scored the planet until it was no longer recognizable. Unable to offer assistance guaranteed by the [[Dajorra-Yhi Concordat]], the members of Clan Arcona took a sudden, second blow to their morale. Before aid could be offered, the Brotherhood holo-network issued strict, prohibitive orders that no assistance could be granted to [[Clan Odan-Urr]]. Loyalists faithful to the [[Serpentine Throne]] - in service to the Iron Throne - whispered that the Grand Master had made a proclamation that he would drag Atyiru through the streets of [[Estle City]], if she attempted to assist her Allies.

In this moment, when hope seemed least likely, Zakath approached the Summit of Clan Arcona. He reminded them that while the Clan's hope was being snuffed like light from a candle - this was the Shadow Clan. And in darkness, their power was infinite. Together, with Tamashi, they outlined a proposal that would be a silent response to the aggressive behavior of the Grand Master. To address their oversight of his expanding reach and infinite power, they would work to oppose the Inquisitorious working against Clan Arcona: seeking out powerful Force techniques, artifacts, and Force Users before they could be used against members of Arcona. After long deliberation between the senior members of the Summit, it was decided a team would be created under the banner of House Galeres - the House of brave warriors - and reporting to the Quaestor of Galeres.

As members of House Galeres, they would have access and ability to command or commandeer any military assets necessary to execute their will. Yet, they would exist outside of the military chain of command as independent members of the House. Such power and command had not been given since the [[Dark Adept]] [[Orv]] had commissioned the his faithful to enact his will as the Black Hand of Galeres. This power, though, would not be entrusted to a single member; it would be an Order of individuals trusted with the task. They would become known as the Tal'mahe'Ra - a group recognized for their secrecy, absolute authority, and paranoia. Their presence both fascinates and intimidates members of Clan Arcona as the groups existence is known, but their work is not. Only the members of the Tal'mahe'Ra and the senior Summit of Arcona know their mission.

===Recruitment===

[[File:Tamashi vs. Zakath.jpg|thumb|right|Tamashi and Zakath]]An Order cannot be created in a single day, nor can it start without members whom are aligned to its cause and purpose. The Shadow Lady, Atyiru Caesura Entar, authorized the formation of the group, but she could not draw individuals to Zakath and Tamashi’s banner. They would need individuals with varying skills to establish the framework of their cause. The one thing, though, that none of them could be short on would be loyalty. Loyalty to the Serpentine Throne.

They shared their secret with their two most loyal friends first: Nath Agrona and Xenna Azara. Not only did their addition double their ranks, but it provided a necessary mean streak to the group dynamic. Nath, an accomplished interrogator, provided a cruel and sadistic skillset to break rogue Force Users and the Grand Master’s Inquisitors. Xenna’s own natural affinity with Mind Trick made her an ideal for infiltration into both places and people’s minds. With the core of their power established, they could freely recruit additional members that would make up the founding eight: a slicer in Celahir Erinos Arconae, a Mandalorian sniper named Rins’zler Sang-Kalinor, a master of disguise known as Riverche, and an errant Knight with unshakable loyalty.

With their initial roster settled, Zakath led the group to Arconae Secundus to secure a forgotten and long unused Arconan training facility. It would not be their final destination en route to establishing their base, but it provided a strong starting point as the group charted the dark-as-night planet and its vast network of caves and tunnels. Deep in the planet’s catacombs, lost in an elaborate labyrinth, they would discover a nexus of Force power – neither Dark nor Light – to establish as the center of their hidden base. The path would only be known to the highest ranks of the Order. The need for secrecy was paramount to safeguard the group against outside threats, protect the Force relics & techniques secured during their raids, and imprison radicals that could endanger their operations.
 
 
 
 
===Covert Operations===

The Iron Legion, under the direction of an Inquisitor, infiltrated the Dajorra System. Their mission was to confirm the presence of both Undesirables and Lightsiders in Arconan space and kill them. Acting on intelligence provided by a traitor within Arcona's midst, they were able to utilize a squad of Iron Legion troopers to neutralize a safe house of Undesirables. With the confirmation that Undesirables, and potentially Jedi, receiving aid within the system, the powerful Chief Inquisitor overseeing the operation, deployed more of his agents to Eldar along with additional support from the Grand Master's Iron Legion. With their mole's veracity confirmed, they pressed for additional information and were rewarded with the coordinates of several other safe houses. Their movements, however, were not unnoticed and the crew of the Nighthawk performed a thorough inspection of the original attack - providing Zakath Agrona confirmation that more Iron Legion soldiers were operating on the planet.

Numerous attacks were executed throughout the Dajorra System against the First Clan. The Inquisitor invasion would have to go unattended while the members of the team were dispatched across the territories of Arcona to hunt the powerful Dark Adept. With their absence on Eldar noted, the Chief Inquisitor would perpetuate a planet-wide attack against numerous safe houses on the planet. In the wake of these attacks, many Undesirables and Force Users were eliminated. The lone exception being a safe house where an Omwati Jedi sacrificed himself so that some of his compatriots could flee into the night. The Jedi's body, however, was not recovered - believed to be taken as evidence to the Iron Throne of Arcona's defiance to the Grand Master's orders. Their attacks on Eldar complete, the Chief Inquisitor was ordered to retreat by a higher authority. The initial probe of Arcona's defenses had revealed much and they could now prepare for an much more ambitious assault on Selen - the capitol world of Clan Arcona - at their leisure.

In the aftermath of Teroch's attack, Zakath had been recalled to The Citadel. With the continued harassment of Arcona from varying menaces over the past year, the Shadow Scion, Uji Tameike, had begun rallying warriors to his side to strike back. Indifferent to Uji's cause, Zakath believed that he could use the opportunity to garner greater favor with the Shadow Lady and secure additional resources for the Order. In his absence, Tamashi Bloodfyre had been elevated to become the active leader of the group until Zakath can return from his crusade at Uji's side. What other secrets had the Dark Lord given to his Legion of faithful?

As reports began to filter in through the ranks, it became apparent that 'Undesirables'<ref name="The Purge" /> and 'Light Siders'<ref name="Jedi">[[Light Path|''Path of LIght'']]</ref> were not among the Grand Master's favored. Their mere existence had driven Darth Pravus to execute the alien members within the Brotherhood. They had even slain Undesirables on sovereign ground. Other rumors said that students had been slain in the very classrooms of the Shadow Academy. The threat of the Inquisitorious - the Faceless Legion of the Grand Master - created discord within the Clans. Their zealous, fanatic nature tempered by the thought of crossing the Dark Lord and facing his wrath.

