=History =
===Early Life===
Born to Renna and Darin Kiriyu, Marcus was by all means an average boy in an average Panathan family with no real wealth or power to his name. Leading a sheltered life, away from the cruelties on the streets of Panatha, his parents thought that he'd become a great warrior. They were wrong. Throughout his childhood Marcus was bullied and used as a punching bag for the older children, frequently coming home with dried blood on his face and clothes. He grew up with hatred in his heart for those who abused him and those who flaunted their physical power.

At the age of 9, something changed but it didn't appear to be Marcus. His bullies left him alone and his peers seemed afraid of him. His parents noticed, but figured he'd fought back causing the bullies to stop. When he turned 10, his parents found out; Marcus was gifted with the Force and he'd been using his latent power unknowingly to imprint his will upon others. A mind trick. As a result his parents sent him to the nearby Temple, where it's Dark Priests tutored him.

===Adolescence===
When Marcus turned 13, he was sent to [[Antei]], to be trained by [[Dark Jedi Brotherhood]]. He was taken in and, because of his latent abilities with the mind, given to the [[Krath|Krath Order]]. Here he studied the mind and the Force's influence on it, alongside many other esoteric powers.

=== Adulthood ===
As Marcus came of age, he was promoted and assigned to Clan [[Naga Sadow]] under House [[Marka Ragnos]]. Here he was tought by [[Shikyo Keibatsu]] but on reaching the rank of Protector, Marcus left to wander the edges of known space. Hitching rides, stowing away and sometimes stealing a ship, he made his way through several systems and planets. Those he crossed came after him, but Marcus had become skilled in tracking himself, evading them with relative ease.

Marcus rejoined the brotherhood roughly 6 years later and was approached by [[Cethgus Entar|Cethgus]], Proconsul to [[Naga Sadow]], who asked him if he would finish his training. Agreeing to finish his education, he was again taken in by the Zabrak's clan but was placed in House [[Shar Dakhan]]. [[Inarya]] was assigned as his master and under her guidance Marcus flourished. He gained promotion after promotion and even helped track down and recruit hopefuls to the academy, strengthening his clan. Many of these new recruits eventually became his friends later in life.

==Before The Inquisition==
===Beginnings===
Originally entering the Brotherhood as an eager student, Marcus was assigned to the Krath Order. Here he quickly advanced through the ranks and completed various studies. Excelling in several Force techniques as well as small-team tactics, Marcus was quickly fasttracked into Devil’s Shroud, a Battleteam then under the command of [[Atra Ventus]].

===What Lies Beneath===
During the events of ‘What Lies Beneath’, most of the team lost contact with the rest of the Clan and a rescue mission was planned. Marcus, having not yet transferred to the team’s staging location, was directed to assist in the rescue. Once on the ground, Marcus and his team moved out and began searching for traces of the lost battleteam, eventually finding that they had been ambushed by strange robotic creatures that dwelled below the surface of [[Aeotheran]]. Together with his team, and reinforced by the members of both the Summit and [[Marka Ragnos]], they were able to drive back the invading force and restore peace to the planet.

After Aeotheran, Marcus was quickly promoted to Battleteam Leader in place of Atra Ventus, who had agreed to serve as Rollmaster for the Clan. Together with [[Daedric Turelles]] he devised a plan to relocate Devil’s Shroud from the floating city of [[San Korinar]] to the lush jungles of Aeotheran, creating a new settlement called Mymidon. However, before he could see this project to completion, an opportunity presented itself, one that he had to take. Leaving the team and Mymidon in the capable hands of [[Bentre Stahoes]], Marcus transferred into the position of Rollmaster.

===Awakenings===

Several months after the events of ‘What Lies Beneath’, Marcus began receiving visions through the Force. Initially plaguing him, he was shown a future where he stood in front of the Clan, amongst his peers looking up at him. In this future, he had wrested control of the Clan from [[Locke Sonjie]] and stood victorious before the Summit and Sons of Sadow.

