'''Voidbreaker''' is a [[Battle Team]] within [[House Qel-Droma]]. One of [[Clan Arcona|Clan Arcona’s]] most recently organized Battle Teams, Voidbreaker was created to serve primarily as a diplomatic and special operations task force for the Clan. Voidbreaker is currently based out of the Minstrel-class space yacht: the ''[https://www.darkjedibrotherhood.com/items/58976-minstrel-class-space-yacht Voidbreaker II]'', and led by Captain {{VBBTL}}.
== Description ==
[[File:Zig-uniform.png|200px|thumb|"Official" (notice the air quotes) Voidbreaker crew Uniform, even though there is no formal dress code on the ship]]

Battle Team Voidbreaker is a special diplomatic unit under the control of House Qel Droma and used to handle sensitive diplomatic missions for Clan Arcona. To this end, it is staffed with skilled diplomats, negotiators, and manipulators to make sure that Arcona’s interests are protected. By deploying Battle Team Voidbreaker, Arcona has often avoided conflict entirely while still accomplishing their strategic goals.

Unofficially, and behind that veil, the members of the Battle Team - known as ''Voidbreakers'' - are a highly elite special forces group tasked with the bulk of Arcona’s covert and field operations. Alongside the more public negotiator front, Voidbreakers are a menagerie of mercenaries, spies, engineers and Force Users of various discipline. As a team, they have become the premiere unit for Clan Arcona, and have carved out their own niche within the [[Arconan Armed Forces]]. They are always taking on new members and keep a rotating roster of friendly faces so that no one individual can hold back the rest of the team.

The unit is bound to each other and the Clan by their titular ship: the ''Voidbreaker II''.

==== Cargo Storage ====
The Cargo Storage is a large space that is meticulously organized with stacked equipment crates and food stores. Everything has its proper place for ease of locating whatever someone may need when it is required. Inventory manifests are kept up to date and accessible to the ship’s crew by the ship’s ''Logistics Officers''. Powerful mag-locks securely hold crates to ensure nothing is sent out of place during a firefight. It can hold a standard year's worth of food stores.

=== Level 02 - Crew Quarters, Mess, Medbay & Armoury ===
==== Crew Quarters ====
[[File:VoidbreakerII Level02.png|500px|thumb|left|Level 2 of the Voidbreaker II.]]
The general crew of the Voidbreaker II make their home on this level when stationed upon the ship. These quarters tend toward the practical and contain the bare necessities for someone in military service on the vessel. At any given time, there are a minimum of thirty-five servicemen on board, the minimum for the efficient running of the ship without taking into account those Arconans that call the ship a permanent home.

==== The Mess Hall ====
The Voidbreaker II’s Mess Hall is a nice open space made comfortable by lower-level lighting, and well-spaced tables that could easily seat four people with plenty of elbow room. Every seat is comfortable, with the comfort of the ship’s crew in mind. The atmosphere is relaxed; environmental controls are kept at such a level as to be as comfortable for the crew as possible. At the back of the hall is a wide counter where droids are hard at work to produce a varied array of cuisines for the crew members, filling the air with tantalizing scents to tease the senses.

==== Armory ====
The Armoury is quite large. Most notable upon entry are the neat rows of weapons lockers containing various weapons and secured by coded keypads. The front of each locker is numbered to correspond with maintenance checklists. Against the back wall are three sturdy workbenches in varying states of disarray stained with gun oil and grease that does not come clean no matter how often the benches are scrubbed. A final bench holds a console and small stack of datapads used for routine maintenance by the ''Weapons Officers''.

==== Med Bay ====
The Med Bay is kept impeccably clean and stocked at all times. An especially neat and tidy desk sits in one corner with a multi-monitored console linked to high-tech medical tools and gadgets. There are no fewer than four medical beds running perpendicular to the right-hand side of the room—as the members of the crew are known for being a bit reckless when it comes to protecting each other while on a mission Each medical table is its station with consoles to monitor vitals, as well as sterile medical tools. The space is well lit and can handle any number of medical procedures. Opposite the med-beds are a line of four bacta-tanks to expedite the healing of their patients. Checks on medical supplies and equipment are performed regularly by the ship’s ''Medical Officers''.

=== Level 03 - Officer (Battleteam) Quarters ===
This deck is reserved for members of Battleteam Voidbreaker. The decor of each room varies from person to person, setup to the tastes of its occupant. For most of them, this is their home. Each room is the same size and is far more spacious than the crew quarters located on level 02, allowing for a lot more comfort and personalization. Unlike the standard crew, they do not regularly cycle in and out and spend the majority of their time on the Voidbreaker II when not on a mission or leave.
Clothes litter the floor in seemingly random spots throughout the space, only his academy uniform ever getting folded and left neatly on his desk. Techy bits and mechanical parts clutter his coffee table and most of the rest of his desk, and it is a wonder he can ever find anything. A bookshelf beside the small sofa is filled with comic books, some of which are first editions. Straight ahead from his entrance is his small private washroom, to the right is a small living space with sofa, desk and coffee table, and to the left of that is his sleeping space.
=== Level 04 - Recreational ===
[[File:VoidbreakerII Level04.png|400px|thumb|right|Level 04 of the Voidbreaker II.]]
Level 04 of the Voidbreaker II is dedicated to the training and leisure of her crew. It includes the likes of a conservatory, a leisure pool, and a combination gym and training hall. Many of the crew spend their time on this level when they are off duty.