Then came the attack on [[New Tython]]. It had been swift and unexpected. The turbolasers of the Super Star Destroyer had ripped the world apart. Massive bolts of blue ion energy and crimson laser blasts scored the planet until it was no longer recognizable. Unable to offer assistance guaranteed by the [[Dajorra-Yhi Concordat]], the members of Clan Arcona took a sudden, second blow to their morale. Before aid could be offered, the Brotherhood holo-network issued strict, prohibitive orders that no assistance could be granted to [[Clan Odan-Urr]]. In this moment, when hope seemed least likely, Zakath approached the Summit of Clan Arcona. He reminded them that while the Clan's hope was being snuffed like light from a candle - this was the Shadow Clan. And in darkness, their power was infinite. Together, with Tamashi, they outlined a proposal that would be a silent response to the aggressive behavior of the Grand Master. To address their oversight of his expanding reach and infinite power, they would work to oppose the Inquisitorious working against Clan Arcona: seeking out powerful Force techniques, artifacts, and Force Users before they could be used against members of Arcona. After long deliberation between the senior members of the Summit, it was decided a team would be created under the banner of House Galeres - the House of brave warriors - and reporting to the Quaestor of Galeres.

As members of House Galeres, they would have access and ability to command or commandeer any military assets necessary to execute their will. Yet, they would exist outside of the military chain of command as independent members of the House. Such power and command had not been given since the [[Dark Adept]] [[Orv]] had commissioned the his faithful to enact his will as the Black Hand of Galeres. This power, though, would not be entrusted to a single member; it would be an Order of individuals trusted with the task. They would become known as the Tal'mahe'Ra - a group recognized for their secrecy, absolute authority, and paranoia. Their presence both fascinates and intimidates members of Clan Arcona as the groups existence is known, but their work is not. Only the members of the Tal'mahe'Ra and the senior Summit of Arcona know their mission.

===Recruitment===

The Shadow Lady, Atyiru Caesura Entar, authorized the formation of the group, but she could not draw individuals to Zakath and Tamashi’s banner. They would need individuals with varying skills to establish the framework of their cause. The one thing, though, that none of them could be short on would be loyalty. Loyalty to the Serpentine Throne.

They shared their secret with their two most loyal friends first: Nath Agrona and Xenna Azara. Not only did their addition double their ranks, but it provided a necessary mean streak to the group dynamic. Nath, an accomplished interrogator, provided a cruel and sadistic skillset to break rogue Force Users and the Grand Master’s Inquisitors. Xenna’s own natural affinity with Mind Trick made her an ideal for infiltration into both places and people’s minds. With the core of their power established, they could freely recruit additional members that would make up the founding eight: a slicer in Celahir Erinos Arconae, a Mandalorian sniper named Rins’zler Sang-Kalinor, a master of disguise known as Riverche, and an errant Knight with unshakable loyalty.

With their initial roster settled, Zakath led the group to Arconae Secundus to secure a forgotten and long unused Arconan training facility. It would not be their final destination en route to establishing their base, but it provided a strong starting point as the group charted the dark-as-night planet and its vast network of caves and tunnels. Deep in the planet’s catacombs, lost in an elaborate labyrinth, they would discover a nexus of Force power – neither Dark nor Light – to establish as the center of their hidden base. The path would only be known to the highest ranks of the Order. The need for secrecy was paramount to safeguard the group against outside threats, protect the Force relics & techniques secured during their raids, and imprison radicals that could endanger their operations.
 
 
 
 
===Covert Operations===

The Iron Legion, under the direction of an Inquisitor, infiltrated the Dajorra System. Their mission was to confirm the presence of both Undesirables and Lightsiders in Arconan space and kill them. Acting on intelligence provided by a traitor within Arcona's midst, they were able to utilize a squad of Iron Legion troopers to neutralize a safe house of Undesirables. With the confirmation that Undesirables, and potentially Jedi, receiving aid within the system, the powerful Chief Inquisitor overseeing the operation, deployed more of his agents to Eldar along with additional support from the Grand Master's Iron Legion. With their mole's veracity confirmed, they pressed for additional information and were rewarded with the coordinates of several other safe houses. Their movements, however, were not unnoticed and the crew of the Nighthawk performed a thorough inspection of the original attack - providing Zakath Agrona confirmation that more Iron Legion soldiers were operating on the planet.

The Inquisitor invasion would have to go unattended while the members of the team were dispatched across the territories of Arcona to hunt the powerful Dark Adept. With their absence on Eldar noted, the Chief Inquisitor would perpetuate a planet-wide attack against numerous safe houses on the planet. In the wake of these attacks, many Undesirables and Force Users were eliminated. The lone exception being a safe house where an Omwati Jedi sacrificed himself so that some of his compatriots could flee into the night. The Jedi's body, however, was not recovered - believed to be taken as evidence to the Iron Throne of Arcona's defiance to the Grand Master's orders. Their attacks on Eldar complete, the Chief Inquisitor was ordered to retreat by a higher authority. The initial probe of Arcona's defenses had revealed much and they could now prepare for an much more ambitious assault on Selen - the capitol world of Clan Arcona - at their leisure.

In the aftermath of Teroch's attack, Zakath had been recalled to The Citadel. With the continued harassment of Arcona from varying menaces over the past year, the Shadow Scion, Uji Tameike, had begun rallying warriors to his side to strike back. Indifferent to Uji's cause, Zakath believed that he could use the opportunity to garner greater favor with the Shadow Lady and secure additional resources for the Order. In his absence, Tamashi Bloodfyre had been elevated to become the active leader of the group until Zakath can return from his crusade at Uji's side. Even with their anti-Force User combat training, the soldiers were a poor match and too outnumbered for the pair of Sith - one fueled by his pain, the other by his determination. It was only after the bloodlust was sated, the bodies of the Iron Legion at his feet, that Zakath truly began to understand the situation before him. Boldly, the Grand Master had acted against the Clans and members of the Brotherhood itself. He was amazed by the power that mere Junior Inquisitors could wield. What other secrets had the Dark Lord given to his Legion of faithful?

===Inception===
As reports began to filter in through the ranks, it became apparent that 'Undesirables'<ref name="The Purge" /> and 'Light Siders'<ref name="Jedi">[[Light Path|''Path of LIght'']]</ref> were not among the Grand Master's favored. Their mere existence had driven Darth Pravus to execute the alien members within the Brotherhood. They had even slain Undesirables on sovereign ground. Other rumors said that students had been slain in the very classrooms of the Shadow Academy. The threat of the Inquisitorious - the Faceless Legion of the Grand Master - created discord within the Clans. Their zealous, fanatic nature tempered by the thought of crossing the Dark Lord and facing his wrath.