Acting on his visions, Marcus incited rebellion among the Sadowans, causing several Journeymen, as well as several Elders to follow him against both Locke and Darth Vexatus. The initial fights seemed easy; as Locke and Vexatus focused on getting the crystals needed for the ritual, Marcus’ followers focused on stealing the crystals from their finders. Ultimately many of his allies betrayed him and tried to end the conflict, but the ritual had already been started. Marcus and [[Bentre Stahoes]] raced to the ritual site where Marcus took the shard that Bentre had collected and threw himself into the Force energies that had been evoked by the ritual.

The next thing Marcus remembered was waking up in the brig of the [[VAC Turmoil]], his body covered in dark scars where the energies from the ritual had hit him. Marcus claimed to want to want to see Locke, and soon the Proconsul, Cethgus, came to bring him before the Consul. Receiving a pardon from his actions, Marcus was begrudgingly released by the clan’s second-in-command and returned to his base of operations, the Absolution. Here he returned to his own reflections and studies, focusing his efforts on the new cadre of Journeymen that had come to Naga Sadow.

===The Inquisition===

Near the end of Awakenings, the Grand Master of the Dark Jedi Brotherhood unleashed the Inquisition upon the unsuspecting Clans. Labeling many aliens as undesirable and declaring the old Orders to be void, the Inquisition descended upon the leaders of the Krath and the Obelisk, as well as thousands of alien students, rooting them out or wiping them from the map. Many near-humans and half bloods made it through that day and now hide in the ranks of the Inquisition.

Marcus was no different. As soon as news reached him about the goings on he shed his Krath affiliation and pledged his loyalties to the Inquisition forces. There, he hid from their scrutiny and helped several undesirables escape their clutches. Naturally he also had to perform his duties, as sickening as this was, he performed them with distinction, rising quickly through the ranks until he reached apprentice Inquisitor.

===Professor Duties and Requirements===
* Minimum rank of JM3
* Before applying for the position of Professor, all courses of the intended department must have been passed with a minimum score of 85%.
* Grade all exams falling under the purview of your position within 24 hours or less. Repeated failure to adhere to this requirement will lead to your removal as Professor. Certain Departments and/or exams are exempt from this.
* Maintain and update courses and exams as new information becomes available, or as bug reports are submitted to the SA staff.
* Must adequately participate in the 3-monthly audit process, where all courses under the purview of the Professor will be audited for old information, spelling, and grammar.
* You are responsible for any Docents under your department. This includes their responsibilities and actions.

==History==

The story of [[House Marka Ragnos]] begins some 5,300 years before the Battle of Yavin, when the [[Dark Lord of the Sith]], [[starwars:Marka Ragnos|Marka Ragnos]] himself, began his reign over the Sith Empire. Under his rule a Golden Age was ushered in. Ragnos ruled with unparalleled success for 300 years. During his final years, he established a cult like society of warriors, scholars and other figures who swore an oath of loyalty to him.

Even after Marka Ragnos was succeeded by Lord Naga Sadow, this cult remained loyal to him and left Korriban, wandering across the galaxy with no destination in mind. In their travels, this cult came across the planet Karana III and settled there. They began calling themselves the ''[[Disciples of Ragnos]]'' and continued to worship their master and practice his dark doctrine. However, the Disciples were eventually driven away from Karana, and they settled on the planet Loki in the [[Phare system]].

It was not long before [[Tron|Astronicus Sadow]], the last surviving descendant of Lord Naga Sadow, came to Phare and asked the Disciples to join him under the flag of House Naga Sadow. The numbers of House Naga Sadow grew and it slowly became one of the most powerful houses within the [[Dark Brotherhood]]. In 17 ABY it became [[Clan Naga Sadow]] and the Disciples of Ragnos were reformed into House Marka Ragnos. The [[starwars:Epistle of Marka Ragnos|Epistle of Marka Ragnos]] continued to live on within the House, adored in the traditions of old. As the years passed, the House grew and new tradition were made. The Disciples slowly earned respect from within the clan and outside of it.