==== Conservatory ====
Upon taking command of the Voidbreaker II, Captain Alex Draconis spared no expense in outfitting the ship's Conservatory so that the crew could have somewhere peaceful to relax surrounded by what nature you can have on a starship. Rare and exotic flowers from across the galaxy have been brought in and arranged on intricate hydroponic trellises. The upper walls and ceiling of the room are outfitted with complex screen systems which are both able to provide an accurate projection of the exterior starscape the Voidbreaker II currently occupies or be toggled to present an artificial daylight environment configurable to mimic most common habitable planet conditions. A small recirculating pond rests in the center of the area, stocked with a variety of colorful filter-feeder fish to both keep the water healthy as well as provide a pleasing visual display for those utilizing the room's amenities.

==== Leisure Pool ====
A rectangular, full-sized swimming pool stretches out from durasteel hull plating separating the machinery used to power it and the reservoir of water used to keep it filled. A gradual, diagonal slop in the floor transitions from a 3ft deep "shallow end" to a proper 10ft "deep end". Just enough to dive or jump in without hitting your head. Unless you're Sage or Jax, that is, in which case caution is advised. The tile plating surrounding the pool itself is sanded down and matted to allow for decent footing/grip, with rivets carved in to help route excess water towards the appropriate drains. At the head of the pool is a circular hot tub that can fit a small group of crew members shoulder to shoulder. [[File:POOLDECK.png|thumb|350px|left|

The pool deck, open, outside of combat operations.]]Since there is no natural sunlight to be found when living mostly aboard a spaceship, the Engineering team was able to outfit daylight-balanced overhead lighting that can simulate and give off faint heat, but not enough to give a true "tan". The lights can also switch to a "sunset" and "twilight" preset that simulates the respective times of a typical planetary cycle.

Since this pool deck was built with direct input from the ships Engineering team, structurally, the infrastructure is very sound. Thanks to this, Zig was able to, with some help from Avery, install and calibrate custom filters that help account for fur getting clogged in the piping. Among other amenities, the indoor pool, therefore, reflects on requests from the crew themselves, making it a popular spot for relaxation between missions.

Off the changing room are the sauna and steam rooms, as well as a shower. The sauna has two sides to it, the primary one, made of organic wood, maintains a dry heat while the adjacent section is the steam room which helps open pores and detox. There are sensors to detect if an occupant's biometrics drop to a certain level after Aru Law passed out while "recovering" one too many times and almost died.

==== Training Hall ====
The training hall of the Voidbreaker II is not lacking in options. Directly to the right of the entrance is the lap pool at 22.86m (25 yards) in length. It is wide enough to accommodate four swimmers in parallel, comfortably. To the left of the entrance is the dojo. A large mat makes up the floor with a multitude of weapons against two of the walls. These weapons have been modified with forcefields that protect combatants from otherwise dangerous blades. Past the dojo is a cavalcade of gym equipment.

At the far end of the open training hall are the lockers and showers that are also attached to the leisure pool area.

=== Level 05 - Suites ===
[[File:VoidbreakerII Level05.png|250px|thumb|right|Level 05 of the Voidbreaker II.]]
The quarters on this deck are designated for the use of high-ranking officials, persons of importance, officers the Captain needs to be kept close to, and the Captain's own quarters. Important persons and high-ranking officials include House and Clan summit members, visiting Dark Council members, or anyone else the Captain chooses to warrant the space to.

==== Captain's Quarters - Mune & Caleb's Quarters ====
[[File:Mune & Caleb Quarters.png|200px|thumb|left|Mune & Caleb's Quarters on the Voidbreaker II.]]
Upon entering their quarters, one notices the soft lighting, which appears quite intimate. The floors are warm and dark hardwood, with a moderate-sized area rug in what looked to be a sitting area. Straight ahead can be seen a slopping wall and window; here rests Caleb's workbench and Mune's desk. Beside the workbench is a bed for Tundra, the Togorian's Vulptex companion. A section of the left-hand wall is sturdy, curved shelves laden with tomes, journals, and loose sheaves of paper that are 91.44cm(3') in height to leave the windows exposed to the room. Mune's Force-imbued blade rests on a stand on top of the shelves, in its sheath. The L-style desk is a flat section of dark wood matching the flooring and five legs, so the underside is open. It faces the windows for a view outside the ship and has two widescreen terminals, a datapad (when not buried under papers and books), and a reading lamp. The seating area is centred in the space and comprises a sectional sofa and two matching chairs around a dark wood coffee table. Two standing lamps provide additional light when needed. A small kitchenette and mini fridge are against the wall behind the sofa.

An area is sectioned off from the rest of the room by screens decorated with a magnificent silver cherry blossom tree against a white background. The divider hides a two-person sleeping mat from the rest of the room. The refresher is just off the sleeping area and equipped with the best fur dryer technology Mune could source from their home on Seraph, built directly into the shower unit, not to mention some rather pricey-looking fur brushes. A wardrobe is just outside the refresher.

==== Quaestor's Quarters - TBD ====

==== XO's Quarters - Zig's Quarters ====
[[File:Zig's Quarters.png|thumb|left|Zig's Quarters on the Voidbreaker II.]]
An amalgamation of art projects lines the walls, leaving little in terms of negative space. The once spartan office now features splashes of colorful graffiti, custom “tags”, framed blueprints and schematics, and holographic photo-frames.
A long, decked-out workbench had been installed with a cadre of familiar tools and equipment. Above the workstation, a loft bed that was installed with a privacy screen and plenty of ceiling-height room for...reasons.