Then came the attack on [[New Tython]]. It had been swift and unexpected. The turbolasers of the Super Star Destroyer had ripped the world apart. Massive bolts of blue ion energy and crimson laser blasts scored the planet until it was no longer recognizable. Unable to offer assistance guaranteed by the [[Dajorra-Yhi Concordat]], the members of Clan Arcona took a sudden, second blow to their morale. Before aid could be offered, the Brotherhood holo-network issued strict, prohibitive orders that no assistance could be granted to [[Clan Odan-Urr]]. Loyalists faithful to the [[Serpentine Throne]] - in service to the Iron Throne - whispered that the Grand Master had made a proclamation that he would drag Atyiru through the streets of [[Estle City]], if she attempted to assist her Allies.

In this moment, when hope seemed least likely, Zakath approached the Summit of Clan Arcona. He reminded them that while the Clan's hope was being snuffed like light from a candle - this was the Shadow Clan. And in darkness, their power was infinite. Together, with Tamashi, they outlined a proposal that would be a silent response to the aggressive behavior of the Grand Master. To address their oversight of his expanding reach and infinite power, they would work to oppose the Inquisitorious working against Clan Arcona: seeking out powerful Force techniques, artifacts, and Force Users before they could be used against members of Arcona. After long deliberation between the senior members of the Summit, it was decided a team would be created under the banner of House Galeres - the House of brave warriors - and reporting to the Quaestor of Galeres.

As members of House Galeres, they would have access and ability to command or commandeer any military assets necessary to execute their will. Yet, they would exist outside of the military chain of command as independent members of the House. Such power and command had not been given since the [[Dark Adept]] [[Orv]] had commissioned the his faithful to enact his will as the Black Hand of Galeres. This power, though, would not be entrusted to a single member; it would be an Order of individuals trusted with the task. They would become known as the Tal'mahe'Ra - a group recognized for their secrecy, absolute authority, and paranoia. Their presence both fascinates and intimidates members of Clan Arcona as the groups existence is known, but their work is not. Only the members of the Tal'mahe'Ra and the senior Summit of Arcona know their mission.

Official headquarters are currently based upon the planet [[Arconae_Secundus | Arconae Secundus]], an almost uninhabited nocturnal planet within the [[Dajorra System]]. The primary use of the planet is to train military personnel, however, under the surface of the planet are a network of interconnected caverns and tunnels that have occurred naturally over time. This is where half of the Tal’mahe’Ra call home. 

This network is an ideal hiding place for the artifacts that have been hoarded by the team, as not a living being knows the full layout of this underground nexus. Once inducted into the Tal’mahe’Ra the member is shown the correct path to follow within the dark underbelly of the planet. Though, in truth, this base has all the amenities of modern living including state of the art technology to aid them in discovering the secrets hidden within the [[Sith]] Artifacts that they uncover. 

On the other hand, the team is a specialised unit and as such requires swift deployment as and when the [[Galeres]] and Arconan [[Summit]] dictate. As such half of the team is currently housed on the [[starwars: Majestic-class_heavy_cruiser|MJHC]] [[MJHC_Lictor|Lictor]] to ensure the swiftest deployment possible. This currently works on a rotation basis unless it is clear that a member’s skill set is more inclined towards research than the actual acquiring of said artifacts.

Though nominally independent of the Arconan military forces, the Tal’mahe’Ra has been given sanction to commandeer the Lictor and its forces whenever a situation requiring heavy firepower is needed. Otherwise, barring the crewmen needed to run their headquarters at peak efficiency, the Tal’mahe’Ra operates with minimal personnel to help preserve secrecy. 

Not being a military organization, they have only been granted light transport craft to facilitate their operations across the galaxy. As such, when operating in the field, the Tal’mahe’Ra must be extremely cautious when planning their movements, as they can ill-afford to attract enemy attention without the intervention of Arconan forces.

Darth Pravus had used the unified power of [[Taldryan]] and Arcona to split the Brotherhood - creating a crack for him to sneak through. Now, he sought to destabilize those bastions of faithful zealots by commissioning the Clan's members to his service: Guardsmen, Inquisitors, Scholars. He would shackle them to his will through servitude to himself. He would split their loyalties, divide their unity, and center himself as the epicenter of the future.To test the vastness of his reach and tighten his stranglehold on the Brotherhood, he would issue orders for the purge<ref name="The Purge" />. It was a defiant move that activated the Inquisitorious; forcing them to move against their own clan mates or face the wrath of a [[Dark Lord of the Sith]].

It was in this instance, as members were slayed across Brotherhood space, that kernels of defiance began to spring forth. It slinked across the ground towards the Barabel before it began to wrap itself about his form - as if it was sentient. It was warm to his reptilian skin, but suddenly changed from soothing to painful in a moment. It tore at his exterior, ripping back his scales, as it clawed its way to his inside - his soul - desperately attempting to carve The Force from him.

As the ritual progressed, the members of the Iron Legion began to methodically disappear. Antos Jeth, also known by his Shaevalian name, Tamashī Bloodfyre (魂血液火災), was an expert Shaevalian swordsman and rōnin. Tamashī, as he was often simply known, became renowned through stories of his excellent swordsmanship, and served as the captain of the third unit of his clan's ''Shinsengumi''. He was one of the few core members who survived the numerous wars of the Sol shogunate purges of the Sephi clans.

Very little is known for certain about Tamashī before 19ABY, when he begins to appear in surviving documents and letters. His Inquisitor dossier starts in 26ABY but in it Tamashī spoke very little about his past. Born the son of Alaric Jeth, a minor warrior-noble in the service of the Matsudaira ''Shinobi'' clan, his father was publicly a retainer of the Sol Shogunate and his mother was the daughter of a priest from Kashima Shrine. He would later earn the nickname Oni no Tamashī (悪魔の魂, Demon Tamashī) because of the fearless tactics he displayed in his fighting.