In [[20 ABY to 29 ABY|28 ABY]], a decade and a half after the unit's ascension to Clan Status, the Dark Council at the behest of the [[Grand Master]] determined that all of the Great Clans of the Brotherhood needed to be reformed into Houses seeing the surviving Houses of Kressh and Ragnos dissolved into House Naga Sadow. However the Disciples survived in the form of [[Battleteam Marka Ragnos]]. It wasn’t long before Naga Sadow once again earned clan status and the Disciples saw the return of their great house.

Named after one of Naga Sadow's [[starwars:Shar_Dakhan|well-known generals]], the house was to work in the same footsteps as that of [[The Regulators]] [[Battleteam]] which served under its jurisdiction. Mirado himself took the reigns as the House's first [[Quaestor]]. The House currently operates under the leadership of [[Darkblade]] in the office of Quaestor with [[Zachary O'Maille|Zachary]] serving as his Aedile.

== History ==
=== Formation ===
The founding of House Shar Dakhan was a quick affair. Upon taking command, Mirado immediately placed a series of requisitions through to the [[Dlarit Corporation]], with a series of poorly written but inspired proposals. Because of his planning, Mirado was able to give his plans the start they needed to be realized. He took the funding and financing assets available to him and using methods learned during his time in organized crime, used the profits to transform Orian from a barely livable system into a subtly thriving system.

The House began by taking advantage of several unexplored opportunities on [[Aeotheran]]. The new city of [[Kel Rasha]] was established, and construction began on the resort island chain of [[the Gilded Archipelago]]. Both projects were designed to bring business to Aeotheran and to build up a treasury for the Dlarit Corporation with the aim of expanding Dakhani influence on the world. The House Summit chose to focused on developing corporate assets to ensure a steady source of income to last for years to come.

=== Dark Crusade ===
Following the [[Tenth Great Jedi War]], the House experienced a shift of priorities. While a focus on the affairs of business were not abandoned, the development of Dakhani military became a higher immediate priority. This period of time was when Shar Dakhan began to make a name for itself on the battlefield for Clan Naga Sadow. During the [[Orian Incursion]] and the opening battles of the [[Dark Crusade]], its forces fought hard upon the front lines. This showed clearly to the Clan and the Brotherhood at large that this new House was a force to be reckoned with.

The House experienced another shift in priorities during the [[Dark Crusade]]. An uprising in the [[Orian System]] overthrew the Dlarit government and forced Clan forces underground. Although their public face was dissolved, the Clan continued to work from the shadows to ensure the safety of their most crucial assets. This shift in operations did not force the House's warriors to abandon their service on the battlefields of the Crusade. Instead, many took part in covert operations, adding stealth skills to the arsenal of many warriors.

Eventually the forces of Naga Sadow managed to rise to power again, establishing the [[Orian Assembly]] and taking direct control of the system. Following suit, the House re-established itself back back in the old offices and facilities they previously held in the cities of Aeotheran. The Clan Summit charged the Dakhani leadership with maintaining and developing the area around the gas giant [[Inos]]. Lacking the specific focus of past times, the House utilized its various strengths and employed new strategies to support Clan Naga Sadow, the Orian Assembly, and the areas it is responsible for.

=== The Dark Crusade and a Great Jedi War ===
In the events of [[Fading Light]] and the following [[Eleventh Great Jedi War|Great Jedi War]], House Shar Dakhan continued to dedicate themselves to the preservation of the Brotherhood, attempting to annihilate the One Sith and rival Clans. Despite valiant efforts, House forces failed to gain the upper hand in each battle. During this time, Clan Naga Sadow chose to favor the stronger side, and remained loyal to serving Grand Master [[Muz Ashen]]. Following these events a new age arrived with a notable shift in leadership.

