Kaayn Salis, Jedi Knight is a member of Battle Team Ooroo. He is the current Master of Disciple T'Espera. He was was trained by Jedi Knight Sarek Tabanne. Jedi Knight Kaayn Salis follows the Path of the Consular.

=== Childhood and Early Life ===
Kaayn was born on New Tython to colonists in Menat Ombo. In his youth, his parents told him heroic stories of warriors known as Jedi and their triumphs against the evil Sith. Despite his parents protests. Kaayn would frequently leave the homestead unattended. On one such occasion, he wandered outside of the settlement. As night approached, he was attacked by a group of slavers. They took him to their staging ground and secured him in a makeshift prison with a small group of blue skinned humanoids. After four day, a group of Harakoans led by a Twi'lek assaulted the camp and freed the human child and the Harakoans.

Upon Kaayns' return, Sa'rek informed his parents that the child was strong in the force and insisted that he be tested and trained as a Jedi. His parents eventually agreed, and Kaayn was taken by the Twi'lek to a remote location in the grasslands of eastern Owyhyee. In addition of the normal jedi curriculum, he was also introduced to the Harakoan culture, traditions and language. Through his training he came to respect the culture of the Harakoans and eventually gained the respect of the tribes he visited.

Kaayn has never met a mirror he didn't like. For a Jedi, he is vain, arrogant, and has a bit of a hero complex. He insists on being the center of attention, which is apparent by his highly polished armor that he wears under his Jedi robes. He insists on getting credit for his accomplishments.

A Rollmaster oversees the progress of all Master/Padawans pairings. Should a Padawan be without a Master, the Rollmaster is also tasked with acting as the Master to these Padawans until a proper Master is assigned to the Padawan. The Rollmaster also serves as a guide and example, seeking out flaws in the Master/Padawan Program where he/she can and continuously updating the program with improvements. Duties of a Rollmaster include, but are not limited to:

*Welcoming all new members into the House.
*Setting up Promotion Requirement email chains for each Padawan.
*Overseeing the progress of all Padawans.
*Sending out regular Master/Padawan Reports.
*Acting as a Master to all unpaired Padawans. (See Responsibilities of a Master)

A Master is a mentor to their assigned Padawan. They are instrumental in a Padawan's training to guide them in the right direction. In this essential position, a Master is tasked with making sure that their Padawan has an optimal experience a member within the Acolytes of Odan-Urr. A Master should make sure that their Padawan is on track and up-to-date with their [[Promotion Requirements]] on a regular basis via email, IRC or other forms of communication, as well as keeping their Rollmaster informed of their Padawan's progress by replying to the Promotion Requirements email chain for their apprentice. Masters should also be supportive, and encourage their Padawan as they fulfill their requirements as they ascend to knighthood. Duties of a Master include, but are not limited to:

*Overseeing the training of their assigned Padawan.
*Keeping in contact with their Padawan and Rollmaster via Email or IRC.

A Padawan is a student under the tutelage of their assigned Master. A Padawan is tasked with fulfilling their [[Promotion Requirements]] as they rise through the ranks, eventually reaching the coveted rank of Jedi Knight. Padawans should also regularly check their email inboxes for valuable information, which may help them in their quest to knighthood. A Padawan is also tasked with making sure that their Rollmaster and Master are up-to-date regarding their progress. Keeping track of each competition that you as a Padawan participate in is a good practice to get into, as well as informing both their Master and Rollmaster of the competitions that are participated in. Duties of a Padawan include, but are not limited to:

Master/Padawan Email Chains serve as a main form of communication between the Padawan, Master and Rollmaster. As soon as a Padawan in introduced into the House, the Rollmaster will set up an email chain detailing the Padawan's current goals to reach. In these email chains, the Padawan or Master is to update the Rollmaster on any completed tasks that may be used towards new promotions.

Master/Padawan Reports are essentially emails sent out to all Masters and Padawans sent out in order for the Rollmaster to be updated on activity and gaining valuable feedback, which will be used in assuring that the Master/Padawan Program is kept entertaining, efficient, clear and concise. These Reports will often act as a 'guideline' illustrating what information should be sent to the Rollmaster. All Report emails should be replied to directly to the Rollmaster with the information asked regarding both the Program, and your respective Master or Padawan. The Rollmaster will ensure that these Reports are sent out every month to maximize communication with the Rollmaster.

==== Special Reports: Final and Initial Reports ====

While most of the Master/Student Reports will have an initial email sent out by the Rollmaster, this may not always be the case. When one takes on a Padawan, it is the Master's duty to report their Padawan's initial progress within a few weeks of taking them on as a Padawan. When any given Padawan is elevated to the rank of Jedi Knight, this is when both Masters and (former) Padawans should send the Rollmaster a final report explaining their overall performance and achievements during their time as either a Master or Padawan.