Though Tamashī was born and raised in Iga, in the Mikawa Province (now Iga-chō, Okazaki, Aichi), he often returned to Iga Province, home of the Jeth family. Antos practiced swordsmanship from the age of nine, starting in the Jikishinkage Ryu tradition. After that he learned Hokushin Ittō-ryū from Inoue Hachirō, who was asked by his father to teach his son. Later his family moved to Iga where he began the Nakanishi-ha Ittō-ryū style of fencing. When he was seventeen, he returned to Shaevalis City and joined the government's Torhan Military Institute and the Yydar School of Spear Fighting under Yamaoka Seizan. From an early age, Tamashī showed dedication and talent in the practice of martial arts. As he grew up, he became well known for two things: his swordsmanship and calligraphy.

According to the kansei chōshū shokafu, a genealogy listing of warriors completed in 30ABY by the Sol Shogunate, Tamashī Bloodfyre gave meritorious services during the Battle of Mikatagahara and became commander of a Matsudaira Shinsengumi Unit consisting of 30 men, during Mikatagahara he captured a Sol spy named Chikuan and when Sol's troops invaded Totomi, Tamashī counter attacked with only 30 men at Tenryu river. During the Sol-Iga War he helped implement the defense of the ''Shinobi'' homeland in Iga province in 31ABY against Evandros Sol and fought a valiant but ultimately a hopeless effort to prevent the Iga province from being eliminated by forces under the personal command of Evandros himself in 33 ABY.

Rather than attempting to fight through the bulky and heavy armor, Tamashī fought with it, utilizing the armor's weight and his powerful body to provide his blows with incredible force, while relying on the main articulation points at the elbows and wrists for precision. With this fighting form, Tamashī regained some of his old agility, and his bladework became brutally effective. He never utilized anything less than a killing blow, and his swordplay demonstrated extraordinary precision, unpredictability, and speed, notwithstanding the two-handed grip he typically favored. Even his most simplistic moves contained enough strength to nearly disarm his opponents. The additional weight and bulk of Tamashī 's armor made engaging in Ataru-esque acrobatics considerably more difficult, and he typically refrained from making use of such maneuvers. Antos Jeth, also known by his Shaevalian name, Tamashī Bloodfyre (魂血液火災), was an expert Shaevalian swordsman and rōnin. Tamashī, as he was often simply known, became renowned through stories of his excellent swordsmanship, and served as the captain of the third unit of his clan's ''Shinsengumi''. He was one of the few core members who survived the numerous wars of the Sol shogunate purges of the Sephi clans.

Very little is known for certain about Tamashī before 19ABY, when he begins to appear in surviving documents and letters. His Inquisitor dossier starts in 26ABY but in it Tamashī spoke very little about his past. Born the son of Alaric Jeth, a minor warrior-noble in the service of the Matsudaira ''Shinobi'' clan, his father was publicly a retainer of the Sol Shogunate and his mother was the daughter of a priest from Kashima Shrine. He would later earn the nickname Oni no Tamashī (悪魔の魂, Demon Tamashī) because of the fearless tactics he displayed in his fighting.

Though Tamashī was born and raised in Iga, in the Mikawa Province (now Iga-chō, Okazaki, Aichi), he often returned to Iga Province, home of the Jeth family. Antos practiced swordsmanship from the age of nine, starting in the Jikishinkage Ryu tradition. After that he learned Hokushin Ittō-ryū from Inoue Hachirō, who was asked by his father to teach his son. Later his family moved to Iga where he began the Nakanishi-ha Ittō-ryū style of fencing. When he was seventeen, he returned to Shaevalis City and joined the government's Torhan Military Institute and the Yydar School of Spear Fighting under Yamaoka Seizan. From an early age, Tamashī showed dedication and talent in the practice of martial arts. As he grew up, he became well known for two things: his swordsmanship and calligraphy.

According to the kansei chōshū shokafu, a genealogy listing of warriors completed in 30ABY by the Sol Shogunate, Tamashī Bloodfyre gave meritorious services during the Battle of Mikatagahara and became commander of a Matsudaira Shinsengumi Unit consisting of 30 men, during Mikatagahara he captured a Sol spy named Chikuan and when Sol's troops invaded Totomi, Tamashī counter attacked with only 30 men at Tenryu river. During the Sol-Iga War he helped implement the defense of the ''Shinobi'' homeland in Iga province in 31ABY against Evandros Sol and fought a valiant but ultimately a hopeless effort to prevent the Iga province from being eliminated by forces under the personal command of Evandros himself in 33 ABY.

Rather than attempting to fight through the bulky and heavy armor, Tamashī fought with it, utilizing the armor's weight and his powerful body to provide his blows with incredible force, while relying on the main articulation points at the elbows and wrists for precision. With this fighting form, Tamashī regained some of his old agility, and his bladework became brutally effective. He never utilized anything less than a killing blow, and his swordplay demonstrated extraordinary precision, unpredictability, and speed, notwithstanding the two-handed grip he typically favored. Even his most simplistic moves contained enough strength to nearly disarm his opponents. The additional weight and bulk of Tamashī 's armor made engaging in Ataru-esque acrobatics considerably more difficult, and he typically refrained from making use of such maneuvers. He was however, still fully capable of performing such acrobatics when pressed.

While he utilized his customized style to great effect, even against multiple opponents, Tamashī occasionally eschewed precision and refinement for strength oriented offensive barrages, however, despite his skill, Tamashī 's method was not perfect. Particularly during situations where he believed himself to be facing an inferior opponent, Tamashī could be taken off-guard or frustrated, causing lapses in his usually staunch defense.

 Made up of iron and leather plates hanging from the front and back of the cuirass protected the lower body and upper leg. Large rectangular plates protected the shoulder and joined with armored glove like sleeves which extended to the shoulder and covered the forearms.

A neck guard made from several layers of curved iron was suspended from the bottom edge of the helmet. Lacquered metal designed in a way that the top heavy helmet could be tied and secured by metal posts along with a throat guard made from several rows of leather plates and chainmail sewn to a cloth backing, was suspended from the bottom edge. House Galeres is one of two active Houses of Clan Arcona. Created by and maintained by a proud tradition of warriors, Galeres acts as the militant arm of the Shadow Lady and Her Scion. Members of this hallowed House are often distinguished combatants - the "heavy hitters" of Clan Arcona. Their focus is not wrapped in the pursuit of arcane power, but instead that which can be acquired by the blade or a blaster.

==History==

In the time of archaic Brotherhood tradition, the Dark Jedi segregated themselves not only into Clans but Orders: ''[[Obelisk]]'', ''[[Krath]]'', and ''[[Sith]]''. At its inception, House Galeres was meant to serve as the barracks for the Obelisk of the Clan. What Galeres now houses is the hearts and minds of Clan [[Arcona|Arcona's]] brightest and most prominent warriors. With a deep tradition, the House has created many a skilled warrior and successful leaders to see Clan Arcona through difficult campaigns.