Around this time, [[Malik Sadow]] and [[Macron Goura Sadow]] resigned from their leadership roles. At the same time, [[Shirai Ryu Dupar]] and [[Locke Sonjie]] left their respective roles as Quaestor and Aedile, with Shirai leaving to become another foot soldier in the House. Meanwhile, Locke rose up to begin his second tenure as Consul of the Sith Lord’s Clan. Working together, he and [[Cethgus Entar]], scoured the Brotherhood for new potential leaders. Eventually, [[Galleros Sjl]] of [[Arcona]] and [[Inarya]] took the vacant seats to lead the charge into future conflicts.

=== What Lies Beneath ===
Shortly after the pair took office, a disturbance was detected emanating from an old structure that had sunken into the ocean. Protected by the tides, the tropical islands and white sandy beaches had covered the mossy ruins for centuries. A team was sent to investigate, but failed to report back. Realizing the potential for danger was great, Galleros and Inarya gathered the House's forces together to investigate. While casualties were expected, the threat inside was far stronger than had been anticipated. As teams landed and surveyed the temple, they were ambushed and flanked by hordes of lizard-like [[starwars:Draedan|Draedan]]. As Elder and Journeyman alike rallied together, they forced back the ravenous species and defeated fierce, Force-sensitive leader.

=== Conflicts within the Clan ===
House Shar Dakhan could not remain at peace for any long period of time later getting involved in a later joint operation between Clan Naga Sadow and [[Clan Scholae Palatinae]]. The [[starwars:red_fury_brotherhood|Red Fury Brotherhood]], a band of incredibly wealthy and powerful pirates, boldly attacked both Clans. Looking for personal glory, and vast riches and rewards, the members of these two Clans lead assault forces against the Pirate’s headquarters on a barren moon in a remote star system. Between the Clans, the operation was considered a success. The members of House Shar Dakhan performed well, with Atra Ventus and [[Robert Sadow]] performing with extraordinary distinction.

The House would also serve in the tri-headed conflicts within the [[Dentavii asteroid belt]]. Unfortunately this event split the members of the House into three factions: those loyal to Locke Sonjie, those who believed in the visions of [[Marcus Kiriyu]], and those who believed the words of the returning apostate, [[Darth Vexatus]]. The ascension of Kiriyu was halted, and the Krath captured. Disaster was averted, and according to Locke's orders, pardons were issued to the various rebels.

Several weeks later, a shadow fell upon Sepros, bringing with it an unknown enemy. Teams of CNS military encountered the foreign element, leaving naught but questions in its wake. Droid armies of this mysterious enemy descended upon the planet, and the Sadowans marched to war. With the appearance of a large ship overhead, a team lead by then-Quaestor Atra Ventus besieged the vessel. It was the Snow Dragon himself who would detonate an explosive device designed by Bentre Stahoes to destroy the ship of the droid's commander, designated the Progenitor. The crisis was ended, but Ventus' body was not found, presumably destroyed in the explosion.

==The Modern House==
===Fresh Blood===
Following the departure of [[Keira Viru]] and Inarya from House leadership, the Anzat known as Darkblade and Bentre Stahoes replaced them in their respective positions. With this, the modern age of House Shar Dakhan began. Several changes were made in the day-to-day operations of the House, but the pair had yet to be tested by the fires of adversity. Only time would tell how smoothly the House would perform below their joint leadership.

==Locations and Points of Interest==
=== Aeotheran ===
Located in the [[Orian System]] ,Aeotheran was one of the the three planets in the system that is hospitable. Once the homeworld to the [[Ombi]], this Planet now acts as the personal retreat for the Consul and Proconsul, the Quaestor and Aedile, as well a one of the many sources of income for Clan Naga Sadow and House Shar Dakhan.