A recessed storage closet houses all of Zig’s stuff: odds and ends, scavenged parts, half-finished or half started projects and more random pieces of old tech. Beside it, there was a smuggler-like hidden compartment for more...personal things. It was safely locked behind a panel door that utilized her own biometrics and a memorized 48-character keycode to unlock. Skitternet proof.

In the center of the Cabin sits a large wroshyr tree-wood desk gifted to her by Kelviin. The Wookiee and Zygerrian worked together to rig a set of servos motors to allow the desk to rise and convert into what Zig boringly dubbed her “Standing Desk”, dismissing the idea of calling it a “Vari-Desk”. The desk is fitted with twin widescreens on moveable arms.

A mechanical keypad is plugged into an upgraded terminal with access to the holonet, feeds from the DIA, and a tap into the Advanced Inquisitorius Network. Multiple data pads are usually spread messily across the length of the desk. The high-backed chair has unique ball bearings in the legs that allow it to glide back when she needs to use the standing-desk function. The wiring is very tidy and neat, and a pair of guest chairs sit opposite the desk, with the vidscreens being able to clear wide to the sides for meetings.

Allegedly, this setup can be used for holonet gaming, but none have been able to get past Zig’s security measures to prove this theory wrong.
=== Level 06 - Administrative ===
==== Conference Room ====
Considering the technical ingenuity that went into its construction, the Conference Room is used much less than it probably should be. It has a large format vidscreen with a 360-degree camera, noise-cancelling microphones, no visible wiring, and excellent acoustics. It's also soundproofed in a way that no other room on the ship is for handling high-level briefings and sensitive meeting information.

Of course, most of the crew prefers to just cram into someone's room to take video calls, or one of the recreational areas that are in no way soundproofed or set up for video conferencing.

=== Level 07 - Command Level & Bridge ===
==== Bridge ====
Upon entry to the Bridge, one is greeted by the sight of windows spanning the fore of the fair-sized space, giving an exceptional view of the stars beyond. Below the same windows are panels and monitors, showing diagnostic reads and scans of the environs surrounding the ship. Back from the windows are three additional console stations and guard rails arranged in a horseshoe shape, with the Captain’s chair situated behind the smaller center console. Directly behind the Captain’s chair is a large holoprojector. The starboard and port side walls hold other consoles and larger screens. A final screen is angled from the ceiling above the windows, displaying important information such as star charts and tactical data. The lighting is variable and is set to whatever level the on-duty bridge crew feels comfortable.

=== Engineering Section ===
The Engineering section of the ship is probably the most well-maintained area of operation of the entire ship. Her Captain insists on it, likely due to a background in engineering or perhaps because any good Captain knows just how wrong things can go if something goes wrong in the ship’s engineering. Engines are checked on a strict schedule, including the hyperdrive, which undergoes checks before each use to ensure all safety precautions have been taken. Monitors display diagnostic feeds and readouts at all times so any anomalies can be caught in an instant by the skilled team of engineers keeping the ship up and running.
== Ship Roster ==

The following details the roster of Voidbreaker members serving in active roles on the ship with their own quarters, as well as the Arcona Armed Forces (AAF) personnel assigned to the ship.

While the ''Voidbreaker II'' is part of [https://www.darkjedibrotherhood.com/items/56908-item-container House Qel-Droma's Discretionary Forces], and therefor falls under the AAF's naval command structure, the ship itself has always been run as its own unique "enterprise". Formally, the Captain and XO ('''First Mate''', as the current XO prefers to be called) are the only formal military ranks, with the rest of the crew getting designations based on specializations and roles maintained upon the ship.
When present on board, the Questor and/or Aedile may decide to take command of the vessel or defer to the Captain. Command ensures necessary roles are filled on board, schedules personnel, handles the administrative duties and in general, oversees the smooth running of the ship.
Found by Zig at an auction, the barely functioning droid was rebuilt from the ground up, and the Zygerrian Scavenger even managed to restore her memory module. She could not find it in her to wipe Cinders memory, so instead she gave the dutiful droid a new home and purpose. Thanks to an upgraded processing unit, Cinder manages to retain her memory and personality better than most, and can handle a lot of unique tasks that her new master has asked for her help with.
<br>
Cinder proudly enjoys being a part of the '''Voidbreaker II''' crew and has taken on the task of maintaining running routine maintenance checks on various equipment around the ship, and most importantly helping manage the paperwork by assisting with the digitization and upload process from the clans archaic, analog systems.
|Karran Val'teo, former Captain of the Voidbreaker, had broken off from his responsibilities, leaving behind friends and partners alike. After discovering a sighting to the wayward Zabrak on Tatooine, Captain Zig Kaliska was given operational clearance to deploy Voidbreaker and its allies within the Arcona ranks. Karran had apparently gotten captured by a criminal organization known as the Crimson Sarlaacs. A strike team was assembled and landed on Tatooine in a remote outpost of Mos Kenny.

After searching the town for clues and gathering intel, the strike team set out on speeder bikes to cross the desert. There, they were ambushed by a band of raiders that they fended off. After that detour, the team arrived at another remote outpost that was being used by the Crimson Sarlaacs. Here, the Arconans battled their way to initial victory, only to discover that their adversary was just a hired Mandalorian that was trying to work off a debt to get freedom for her child. That child, named Jet, was left orphaned and ultimately in the care of Quaestor Tali Sroka.