===The Beginning===

In the days before the [[Exodus]], Galeres was located on the planet of Coronada with the entirety of the Clan. After the Exodus and the discovery of the [[Dajorra System]], a base was quickly established on [[Sukhur]], the harshest of worlds in the system. While the Clan desired a foothold on each planet, the practicality of maintaining a base of operations on a planet of sifting glass seas and blistering heat was soon questioned. In an attempt to secure a new foothold on Dajorra and perpetuate their advance as a House of Arcona, they came upon the world lush planet of [[Eldar]]. Spies from the Clan's now-closed third House--House ''[[Oriens Obscurum]]''--relayed this information back to their Summit. When House Galeres left Sukhur to colonize Eldar, they found the Dark Jedi of Oriens Obscurum waiting for them. According to those archaic traditions, [[Consul]] [[Halcyon Rokir]] declared a House Feud with Eldar as the prize for the winner. After a campaign of fierce fighting, Galeres proved stronger and took the planet as their new home base. The first Galerian base was disguised as a mining operation. It quickly hit pay dirt with the discovery of Garconian spice found by [[Voranyen_d%27Tana-Arconae|Voranyen]] and Gavin d'Tana. After some experimenting on Gavin's behalf, it was found that the spice was extremely potent on Humans and near Human species. Further testing showed it had effects of euphoria and bliss on the [[starwars:Hutt|Hutt]] species. With the Dajorra System located near Hutt space, it became a simple effort of learning to mine and refine the abundant spice.

A great threat formed for House Galeres in the form of a false Jedi Master [[Omancor Crask]]; uniting all of the Clans under the banner of the Brotherhood to fight against the threat. Known to this date as the Ninth Great Jedi War, this war was brutal; members were lost, but allies were gained. Despite the devastating losses, the House established itself as a tour de force for the Shadow Clan in wartime. This was the initial foothold in power for Clan Arcona and House Galeres that would stretch through several prominent Brotherhood conflicts.

===[[Tenth_Great_Jedi_War|The 10th Great Jedi War]]===

Once more a threat arose from the ashes of time - Jedi Master [[Michael Halcyon]] and House [[Odan-Urr]]. The brethren of Galeres once more marched to war in the name of House and Clan. This time ―at the behest of the [[Dark Council]]― they arrived on the doorstep of [[New Tython]] aiding the Brotherhood Fleet. While the legendary [[Void Squadron]] patrolled the space above, the soldiers of Galeres were deployed planet-side. Aiding in the capture of key structures of varying strategic value, the militant minded Dark Jedi of Galeres waged a deadly campaign against the Mandalorian forces they encountered on the battlefield. There were many brutal engagements, but in the end the result was a repeat of their vital performance in the previous Great Jedi War: an Arcona win aided by the loyal members of House Galeres.

===[[Eleventh Great Jedi War|The 11th Great Jedi War]]===

The [[Dark Crusade]] began with the invasion of the [[starwars:Super Star Destroyer|Super Star Destroyer]] Avenger II, where a strike team of elite Dark Jedi were able to bring down the crazed Dark Jedi Master, [[Darth Necar]]. The combined efforts of both Arcona and [[Taldryan]] secured the powerful ship, which required [[Wuntila|Wuntila Arconae]] to tame and mount one of Necar's feared [[starwars:Terentatek|Terentatek]] in order to help bring down the maniacal Lord. With the fall of Darth Necar and the apprehension of the Avenger II, the Dark Crusade to reclaim the lost Sith Worlds truly began... before the final battle at [[starwars:Korriban|Korriban]].

With only Korriban left to conquer, the [[Dark Brotherhood]] fractured into hostilities after [[Lord Marshal]] [[Damon Nix]] uncovered that the then-Grand Master, [[Muz Ashen]], planned to recreate the Rite of Obscuration. [[Jac Cotelin]] would lead the Taldryan forces against the Iron Throne while House Galeres and Arconan forces defended Darth Ashen as he performed the first rite, devastating [[Antei]]. The Brotherhood would be fractured between three sides: Grand Master Muz Ashen, Grand Master Emeritus Jac Cotelin, and Darth [[Esoteric]]. The battles were hollow and duplicitous as the Brotherhood weakened itself in each skirmish.
 
 
Under the banner of Dark Adept [[Baxir Vol]], House Galeres and Arcona would rally in the thickest of the combat to prove victorious-- if any real victory could be claimed. Licking their wounds from an extended Dark Crusade as well as perilous battles on Antei and Korriban, House Galeres retreated to the Dajorra System under the guise of [[SCEPTER]]. Under the paramilitary operation, they would deploy soldiers and Force Users to move in plain sight. These operations would provide the necessary recruitment of operatives, financial gain, and time to nurse a weakened House back to health.

===Perdition and the Fall of SCEPTER===

A House of renowned warriors, Galeres returned to its roots and traditions. As the frontline of Arcona during skirmishes with an alien threat and the One Sith, the House found its stride under the guidance of wise and fair leaders: Celahir Erinos Arconae, Talos Erinos, Sanguinius Tsucyra Entar, Cethgus Entar, Atyiru Caesura Entar, and Uji Tameike. Under the last of these prominent leaders, the House would shift from a 'backroom/underworld' organization to a more 'combat oriented' entity. Returned to its roots, Galeres obscured its presence to the galaxy-at-large through close integration with the paramilitary contractor company known as SCEPTER.

With extensive effort, Galeres used its success in the private sector to fund an expansion of the House's military assets. Soulfire Strike Team would find reformation under the steady leadership of the Erinos family: Nadrin Erinos Arconae, Sashar Erinos Arconae, and Celahir Erinos Arconae. Considerable assets were previously moved to fund a team aboard a highly modified ship known as the Nighthawk during the Eleventh Great Jedi War. Under the careful leadership of an Arconan Legend, Arcia Cortel, the ship would integrate itself in the Dajorra Defense Forces and the Dajorra Intelligence Agency. This would create a bridge between the military contracting world and the DDF that House Galeres is now so closely aligned with.

At the height of his leadership, the One Sith aboard the flagship Perdition would attack Uji Tameike by targeting his SCEPTER forces. Blindsided with fatigue from the Dark Crusade, SCEPTER were unable to stand against the might of the One Sith as they wreaked havoc within the Darjorra System by attacking several key strategic points simultaneously. Only through the conviction and sheer determination of Uji Tameike were the DDF, Soulfire, and Nighthawk able to complete missions that uprooted the threat.