A tropical paradise, Aeotheran suffers from a wet and humid environment from the thick jungles that cover the planet’s surface. While entirely habitable, the surrounding jungles make living outside the limits of towns and cities dangerous. The jungles are the home of predators, both native and introduced species brought to Aeotheran by the Ancient [[starwars:Sith|Sith (species) Empire]]

As the planet is made of of six large land masses separated by vast stretches of ocean, the most popular method of transportation is aquatic yacht. As a result nearly every island on the planet’s surface have large marinas; whether these be for the large pleasure yacht of visitors or dignitaries, or the much smaller vessels for more official duties.

=== Kel Rasha ===
Kel Rasha is more a tourist attraction than a military installment, and holds one of the largest port on Aeotheran. While rarely visited for official duties, the marina is lined with luxury pleasure yachts that can sometimes be seen on the shore’s or sea of the planets surface. The structure of the city itself is one of a relaxed luxury, buildings here are no more than two stories high with the larger building towards the small mountain range near the far end of the island.

=== The Gilded Archipelago ===
This is a striking land feature that is made up of 45 islands, although only a small number of those planets are big enough to be inhabited. This string of islands holds the most opulent of hotels, skyscrapers and other such luxuries.

The Gilded Archipelago also houses the unofficial residence of the Quaestor and Aedile, the properties serving as their personal retreat.

=== Pandaemonium ===
This now sprawling hotel and casino complex was once the site of the [[Dystopia]] Nightclub before its destruction in the invasion of the Yuuzhan Vong. It now serves as a front for House Shar Dakhan activities and a steady, and extremely, profitable means of income to the House. While it has its own dedicated port, this island that [[Pandaemonium]] rest on is accessible via a bullet tram from the walled city of [[Seng Karash]].

=== Seng Karash ===
In a dramatic contrast to the laid back and luxurious Kel Rasha, [[Seng Karash]] serves as one of the only major population centres on Aeotheran. It is home to the families of the miners that work in the [[starwars:Cortosis|cortosis]] mines on the outskirts of the city. They are given comfortable and livable housing despite the long hours and harsh conditions. The city has a limited tram system that is mainly used for the transportation of the working back and forth from the mines, however it does have a direct tram to the Pandemonium.

Located in the crater caused by an event that wiped out most of the planet’s population, the city is heavily fortified from the harsh jungles that surround it by thick walls that circle around the perimeters of the city as well as frequent patrols from the cities forces.

=== The Lion’s Tooth ===
Placed proudly on the central hill of the city of Seng Karash is the official seat of House Shar Dakhan, [[The_Lion%27s_Tooth|The Lion’s Tooth]]. Built as the new home for the House’s Military Forces, it was deliberately built with the purpose of intimidation in mind, the huge structure stretches high over the skyline of the rest of the city. Clearly visible from nearly every sector, it serves a show of [[Clan Naga Sadow]] reminding them whose rule they live under.

The Citadel also holds the largest concentration of Shar Dakhan members and ground troops.

=== Inos ===
Dramatically different from Aeotheran, [[Inos]] is a massive gas giant orbited by numerous small, rocky moons. The gas giant’s frigid temperatures and crushing atmosphere make the planet almost impossible to inhabit. The magnetic pulses are known to destroy almost all circuitry leading to little being known about the core due to probes hardly surviving long enough to get useable data.

A hospitable moon in Inos orbit is [[Inos Moon 42]], little is known about this moon other than due to tidal stresses the temperature of the atmosphere is higher than that of Inos. The Elders of the Clan are often reported to visit the moon and explore the tombs held on the crust. House Shar Dakhan has plans to send an expeditionary force to investigate the planet further.

==Government & Politics==

In addition to ruling [[Aeotheran]] through business and an iron hand, House Shar Dakhan is charged with providing for the Clan in other ways. Thus, the Dakhani oversee most of the military operations the Clan may encounter.

The Dakhani's sister House, [[Marka Ragnos]], are an invaluable aid in these efforts. Their control of the media ensures that they can convince the galactic populace that blame falls elsewhere, while their reporter-spies can assist in locating new targets.