Pushing down into the heart of the Crimson Sarlacc's underground base in the sewers, the Voidbreakers and their teammates recovered Karran Val'teo and worked with him to defeat the Crimson Sarlacc leader and to put an end to their criminal operation.

'''Lan''', who long abandoned the complexities of his old name, is a member of [[Arcona|Clan Arcona]]. Lan still adheres to the principles and traditions of the [[Krath]].

Nobody is quite sure of when he joined the Dark Jedi Brotherhood (not even himself), but everyone knows that was a while ago. Since that time he had the opportunity to serve in every position within the clan structure, from team member to [[Consul]]. Currently he seems content in serving his clan as a regular member.

Lan is, clinically and definitely, insane. Surprising insight and clarity sometimes blooms through the chaos. He still shows many signs of his condition, but violent episodes have become rare.

But Lan wasn't always insane...
== Brief Character History ==

=== Before ===
Lan's past is a mystery known only to a handful of individuals: his childhood in [[starwars:Dathomir|Dathomir]], what forced him to leave the planet, the tragic events that forged his obsession for knowledge. What is generally known about him are some facts concerning his life within the Dark Jedi Brotherhood.

Lan joined the Brotherhood already a young adult, in a time when Master and Student programs were far from being common. As a Journeyman, Lan was an eager and daring swordsman, so much that he was first initiated into the [[Sith Order]] in a time when Orders meant something. Where some saw courage in his actions, others saw a death wish. When faced with different possible courses of action he would often choose the one with the least chance of success. Many times it resulted in his near-death and just as many times he managed to achieve near-impossible victory, but it was always clear that ''something'', maybe the Force itself, watched over him.

He was deeply interested in dueling, but despite his intrepid nature he did not have the thirst for fighting and war that molded the [[Obelisk]] and the Sith. Above all, he craved knowledge: knowledge of the Force, [[starwars:alchemy|alchemy]], Force entities, death and beyond. His interests would seem like a strange combination to a duelist, but keener minds could readily understand that those were means to an end. But what end? His interests eventually made him abandon the Sith ways and become a Krath, and he wandered the clans of the Brotherhood looking for answers.

His life took a major turn once he learned of the [[Abyssal Tome]], the book jealously guarded by [[Arcona|Clan Arcona]], handed down from Consul to Consul and from which they learned the secrets of [[Shadowcrafting]]. Lan became obsessed with the book and its secrets, and soon would find his way into that clan. His devious machinations eventually made him Consul of Arcona, and he had access to the dreaded pages of the Tome.

That was when everything went wrong.
=== Insanity ===
As the months went by, Lan became more and more absent on his duties as Consul as he focused on studying the Abyssal Tome. As [[Vassan Rokir]], the former Consul, had warned him, as an Archpriest Lan did not have the grounding to handle the truths hidden within the pages of the book, so he should proceed with caution. Of course, he didn't.

What followed is a secret known only to four individuals. Lan had not been seen for over a week when his Proconsul, [[Halcyon Rokir]], gathered a handful of the most loyal men he could find and went looking for the missing Consul. They forced their entry into the deepest levels of the Arconan citadel, where Lan spent most of his time locked up, but they were not ready for what they saw: Lan was lying in the middle of a strange arcane circle drawn in blood on the cold floor, holding a knife, and the Abyssal Tome was open beside him. The man was completely nude and the knife bloodied from the tattoos he had carved in his own flesh, covering his whole body up to the neck. Despite the severe injuries he caused to himself he did not die: he was lying there, shivering in a catatonic state. His face was somewhat twisted, rugged and mutating, getting years older every few seconds.

Without hesitating for an instant, Halcyon murdered the men that followed him. He picked the disabled Consul, his friend, from the floor and secretly moved him to the clan summit's chambers. There, he summoned Lan's apprentice, a young [[starwars:zabrak|Zabrak]] named Akyria, and ordered her to leave with her master as soon as possible, for "he would not be safe otherwise, in his debilitated state". Confused and fearful for her master's life she obeyed, and in that same night the two departed, not to be seen again for years. The news spread of the Consul's sudden "disappearance", and Halcyon stepped up to lead the clan.

Lan returned to the Brotherhood after years of wandering the galaxy with his apprentice, and the Archpriest's insanity was on its peak. He arrived completely unexpectedly: one day he simply was there, wandering the halls of the citadel as if he never had left. Most people barely recognized him, he looked more like a walking corpse than a man: his skin was rotten and decrepit, his eyes shined with an unnatural light of their own, but his hair was still black as a moonless night. Incapable of coherent speech he gave no explanations to where he had been, and all treatments were proven incapable of healing his broken mind.

He did not consider himself insane, of course: in his view, others were simply too slow to understand his ideas, which eventually led him to a more introverted attitude, speaking only when necessary. The only person able to understad him without any difficulty was Akyria, who often "translated" his intentions to others. Those more attuned with the Force could sense that the Archpriest's condition was not merely physical: when sensing the Force near him they would feel several "presences", as if the man had become a shell inhabited by a myriad of spirits. As if it weren't odd enough, the numbers of "spirits" varied, but there were always at least three.