Master/Student RunOns were originally planned by the Rollmaster as an activity for both Masters and Padawans to participate in. These RunOns may be anything from the Padawan's training to a mission. The 'theme' of the RunOn may be either discussed by the Master and Student or created by the Master. Depending on length, Master/Student RunOns may be used as Major House Summit Tasks. Master/Student RunOns should also run until the Padawan is promoted fully as a Jedi Knight. If there is interest by both parties, the RunOns will be allowed to continue after a member obtains the rank of Jedi Knight. Should the Master or Padawan be unable to come up with a theme, the Rollmaster may create a basic theme, from which the Master and Student may decide how their story unfolds.

The life of Garik Burren is one that has been clouded in mystery and betrayal. From a young boy with dreams of being a Jedi to a powerful Dark Jedi, Garik was born on the second day of the seventh standard month in the year 2 BBY. He was born on the Outer Rim world of Les Doroth a marshy and temperate world scattered with native villages, settlements, and a few cities.

==History==

===Early Life===

Garik was born to survivors of the Jedi purge. Garik had a natural affinity for the force. He believed his parents to be the greatest of all Jedi. They, along with a Zebrak friend named Hakk Brum, began his training. Hakk, and expert weaponsmith and master martial artist, gave Garik a Katana and began training him in the martial arts. His parents taught him the ways of the force. Garik quickly learned the path of the Jedi was brutal and aggressive.

One day after meditating, Garik returned home to find his parents murdered. Hakk quickly took the young orphan in and continued his training. It became evident that the instruction he had been receiving from birth was in the dark side. Garik, however, was too naive and thought he'd been training to become a Jedi.

===The Shea-Maj===

Since the purge, Hakk had become an Agent in the local crime syndicate of the system the Shea-Maj. Many people cheated him, double crossed him, and there were many attempts on his life. The young Garik became his tool in dealing with his enemies. It continued this way for 10 years. Hakk could sense his apprentices power. He started to plot his ascension to the throne of the Shea-Maj. If anyone got in his way, Hakk would dispatch his apprentice to deal with them.

===A Startling Discovery===

At the age of 16 Garik discovered a recording in his masters quarters. The recording showed his parents, they weren't Jedi as he once believed, they were in fact Dark Jedi! Garik felt his stomach sink as he watched further. He discovered his own master murdered his parents and the teachings he'd been receiving were that of the Dark Side! Garik felt betrayed. Stealing his masters YT-2000 transport, he fled to the world of Om Tisi, a desert world. There, in a self imposed exile, he attempted to redeem himself and study the ways of the lightside.

While on Om Tisi Garik met a Twi'lek Jedi named Sarek Tabanne. Sarek has been a Padawan during the purge and gone into hiding. Garik sensed the force in him and asked to learn the light side. At first, Sarek was suspicious of Garik. It did not take long for Garik to earn his trust. Despite the trust he had given, Sarek was reluctant to take Garik as his apprentice. However, the power he sensed in Garik cause him to give in and begin Gariks training.

Garik soon became impatient with his training. He felt as if his connection to the force was fading. Garik decided it was his masters fault for all his failings. He knew he was strong in the force! He knew Sarek was somehow using the force to sever his connection to it. Sarek knew the power of his apprentice, he was afraid of giving him to much power! Sarek was afraid! A coward! Garik decided a coward was not worthy of remaining alive, and plotted to kill his master.

As his master slept, Garik snuck into his chambers and killed him, taking his lightsaber as a trophy.

Anger, hatred, betrayal, and a passion for revenge kept him on the dark path.

===The Return Home===

At the age of 18 he returned to Les Doroth to seek revenge on his former master. Garik found much had changed in the two years he'd been away. Hakk Brum was no longer an agent of the Shea-Maj crime syndicate he was now the Prince! In addition, the Shea-Maj were now a dominant force in the Les Doroth system. After months of searching, he found Hakk and an intense duel took place. Sensing his former students power, Hakk fled. Garik searched for his former master but could not find him. Garik knew, he must again flee his homeworld.

===The Kom Rishir Conflict===

The next 6 months were spent wandering from system to system and not more than a few days would go by where he'd meet Shea-Maj assassins or bounty hunters. Garik knew his time was short.

===Journey to Antei===

Garik traveled for 8 months before arriving in the Antei system. Meeting with the brotherhood, he joined Clan Plagueis.