The current Quaestor of Shar Dakhan manages affairs from aboard the [[VSDII Covenant]] as opposed to the traditional base located in the Gilded Archipelago. It is from here that the Quaestor authorizes members of the House to pursue their enemies throughout the system and beyond. Following the near total dissolution of the Dlarit mining company, the Dakhani Group immediately snatched up the previous holdings that the former corporation laid claim to.

In contrast, the House's Aedile usually manages most of the day-to-day operations of the House. From the former Dlarit (Now Dakhani) plaza in [[Kel Rasha]], they maintain the House's holdings on [[Aeotheran]] and work closely with the leader of the House's Battle Teams to maintain control over Aeotheran's extensive newer settlements.

As they no longer hide in the shadows as they once did, the Dakhani people know who their masters are now. It is common knowledge that their rulers hail from the heirs of the Sadow legacy. The Quaestor holds the title of the Governor of [[Aeotheran]], and the Aedile the Governor of [[Inos]]. Both the Quaestor and Aedile oversee Orian’s Authority to ensure that no enemy dares to challenge them.

==Economy==

Shar Dakhan also maintains steady revenue from such locations as the Gilded Archipelago that were planned for or established early in the House's rule. This is accomplished through bargains struck in the original construction of the two cities whereby these businesses remained minor subsidies to Dlarit and payed up a percentage of their revenue. This is among the holdings Dakhani snatched up during the hostile takeover of Dlarit. In addition, Shar Dakhan taxes all the mines and businesses on the their earnings each quarter. This allows them to bring in a fair flow of credits, which are then redistributed back into [[Aeotheran]] interests.

==Warhost==

With regards to military, the House has command of a large detachment of forces from the Clan's Warhost. When it comes to open warfare at the Dark Council's orders, House Shar Dakhan's members may use their experience with raiding to target enemy supply convoys and to disrupt the enemy in any way possible. The troops also fight on the front-lines with the House and its sister House, [[Marka Ragnos]].

==Territory==

The primary domain of House Shar Dakhan is the jungle world of [[Aeotheran]]. While the House maintains control over the major cities of [[Seng Karash]] and [[Kel Rasha]], as well as particular locations such as the Gilded Archipelago, there are many parts of the planet that remain untamed. In a way, this benefits the House. These untamed elements provide a constant foil for the House's membership to better their combat skills against. The various factions and settlements also provide the House with targets to raid with impunity - so long as they do not go too far.

Recently a portion of San Korinar now belongs with Dakhani’s Solution after retaking the floating city from the Black Sun and the Dlarit Dissidents.

==Purposes of Battle Teams==

Seeing the need for a dependable group to maintain operations in Aeotheran's newer, untamed frontier settlements, the House Summit has given the Battle Teams the purpose of destroying and eliminating high-risk targets and defusing any situations that put the clan risk. The Battle Team's missions are certainly not limited to [[Aeotheran]], however. They are also often called upon for difficult missions elsewhere in the galaxy, and are considered an elite group the House and Clan Summit can call on for a variety of roles on the surface of planets throughout the galaxy, whether it is as part of an assault or a covert operation.

The team consisted of a mixed unit of pilots and Dark Jedi which acted as a strike force proficient in infiltration. The team trained in many areas of combat to ensure that any needs the House might have can be met by the single team and the sub-units within. ==History ==
===Early Life===
Born to Renna and Darin Kiriyu, Marcus was by all means an average boy in an average Panathan family with no real wealth or power to his name. Leading a sheltered life, away from the cruelties on the streets of Panatha, his parents thought that he'd become a great warrior. They were wrong. Throughout his childhood Marcus was bullied and used as a punching bag for the older children, frequently coming home with dried blood on his and clothes, because of his desire for study and writing. He grew up with hatred in his heart for those who abused him and those who flaunted their physical power.

===Manifestation===
At the age of 9, something changed but it didn't appear to be Marcus. His bullies left him alone and his peers seemed afraid of him. His parents noticed, but figured he'd fought back causing the bullies to stop. When he turned 10, his parents found out; Marcus was gifted with the Force and he'd been using his latent power unknowingly to imprint his will upon others. A mind trick. As a result his parents sent him to the nearby Temple, where it's Dark Priests tutored him.