Since his return, the Archpriest would vanish without a word, presumebly pursuing his own goals in distant systems. He would then return in times when the clan was in need and, just as suddenly, vanish again. His movements were not completely ignored, however: [[Strategos Thanatos Arconae|Proconsul Strategos]] was growing increasingly convinced that Lan had schemes against Arcona and, once again, someone decided it was time for Lan to disappear. This time he wasn't put in a ship and ordered to leave, however: Lan was sedated, plugged into tubes that kept him alive and eliminated excrements, bound in a metallic cage that restricted his movements and then was left all but forgotten for two years in the darkest cell of the Clan of shadows. Akyria, not knowing what had happened to her master, fled and hid amongst the native inhabitants of Selen.
=== Release ===
After two years, Lan was almost forgotten by most - some even considered him dead. In that time, only two people occasionally thought of him: Akyria and Strategos.

Due to her apprenticeship the Zabrak had developed a strong [[starwars:force bond|Force bond]] with the Archpriest. That allowed her to reach him through the Force when she meditated, but he never replied: she would often tell him what she was doing and ask for guidance, but received only dark silence as answer. When Arcona left the [[Dajorra]] System as consequence of the [[Arcona#Arconan_Shadows_Take_Control|Vong Invasion]], Lan's cage was transferred to a cell in the clan's flagship, the [[ISDII Eye of the Abyss II|Eye of the Abyss II]]. Akyria managed to become a prominent figure in the underworld of [[Selen]], retaining her influence even after the Vong invasion. When Arcona returned to Dajorra after its exile she called to her master again, and for the first time came an answer: ''wait''.

At first, Strategos would visit his old and demented friend hoping to understand his peculiar condition and learn of his plans, but the prisoner would never speak to him, even though his mouth was unobstructed. The man's eyes were always open and fixated on him while he was in the cell, but they alone were expressionless. As the answers eluded him, visiting Lan became more of... a habit. Strategos would often have lengthy monologues with the caged Archpriest while savoring a cigar, the topics would usually concern recent happenings and prospects for the clan. It was a way he found of putting his own thoughts in order. It was when the clan returned to Dajorra and Strategos mentioned the need to cull possible remaining Vong cells in the planet that he heard Lan's voice for the first time. In a surprisingly calm, clear and centered tone, the Archpriest proposed him a deal, a way to easily solve the matter that wouldn't cost anything to the clan. He explained how he would use his apprentice, who had contacts in the underworld, to find any possible resistance and eliminate it.

Strategos naturally reached to the Force, and what he felt from the Archpriest was something entirely new: chaos no longer raged inside him, but Lan still wasn't alone. Now there was a single, constant "entity" within him, one that was cold and black. Lan's future was clouded, but there was no imminent danger flowing from him. After the issue was debated with a surprised [[Sashar Arconae|Consul '''Sashar''' Arconae]], the cage was opened. The resistance cells were dealt with swiftly by clan Arcona and Selen returned to order.

=== Solitude ===
After his release, Lan wasn't of much use to the Clan. He became more and more recluse, disappearing for longer and longer periods of time. He still carried out the commands from his superiors, but everyone who knew him could tell that he was but a shadow of the man he used to be.

One day, Lan simply did not return. He left with his apprentice in search of something even he could not quite explain. It was assumed that Lan wandered the galaxy with Akyria, in search of old ruins and artifacts. After a while, everyone simply assumed that he had died. They should have known better.

'''Twelve years''' after he left, Lan simply returned one day, as if nothing had happened. Except that something most certainly did happen. Akyria was nowhere to be seen, and Lan returned with an adopted daughter, Lyra. The eldritch alien presence that once took residence within him was gone, and Lan's mental stability had taken a turn for the worse. Nobody has been able to make much sense of his explanations of what happened or what he did while he was away.

[[Marick Tyris Arconae|Lord Marick Tyris Arconae]], whose motivations remain unknown, has been assisting Lan in his adaptation to a Brotherhood that is vastly different from what the Archpriest used to know.

=== Current Status ===
Lan is currently a member of [[House Qel-Droma]] of [[Arcona|Clan Arcona]]. There he serves quietly and unpretentiously, though his condition makes it hard for people to trust him. Only old friends and acquaintances seem to have some manner or patience with his current eccentricities. His superiors recognize him as a valuable, yet expendable, asset - his condition and attunement with the more divinatory powers of the Force give him a strange form of insight that proved useful in the past, while his effectiveness in whatever tasks are assigned to him is unquestionable.

== Character Description ==

=== Physical Description ===
Lan is tall and of average build, leaning toward slim. He once had blue eyes, but they're now vibrant yellow, which can be unsettling to people unfamiliar with the Dark Side. Lan has very long and straight black hair, and keeps a full beard with some graying to it. His body is covered in scars and ritualistic tattoos that blend Sith, Krath, and Nightsister traditions, from the neck down. He rarely leaves those uncovered.
=== Personality ===
Lan’s mind is a chaotic jumble of half-formed ideas, prophetic glimpses into other times or places, intrusive insights, and bizarre observations. His speech is non-linear, metaphorical, contradictory, fragmented, with a splash of non sequiturs. He laughs at things no one else notices, talks to beings that aren’t there, fails to see people in front of him.

Lan doesn't like to work in groups or teams and feels most comfortable on his own, or with people who are familiar and close to him (old friends, his adopted daughter Lyra, his droids). Lan sticks to himself, sets his own pace, and doesn't share feelings or emotions with others. It isn’t that he doesn’t LIKE others, but he is often frustrated by people’s inability to understand what he desperately tries to convey. As such, Lan tends to have problems relating to his comrades.