===Fall of Perdition===

With the Captain of the Nighthawk, Kordath Bleu d'Tana, captured, Uji Tameike rallied the remnants of his SCEPTER forces, and with the DDF under his command, began the hunt to destroy the Perdition and the One Sith once and for all. The exploits of the Nighthawk allowed them to cripple the larger ship, creating a unique opportunity to board the vessel and take the fight directly to the Force Adept in command of the enemy forces. It would be here--in a final, decisive battle-- that the upstart would slay his opponent and vault himself to the position of Proconsul, filling the role of Scion to the Shadow Lady Atyiru Caesura Entar.

In a final act of mercy, Uji deactivated the private military contractor SCEPTER. All of the willing and able Loyalists joined the depleted ranks of the DDF and bolstered Arcona's military might to levels that it had not previously seen since the beginning of the Dark Crusade. With a loyal military branch at his back, he was able to turn the page on an underworld organization to a House filled with Dark Jedi, Loyalists, and Mercenaries to support the Serpentine Throne and the Shadow Lady who sat upon it. With this complete integration, Force Users became military officers of the Dajorra Defense Forces with the power to command forces at the bequest of the Consul of Arcona. Loyalists became prominent leaders and advisors within the DDF, AEF, and DIA. Mercenaries became valuable black operations agents to run missions off books or complete the oft difficult missions of the DIA.

This cabal of Force Users now integrate themselves into the Dajorra Defense Force (DDF) and Arcona Expeditionary Force (AEF) as agents of the Serpentine Throne. Their powers are not tied to the Force, but are often regarded just as highly within the ranks of the Clan. Often tasked with missions that do not fit conventional means, the mercenaries of House Galeres work alongside both Loyalists and the Dark Jedi to bring the will of the Shadow Lady and her Scion to fruition. Whether it is their hand-eye coordination, hand-to-hand combat, or divergent minds, the mercenaries provide unique skills that no other member can deliver. The Nighthawk, crew and ship, is in direct service to the Dajorra’s Intelligence Agency (DIA) and as such, the AGV Nighthawk acts as the forward operating base of the Intelligence Agency's Analysis Branch. It is responsible for the maintenance of Arcona’s spy network, informants and intelligence gathering. Reporting to the Director and Deputy of Dajorra’s Intelligence Agency, the Captain of the Nighthawk has developed a reputation for knowing far more than many of the Dark Jedi within the Brotherhood. Needless to say, the Dark Jedi are wary of this development as they are unsure exactly how much she knows--and how much is necessary for her to know. Though the Nighthawk is staffed primarily by those not sensitive to the Force, it boasts an impressive compliment of Galeres-allied Dark Jedi holding various roles throughout the ship. The on-board chain of command holds absolute authority; the crew will show respect for members of the Brotherhood aboard the ship, but they will only take orders from their direct superiors.

Both Houses adhere to a one-Clan mentality and Galeres respects the manner in which House Qel-Droma operates. While Galeres is found embedded into the military structure, their sister house practices a more shadowy, indirect approach to dealings in the criminal underworld and politics within Dajorra and the Brotherhood. When might is not right, Galeres turns to the members of Qel-Droma for a swift response that will not tie the Serpentine Throne to the crime.

With the Nighthawk spearheading the relationship between the House and the DIA, Galeres looks favorably upon the assistance and requests of the DIA’s Director, Timeros Entar Arconae. Often assigned to DIA Agents, House Galeres provides entry and exit on military missions while also providing funding and assets from the DDF for high level surveillance and asset conversion. The DIA holds an unparalleled level of access within the military hierarchy, but Galeres knows that at its head sits an Elder that would never willingly place the House in a situation that compromises its loyalty.

Sworn to protect the Serpentine Throne, they are deeply loyal to the Shadow Lord or Lady and their Scion. This can create animosity between Galeres and other Houses due to the culture of belief that they alone are strong enough to protect the Clan against all threats.

The members are often found rushing from perceived emergency to the next emergency; absent of the calm demeanor and rationale found in Galeres’ sister house – House Qel-Droma. The almost frantic pace causes a continuous rotation of members whom can be found on the front lines; primarily coming from exhaustion due to the frenetic pace in which the House operates.

A tight knit group, the members of House Galeres often have trouble accepting outside assistance or influence. They look to their own for guidance and leadership in absence of a direct order from the sitting Consul of Clan Arcona. This can create a breakdown in communication at times, because multiple individuals may be pulling in opposite directions within the unit.

However, once a decision is made, or decided upon by the members of Arcona’s militant House, they are fully committed. There are no half measures for the Warrior House. Violently and unpredictably, they will throw themselves into combat situations. Even the probability for success is borderline suicidal. House Galeres is one of two active Houses of Clan Arcona. Created by and maintained by a proud tradition of warriors, Galeres acts as the militant arm of the Shadow Lady and Her Scion. Members of this hallowed House are often distinguished combatants - the "heavy hitters" of Clan Arcona. Their focus is not wrapped in the pursuit of arcane power, but instead that which can be acquired by the blade or a blaster.

==History==

In the time of archaic Brotherhood tradition, the Dark Jedi segregated themselves not only into Clans but Orders: ''[[Obelisk]]'', ''[[Krath]]'', and ''[[Sith]]''. At its inception, House Galeres was meant to serve as the barracks for the Obelisk of the Clan. What Galeres now houses is the hearts and minds of Clan [[Arcona|Arcona's]] brightest and most prominent warriors. With a deep tradition, the House has created many a skilled warrior and successful leaders to see Clan Arcona through difficult campaigns.

===The Beginning===

In the days before the [[Exodus]], Galeres was located on the planet of Coronada with the entirety of the Clan. After the Exodus and the discovery of the [[Dajorra System]], a base was quickly established on [[Sukhur]], the harshest of worlds in the system. While the Clan desired a foothold on each planet, the practicality of maintaining a base of operations on a planet of sifting glass seas and blistering heat was soon questioned. In an attempt to secure a new foothold on Dajorra and perpetuate their advance as a House of Arcona, they came upon the world lush planet of [[Eldar]]. Spies from the Clan's now-closed third House--House ''[[Oriens Obscurum]]''--relayed this information back to their Summit. When House Galeres left Sukhur to colonize Eldar, they found the Dark Jedi of Oriens Obscurum waiting for them. According to those archaic traditions, [[Consul]] [[Halcyon Rokir]] declared a House [[Feud]] with Eldar as the prize for the winner. After a campaign of fierce fighting, Galeres proved stronger and took the planet as their new home base. The first Galerian base was disguised as a mining operation. It quickly hit pay dirt with the discovery of Garconian spice found by [[Voranyen]] and [[Gavin d'Tana]]. After some experimenting on Gavin's behalf, it was found that the spice was extremely potent on Humans and near Human species. Further testing showed it had effects of euphoria and bliss on the [[starwars:Hutt|Hutt]] species. With the Dajorra System located near Hutt space, it became a simple effort of learning to mine and refine the abundant spice.