===Adolescence===
When Marcus turned 13, he was sent to [[Antei]], to be trained by [[Dark Jedi Brotherhood]]. He was taken in and, because of his latent abilities with the mind, given to the [[Krath|Krath Order]]. Here he studied the mind and the Force's influence on it, alongside many other esoteric powers.

=== Adulthood ===
As Marcus came of age, he was promoted and assigned to Clan [[Naga Sadow]] under House [[Marka Ragnos]]. Here he was tought by [[Shikyo Keibatsu]] but on reaching the rank of Protector, Marcus left to wander the edges of known space. Hitching rides, stowing away and sometimes stealing a ship, he made his way through several systems and planets. Those he crossed came after him, but Marcus had become skilled in tracking himself, evading them with relative ease.

Marcus rejoined the brotherhood roughly 6 years later and was approached by [[Cethgus Entar|Cethgus]], Proconsul to [[Naga Sadow]], who asked him if he would finish his training. Agreeing to finish his education, he was again taken in by the Zabrak's clan but was placed in House [[Shar Dakhan]]. [[Inarya]] was assigned as his master and under her guidance Marcus flourished. He gained promotion after promotion and even helped track down and recruit hopefuls to the academy, strengthening his clan. Many of these new recruits eventually became his friends later in life.

== Physical Description ==
Marcus is of average height, approximately 1m80 in length. As an [[starwars:epicanthix|Epicant]], Marcus displays a fair amount of muscle but isn't overly muscular.
Wearing mostly blacks, he prefers to hide his face by way of a hooded black robe. His race's trademark around the eyes is clearly visible.

* Marcus went AWOL after being promoted to Protector, causing him to be labeled rogue. He returned 5 years later to resume his studies.

Marcus is eager and willful but he dislikes militarization and unorganized chaos. Never too down to make a joke or a sarcastic comment. He is very loyal but also very strong willed. When he believes in something, Marcus is capable of doing just about anything to attain that.

== Character History ==
===Pre-DJB===
Marcus grew up on coronet, with his father abusing his mother a lot. He used to hit her whenever he felt she'd deserved it, which was most of the time she spoke.
When she was down, he'd start on Marcus but he usually ran away towards the star port before his father could get his hands on him.

Marcus met a mechanic there, his name was Perictorias but everyone just called him Perry. He found Marcus crying near the cargo containers in the back and cheered him up. He hung around a lot with Perry and was taught about the small freighters that landed on the star port.
A couple of years later when Marcus was about 16, his dad got a job working as a miner for 5 years near Parrel, some remote rock in the Corellia system. It was the best time they had.

[[image:spaceport.jpg|thumb|left|Corellia spaceport]] When Marcus became eighteen, Perry got him a job at the starport as his assistant. Marcus learned the ships inside and out, crawled through the meters of cables and other electronics just to learn about what caused a specific problem on a specific ship.
When off duty, he read. Nothing was safe for Marcus' inquisitive mind and thirst for knowledge. In between datapads he helped out his mom around the house. This went on for three months. Then his father came back.

Marcus' father barged through the door, beating his wife. Marcus stood there at first, just watching, paralyzed. Then the anger came; he grabbed the heavy hydrospanner standing near the doorway and smacked his father at the side of his head. As soon as his father hit the floor Marcus dropped the spanner, there was blood on it. He ran over to his mother but she was already unconscious, by the time the medics arrived she was dead.
They were ablke to save his father but he had too much brain damage so Marcus had him put away, an institution somewhere outside of coronet.

After that Marcus ran with the help of his friend and colleague Perry. He ended up on Malastare where, after two months, he met a strange man in a bar. After telling Marcus that he was special he pointed him towards the shadow academy, the training ground for Dark Jedi. Feeling a darkness in his soul, Marcus set out for the Academy.