=== Combat ===
Once a proud duelist, Lan doesn't care much about physical combat anymore. He used to practice with his lightsaber and swords daily, but that hobby was abandoned a long time ago. Give his mental condition, his eccentric behavior and somewhat "skinny" looks, Lan is often underestimated by his opponents. That can be dangerous.

Despite not seeing himself as a duelist anymore, Lan is still very skilled with a lightsaber. He favors [[Makashi]] and [[Soresu]], and in combat he makes full use of the Force to anticipate his opponent's moves, surprise them, and throw them off balance. Given the chance, he will attack from a distance with [[Force Lightning]], or try to Teleport his opponent either into harm's way or to an enclosure, or Teleport himself out of trouble. More than anything, Lan just wants the combat to end, and he tries not to kill anyone.

'''Lan''', who long abandoned the complexities of his old name, is an Equite II of [[Arcona|Clan Arcona]].

His mind is both shattered and drowned by visions and insights, some triggered by the Force, some simply delusional. Diagnosed with severe [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Schizophrenia schizophrenia], his current state could be described as reasonably "stable", but for a long time coexistence with him was nearly impossible as he suffered from [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Delusion delusions of persecution, reference and nihilism] as well as [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hallucination hallucinations], [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thought_disorder disorganized speech], disorganized or catatonic behavior and [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Affective_flattening affective flattening]. Surprising insight and clarity sometimes blooms through the chaos. He still shows many signs of his condition, but violent episodes have become rare.

But Lan wasn't always insane...
== Brief Character History ==

=== Before ===
Lan's past is a mystery known only to a handful of individuals: his childhood in [[starwars:Dathomir|Dathomir]], what forced him to leave the planet, the tragic events that forged his obsession for knowledge.

=== Insanity ===

=== Release ===

As the answers eluded him, visiting Lan became more of... a habit.

=== Solitude ===
After his release, Lan wasn't of much use to the Clan. He became more and more recluse, disappearing for longer and longer periods of time. He still carried out the commands from his superiors, but everyone who knew him could tell that he was but a shadow of the man he used to be.

== Brief Character History ==

=== Before ===
Lan's past is a mystery known only to a handful of individuals: his childhood in [[starwars:Dathomir|Dathomir]], what forced him to leave the planet, the tragic events that forged his obsession for knowledge.

=== Insanity ===

=== Release ===

=== Solitude ===
After his release, Lan wasn't of much use to the Clan. He became more and more recluse, disappearing for longer and longer periods of time. He still carried out the commands from his superiors, but everyone who knew him could tell that he was but a shadow of the man he used to be.

<nowiki>#</nowiki>To be finished

=== Current Status ===

== Character Description ==

=== Physical Description ===
After immersion in [[starwars:Bacta|Bacta]] to recover from his inHumane imprisonment, more oddities were revealed. The once decrepit face rejuvenated to a more natural look for Lan's age, but it is disfigured by wounds that refuse to heal by any means, just like the tattoos he carved on himself. The Archpriest's once blue eyes are now red and yellow, a color most familiar to those who dwell in the Dark Side. He is tall and of average build, tending towards slim. His hair is very long, down to his waist, and black. He is always seen wearing the traditional Brotherhood robes which cover all of his tattoos, often with the hood up, and always carries both his lightsaber and his [[Sapphire Blade]].

Whenever someone senses the Force near Lan, two presences are felt where he stands. One is the Archpriest himself; the other is something else, a ''thing'' completely alien in nature, cold and unforgiving. The possibilities of it being a [[starwars:force spirit|Force spirit]] or a [[starwars:force wrraith|Force Wraith]] have been discarded. Anyone attempting to sense into it any further feels a strong pull, as if heading towards a black hole: no one was curious (or stupid) enough to dare beyond that point.

=== Personality ===
Still insane, Lan is much more stable now than he used to be. Most of the time he is very quiet and very focused on whatever he is doing. His feelings aren't always accurately expressed: he may look depressed in a moment of victory, or show a broad and proud smile when doom is imminent, but that doesn't happen all the time. Some acid comments hint of a morbid sense of humor. He makes himself clearly understood most of the time, but occasionally he will say something seemingly out of context or incoherent.

His mood, however, changes all the time and for no reason: he can be calm, then anxious in the next moment, then irritated, then calm again... the moods have no connection between them and they are not attached to any circumstantial causes, they just happen.

=== Combat ===
Once a proud duelist, Lan doesn't care much about physical combat anymore. He used to practice with his lightsaber and swords daily, but that hobby was abandoned a long time ago. A person who does get to see Lan when forced into a one on one melee combat is in for a horrifying experience.

Lan has always been underestimated as a combatant, specially in the past, when he looked like a decrepit and senile mummy. Today, one still doesn't assess much just by looking at him. When the fight does start, the first surprise is often how absurdly fast he is. Lan relies on his speed and feinting movements to land decisive strikes through his opponent's defenses. He often uses the Force to augment his abilities and / or cause distracting inconveniences to fool his opponent's perception and help that simple strategy. In a one on one showdown he will not spare any energy, using all he has to take down the target as fast as possible; when faced with more than one foe he will attempt to manage his fatigue, taking down the targets he deems less threatening first so he can focus on the real challenge later.