A great threat formed for House Galeres in the form of a false Jedi Master [[Omancor Crask]]; uniting all of the Clans under the banner of the Brotherhood to fight against the threat. Known to this date as the Ninth Great Jedi War, this war was brutal; members were lost, but allies were gained. Despite the devastating losses, the House established itself as a tour de force for the Shadow Clan in wartime. This was the initial foothold in power for Clan Arcona and House Galeres that would stretch through several prominent Brotherhood conflicts.

Once more a threat arose from the ashes of time - Jedi Master [[Michael Halcyon]] and House [[Odan-Urr]]. The brethren of Galeres once more marched to war in the name of House and Clan. This time ―at the behest of the [[Dark Council]]― they arrived on the doorstep of [[New Tython]] aiding the Brotherhood Fleet. While the legendary [[Void Squadron]] patrolled the space above, the soldiers of Galeres were deployed planet-side. Aiding in the capture of key structures of varying strategic value, the militant minded Dark Jedi of Galeres waged a deadly campaign against the Mandalorian forces they encountered on the battlefield. There were many brutal engagements, but in the end the result was a repeat of their vital performance in the previous Great Jedi War: an Arcona win aided by the loyal members of House Galeres.

The combined efforts of both Arcona and [[Taldryan]] secured the powerful ship, which required [[Wuntila|Wuntila Arconae]] to tame and mount one of Necar's feared [[starwars:Terentatek|Terentatek]] in order to help bring down the maniacal Lord. With the fall of Darth Necar and the apprehension of the Avenger II, the Dark Crusade to reclaim the lost Sith Worlds truly began... before the final battle at [[starwars:Korriban|Korriban]].

With only Korriban left to conquer, the [[Dark Brotherhood]] fractured into hostilities after [[Lord Marshal]] [[Damon Nix]] uncovered that the then-Grand Master, [[Muz Ashen]], planned to recreate the Rite of Obscuration. [[Jac Cotelin]] would lead the Taldryan forces against the Iron Throne while House Galeres and Arconan forces defended Darth Ashen as he performed the first rite, devastating [[Antei]]. The Brotherhood would be fractured between three sides: Grand Master Muz Ashen, Grand Master Emeritus Jac Cotelin, and Darth [[Esoteric]]. The battles were hollow and duplicitous as the Brotherhood weakened itself in each skirmish.
 
 
Under the banner of Dark Adept [[Baxir Vol]], House Galeres and Arcona would rally in the thickest of the combat to prove victorious-- if any real victory could be claimed. Licking their wounds from an extended Dark Crusade as well as perilous battles on Antei and Korriban, House Galeres retreated to the Dajorra System under the guise of [[SCEPTER]]. Under the paramilitary operation, they would deploy soldiers and Force Users to move in plain sight. These operations would provide the necessary recruitment of operatives, financial gain, and time to nurse a weakened House back to health.

===Perdition and the Fall of SCEPTER===

A House of renowned warriors, Galeres returned to its roots and traditions. As the frontline of Arcona during skirmishes with an alien threat and the One Sith, the House found its stride under the guidance of wise and fair leaders: Celahir Erinos Arconae, Talos Erinos, Sanguinius Tsucyra Entar, Cethgus Entar, Atyiru Caesura Entar, and Uji Tameike. Under the last of these prominent leaders, the House would shift from a 'backroom/underworld' organization to a more 'combat oriented' entity. Returned to its roots, Galeres obscured its presence to the galaxy-at-large through close integration with the paramilitary contractor company known as SCEPTER.

With extensive effort, Galeres used its success in the private sector to fund an expansion of the House's military assets. Soulfire Strike Team would find reformation under the steady leadership of the Erinos family: Nadrin Erinos Arconae, Sashar Erinos Arconae, and Celahir Erinos Arconae. Considerable assets were previously moved to fund a team aboard a highly modified ship known as the Nighthawk during the Eleventh Great Jedi War. Under the careful leadership of an Arconan Legend, Arcia Cortel, the ship would integrate itself in the Dajorra Defense Forces and the Dajorra Intelligence Agency. This would create a bridge between the military contracting world and the DDF that House Galeres is now so closely aligned with.

At the height of his leadership, the One Sith aboard the flagship Perdition would attack Uji Tameike by targeting his SCEPTER forces. Blindsided with fatigue from the Dark Crusade, SCEPTER were unable to stand against the might of the One Sith as they wreaked havoc within the Darjorra System by attacking several key strategic points simultaneously. Only through the conviction and sheer determination of Uji Tameike were the DDF, Soulfire, and Nighthawk able to complete missions that uprooted the threat.

===Fall of Perdition===

With the Captain of the Nighthawk, Kordath Bleu d'Tana, captured, Uji Tameike rallied the remnants of his SCEPTER forces, and with the DDF under his command, began the hunt to destroy the Perdition and the One Sith once and for all. The exploits of the Nighthawk allowed them to cripple the larger ship, creating a unique opportunity to board the vessel and take the fight directly to the Force Adept in command of the enemy forces. It would be here--in a final, decisive battle-- that the upstart would slay his opponent and vault himself to the position of Proconsul, filling the role of Scion to the Shadow Lady Atyiru Caesura Entar.

In a final act of mercy, Uji deactivated the private military contractor SCEPTER. All of the willing and able Loyalists joined the depleted ranks of the DDF and bolstered Arcona's military might to levels that it had not previously seen since the beginning of the Dark Crusade. With a loyal military branch at his back, he was able to turn the page on an underworld organization to a House filled with Dark Jedi, Loyalists, and Mercenaries to support the Serpentine Throne and the Shadow Lady who sat upon it. With this complete integration, Force Users became military officers of the Dajorra Defense Forces with the power to command forces at the bequest of the Consul of Arcona. Loyalists became prominent leaders and advisors within the DDF, AEF, and DIA. Mercenaries became valuable black operations agents to run missions off books or complete the oft difficult missions of the DIA.