What does distinguish him is the savage brutality with which he fights, plunging into the fight with a maddening scream, growl or laughter in a way that completely contradicts his more quiet nature. When he fights he usually relies on his [[Makashi]] or [[Dun Moch]] training, but these forms are corrupted, their movements completely devoid of any elegance or finesse: although deadly accurate and fast, they seem to lack the restraint and discipline one would expect. It is almost as if watching a savage, mad beast fighting, attempting to rip the meat in front of it apart. On the verge of frenzy, he does not stop until his opponent is dead and his clothes are soaked in blood - often his opponent's and his own.

'''Lan''', who recently abandoned the complexities of his old name, is a [[Krath]] [[Archpriest]] of [[Clan Arcona]].

Nobody is quite sure of when he joined the Dark Jedi Brotherhood (not even himself), but everyone knows that was a while ago. Since that time he had the opportunity to serve in every position within the clan structure, from team member to [[Consul]]. Currently he seems content in serving his clan as a regular member, but those who've known him for a while know he is always looking after his own interests - whatever they may be.
After the issue was debated with a surprised [[Sashar Arconae|Consul Sashar Arconae]], the cage was opened. The resistance cells were dealt with swiftly by clan Arcona and Selen returned to order.

===Current Status===

Lan is currently a member of [[Wolf Guard]] in [[House Qel-Droma]] of [[Clan Arcona]]. There he serves quietly and unpretentiously, offering words of advice when needed and assisting in the team's day-to-day activities. He doesn't have any real allies: nobody really trusts him, as his condition makes him somewhat unpredictable, and many feel he is a threat. His superiors recognize him as a valuable, yet expendable, asset - his condition gives him a strange form of insight that proved useful in the past, while his brutal effectiveness in whatever tasks are assigned to him is unquestionable. One might say that the only ally he has is the ''thing'' that seems to watch over him - if one chooses to believe in such crazy talks.

Many eyes are upon him. When will the crazy, demented sociopath snap again?

==Character Description==

===Physical Description===

===Personality===

===Combat===

==DB Info and Trivia==

*One of the few Brazilians in the DB. Possibly the only currently active.
*One of the few straight male members in Arcona. Possibly the only currently active too.
*Changed names twice. Originally joined as Ravnos Nottingham, then changed to al'Lan Mandragoran. Now it's just 'Lan'.
*Joined the DB as a Sith in [[House Ludo Kressh]] of Naga Sadow.
*Passed by [[Naga Sadow]], [[Taldryan]] and [[Scholae Palatinae]] before settling in [[Arcona]].
*Wrote the descriptions for Arcona's old home in the now abandoned Coronada system.
*Has been in every position within a clan's structure - except [[Rollmaster]].
*Never really understood what the hell a Rollmaster is good for.
*Served as the Eclectic Pedagog for the [http://www.darkjedibrotherhood.com/dbjedi/shadowacademy/sa/course.php?name=KrathCore Krath Core] course for a long time.
*Updated the then incredibly outdated Krath Core course to its currently outdated version, years ago.
*Awarded a Sapphire Blade for his work as an ACC Trainer, years ago.
==Stirring of the Wolf==
After the [[Ninth Great Jedi War]] [[Clan Arcona]] could not be stronger, but as always times called for changes. It was decided that each [[House]] would have three teams, each team serving a specific and different purpose and each leader assuming responsibility for the way the team would be moulded. One such team was given to an [[Obelisk]] Exarch, [[Cethgus Kuga]]: he opted for a brutal, ruthless form of training and believed that the only way to prove yourself was on the field of battle. The team was given the name of Wolf Guard. Each member is trained and pushed to its limits in order to fight with unparalled fury and rage until their enemies fall, often quickly and without mercy.

===Wolf's Path===
Each new member is intensively trained, brought to understand war, taught how to fight beside each other as a tactically efficient team that works in unison. Members of Wolf Guard are not subtle: they are trained to feint, charge, kill and ask questions later. The team specializes in dense forest / jungle operations, stalking its prey and using silent coordination to flank it. Each member of Wolf Guard is expected to give his / her life to whatever duties they are assigned to, the most important usually being the protection of the House's leadership. They have a lust for blood and a passion for combat that is not seen in the other teams. It can be expected of a Wolf Guard to perform some act of great (or, some may say, reckless) heroism during their term in combat.
The oath is part of the initiation each member is expected to undertake: they acknowledge their own expendability, their lives being irrelevant when compared to the duty of protecting their [[Quaestor]] and [[Aedile]] and serving [[House Qel-Droma]].

===Service of the Wolf===
Members of Wolf Guard take turns serving as personal bodyguards to their Quaestor and Aedile, each term of duty taking anywhere from a month to a year at the summit's discretion. When not serving as such they remain with the rest of the team, unless they are undertaking specific training or missions for the House summit that require them to be elsewhere.

Lan is, clinically and definitely, insane. Diagnosed with severe [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Schizophrenia schizophrenia] his current state could be described as reasonably "stable", but for a long time cohexistance with him was nearly impossible as he suffered from [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Delusion delusions of persecution, reference and nihilism] as well as [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hallucination hallucinations], [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thought_disorder disorganized speech], disorganized or catatonic behavior and [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Affective_flattening affective flattening]. He still shows signs of his condition, such as talking to himself when he thinks nobody is watching, occasional incoherent phrases or behaviors and constant mood swings - most people prefer to keep a safe distance from him, but violent episodes have become rare.

But Lan wasn't always insane...