Under the careful eye of Consul Emeritus, Wuntila Arconae, House Galeres continues to make progressive strides forward. The Nighthawk, crew and ship, is in direct service to the Dajorra’s Intelligence Agency (DIA) and as such, the AGV Nighthawk acts as the forward operating base of the Intelligence Agency's Analysis Branch. It is responsible for the maintenance of Arcona’s spy network, informants and intelligence gathering. Reporting to the Director and Deputy of Dajorra’s Intelligence Agency, the Captain of the Nighthawk has developed a reputation for knowing far more than many of the Dark Jedi within the Brotherhood. Needless to say, the Dark Jedi are wary of this development as they are unsure exactly how much she knows--and how much is necessary for her to know. Though the Nighthawk is staffed primarily by those not sensitive to the Force, it boasts an impressive compliment of Galeres-allied Dark Jedi holding various roles throughout the ship. The on-board chain of command holds absolute authority; the crew will show respect for members of the Brotherhood aboard the ship, but they will only take orders from their direct superiors.

Both Houses adhere to a one-Clan mentality and Galeres respects the manner in which House Qel-Droma operates. While Galeres is found embedded into the military structure, their sister house practices a more shadowy, indirect approach to dealings in the criminal underworld and politics within Dajorra and the Brotherhood. When might is not right, Galeres turns to the members of Qel-Droma for a swift response that will not tie the Serpentine Throne to the crime.

With the Nighthawk spearheading the relationship between the House and the DIA, Galeres looks favorably upon the assistance and requests of the DIA’s Director, Timeros Entar Arconae. Often assigned to DIA Agents, House Galeres provides entry and exit on military missions while also providing funding and assets from the DDF for high level surveillance and asset conversion. The DIA holds an unparalleled level of access within the military hierarchy, but Galeres knows that at its head sits an Elder that would never willingly place the House in a situation that compromises its loyalty.

With Loyalists indoctrinated into the Clan’s power hierarchy, the relationship between Clan Arcona’s military forces and the House are at an all-time high. While some still harbor fear of the mysticism and unknown power of The Force, the soldiers are often relieved to have a Force User assigned to their detail for missions; knowing their chances for success – and returning home – are much more favorable.

Oppressed for so many generations by the ‘’Brotherhood within a Brotherhood”, House Galeres often perceives anything related to Clan Taldryan as a threat to be neutralized. The warrior house faced off against Taldryan without success during many of the Brotherhood’s largest conflicts. A begrudging respect blossomed from those defeats, but Galeres–and Arcona–relished in their first and subsequent victories over the Elder Clan. Many of the campaign veterans credit Taldryan for giving Arcona a purpose and target to direct its energy towards; without their presence, Arcona might never have risen to the rank of First Clan in a desperate bid to dethrone them.

House Galeres has a natural dislike for anything not directly aligned with the Consul’s vision. To know that a secret–often whispered about–sect of members exist within the Brotherhood that place loyalty to the Iron Throne above all else scares even the most devout of House Galeres. In an effort to protect their allies in Clan Odan-Urr and the Undesirables of the Brotherhood, Galeres has declared the Grand Master’s Inquisitors as persona non grata within their halls.

Sworn to protect the Serpentine Throne, they are deeply loyal to the Shadow Lord or Lady and their Scion. This can create animosity between Galeres and other Houses due to the culture of belief that they alone are strong enough to protect the Clan against all threats.

The members are often found rushing from perceived emergency to the next emergency; absent of the calm demeanor and rationale found in Galeres’ sister house – House Qel-Droma. The almost frantic pace causes a continuous rotation of members whom can be found on the front lines; primarily coming from exhaustion due to the frenetic pace in which the House operates.

====Reactions====
A tight knit group, the members of House Galeres often have trouble accepting outside assistance or influence. They look to their own for guidance and leadership in absence of a direct order from the sitting Consul of Clan Arcona. This can create a breakdown in communication at times, because multiple individuals may be pulling in opposite directions within the unit.

However, once a decision is made, or decided upon by the members of Arcona’s militant House, they are fully committed. There are no half measures for the Warrior House. Violently and unpredictably, they will throw themselves into combat situations. Even the probability for success is borderline suicidal. It is in these ‘all or nothing’ moments when legends of the House arise, where members of the House laugh in the face of the odds and strive for greatness or accept a good death.

By far the largest city in the system, it houses approximately half the planet’s native population and as such presents massive tactical advantage to whoever holds it. Put simply, whoever controls [[Estle City]] controls Dajorra.

=== Points of Interest ===
Originally, Estle city was built onto an island, however during the subsequent alien occupation of the Dajorra system, the island was extensively changed. When Arcona finally reclaimed the system, Estle City and indeed the entire island were dominated by a large mountain intersecting the two. Thus, Estle was rebuilt up the near sheer-cliff face of the mountain, with the Citadel perched atop a plateau at the base of the mountain. Various terraces comprise the city’s innards, each ringed by a massive defensive wall dotted with various turbolaser and missile towers.

The Capac Ring is the lowest and largest terrace, based at ‘ground’ level with industrial complexes and housing for a lot of the factory workers. With Selen having a rich and diverse ecology, a lot of its major exports are from agricultural sources (which are grown, harvested and processed outside of the city limits), however Estle acts as a center of commerce for the entire system and as such the majority of the exported pass through the Capac Ring. A special series of cargo turbolifts run through the interior of the mountainside directly to the Giletta spaceport, now located on the far side of the mountain, away from the city proper.

The Sinchi Ring looms over the ‘unders’ with an expansive selection of artisan workshops and guilds, as well as the city’s commercial and entertainment districts. While primarily ‘civilian’ in its applications, a number of [[Arcona]]’s [[Journeymen]] will venture to the Sinchi ring in search of the perfect parts and crystals when constructing their lightsabers.

The Huascar Ring is the next highest and houses the Estle City University, the [[starwars:Hospital|Hospital]] and the city archives, which were painstakingly preserved all through the occupation. In addition to a complete history of the Arcona, the archives and libraries also contain complete genealogies of the major ruling families in the city.

In actual fact, the ‘Citadel’ is more of a tower and is set back from the lip of the plateau, with a large open area perfect for the various ceremonies undertaken by Arcona and its leader. Forward of this is a long causeway that grants a panoramic view of the surrounding countryside.
On the other side of the Mountain is [[Giletta Spaceport]], now kept far from the city proper. In order to reach the spaceport, one must travel through a massive set of tunnels that bore straight under the mountain (named Doto Peak). The city proper is a no-fly zone, apart from military vessels that would launch and land from the Citadel.