==Brief Character History==

===Before===

His life took a major turn once he learned of the [[Abyssal Tome]], the book jealously guarded by [[Clan Arcona]], handed down from Consul to Consul and from which they learned the secrets of [[Shadowcrafting]]. Lan became obsessed with the book and its secrets, and soon would find his way into that clan. His devious machinations eventually made him Consul of Arcona, and he had access to the dreaded pages of the Tome.

That was when everything went wrong.

===Insanity===

This time he wasn't put in a ship and ordered to leave, however: Lan was sedated, pluged into tubes that kept him alive and eliminated excrements, bound in a metallic cage that restricted his movements and then was left all but forgotten for two years in the darkest cell of the Clan of shadows. Akyria, not knowing what had happened to her master, fled and hid amongst the native inhabitants of Selen.

===After===

After the issue was debated with a surprised [[Sashar Arconae|Consul Sashar Arconae]], the cage was opened. The resistance cells were dealt with swiftly by clan Arcona and Selen returned to order.

===Current Status===

==Character Description==

===Physical Description===

===Personality===

===Combat===

==Brief Character History==

===Before===

===Insanity===

==Brief Character History==

===Before===

===Insanity===

This time he wasn't put in a ship and ordered to leave, however: Lan was sedated, pluged into tubes that kept him alive and eliminated excrements, bound in a metalic cage that restricted his movements and then was left all but forgotten for two years in the darkest cell of the Clan of shadows. Akyria, not knowing what had happened to her master, fled and hid amongst the native inhabitants of Selen.

===After===

When Arcona left the [[Dajorra]] System as consequence of the [[Arcona#Arconan_Shadows_Take_Control|Vong Invasion]], Lan's cage was transfered to a cell in the clan's flagship, the [[ISDII Eye of the Abyss II|Eye of the Abyss II]].

He explained how he would use his apprentice, who had contacts in the underworld, to find any possible resistence and eliminate it.

After the issue was debated with a surprised [[Sashar Arconae|Consul Sashar Arconae]], the cage was opened. The resistance cells were dealt with swiftly by clan Arcona and Selen returned to order.

===Current Status===

Lan is currently a member of Wolf Guard in [[House Qel-Droma]] of [[Clan Arcona]].

==Character Description==

===Physical Description===

===Personality===

===Combat===

His movements were not completely ignored, however: [[Strategos Thanatos Arconae|Strategos]] was growing increasingly convinced that Lan had schemes against Arcona and, once again, someone decided it was time for Lan to disappear.

===After===

After two years, Lan was almost forgotten by most - some even considered him dead. In that time, only two people occasionally thought of him: Akyria and Strategos.

Due to her apprenticeship the Zabrak had developed a strong Force bond with the Archpriest. That allowed her to reach him through the Force when she meditated, but he never replied: she would often tell him what she was doing and ask for guidance, but received only dark silence as answer. When Arcona left the Dajorra System as consequence of the [[Arcona#Arconan_Shadows_Take_Control|Vong Invasion]], Lan's cage was transfered to a cell in the clan's flagship, the [[ISDII Eye of the Abyss II|Eye of the Abyss II]]. Akyria managed to become a prominent figure in the underworld of Selen, retaining her influence even after the Vong invasion.

He explained how he would use his apprentice, who had contacts in the underworld, to find any possible resistence and eliminate it.

After the issue was debated with a surprised [[Sashar Arconae|Consul Sashar Arconae]], the cage was opened. The Vong cells were dealt with swiftly by clan Arcona and Selen returned to order.

===Current Status===

Lan is currently a member of [[Wolf Guard]] in [[House Qel-Droma]] of [[Clan Arcona]]. There he serves quietly and unpretentiously, offering words of advice when needed and assisting in the team's day-to-day activities. Many eyes are upon him. What could this freakish demented sociopath be planning?

==Character Description==

===Physical Description===

He is always wearing his robes and always carries both his lightsaber and his [[Sapphire Blade]].

Whenever someone senses the Force near Lan, two presences are felt where he stands. One is the Archpriest himself; the other is something else, completely alien in nature, cold and unforgiving. Anyone attempting to go further feels a strong pull, as if heading towards a black hole: no one was interested enough to dare beyond that point.

===Personality===

Lan is much more stable now than he used to be.

==Brief History==

===Before===

Above all, he craved knowledge: knowledge of the Force, alchemy, Force entities, death and beyond. His interests would seem like a strange combination to a duelist, but keener minds could readily understand that those were means to an end. But what end? His interests eventually made him abandon the Sith ways and become a Krath, and he wandered the clans of the Brotherhood looking for answers.

===Insanity===

Despite the severe injuries he caused himself he did not die: he was lying there, shivering in a catatonic state. His face was somewhat twisted, rugged and mutating, getting years older every few seconds.

Without hesitating for an instant, Halcyon murdered the men that followed him. He picked the disabled Consul, his friend, from the floor and secretly moved him to the clan summit's chambers. There, he summoned Lan's apprentice, a young Zabrak named Akyria, and ordered her to leave with her master as soon as possible, for "he would not be safe otherwise, in his debilitated state". Confused and fearful for her master's life she obeyed, and in that same night the two departed, not to be seen again for years. The news spread of the Consul's sudden "disappearance", and Halcyon stepped up to lead the clan.

Lan returned to the Brotherhood after years wandering the galaxy with this apprentice, and the Archpriest's insanity was on its peak. He arrived completely unexpectedly, one day he simply was there, wandering the halls of the citadel as if he never had left. (To be continued)
